Chapter 50: Swift!
Jié Jié had a dream.
He dreamed of a standard Katana Swordsman clad in Male Fire Dragon armor, wielding a Male Fire Dragon blade. This Katana Warrior lunged forward with the tip of his sword aimed at him, leaping high into the air by stepping on his body.
Just as the straight blade was about to slash down…
He woke up from his dream.
Was that katana warrior in my dream probably Kongou Ryū?
Tch, lower-class katana.
Jié Jié wobbled as he lifted his head from the Water Dragon skeleton, emitting a “huh huh” mocking laugh at the katana warrior who appeared in his dream.
He could naturally insult so easily because he used to be a katana warrior himself, enjoying the thrill of successful Iaijutsu and Observation Slash while also mocking himself for overextending, being deceived by feints, and having his Rising Dragon Cut interrupted.
After rising again, there was another empty-handed rush after divine might traveling.
Using a katana, feeling pain, now reincarnated as a monster, encountering hunters was all about creating pain!
“To make them experience the pain of being a katana warrior!”
Jié Jié stood straight from the Water Dragon corpse, flapping his wings to let out a loud roar.
After going crazy, he patted his wings and gathered them in, lowering his head to keep looking at the Water Dragon.
This Water Dragon didn’t have any Dragon Jewels, just some stones like kidney stones, but he still hadn’t figured out their use, they were all dim and lifeless.
Seeing too many stones made him indifferent; if he bit them, he’d spit them out, if he didn’t bite them, he’d swallow them, occasionally turning his head to check his excrement, where he could see undigested stones.
His attention wasn’t on the stones; he was searching for any remaining Water Dragon meat that hadn’t been eaten clean.
It was truly unsatisfying. In the future, he wouldn’t let himself fall from the sky either, the meat would get ruined and lose its meaning.
Searching high and low, he only managed to lick a few strands of meat fibers left on the bones. Looking up, he saw the sky getting darker. Only then did Jie Jié remember the baby dragons left by the lake. He didn’t even think about trying out the Water Dragon form and hastily took to the skies.
The sharp gaze of the Male Fire Dragon scanned across the land, spotting four little ones eating crabs.
Hmm, looks like they’re hungry enough to eat crabs.
Jié Jié also noticed their actions calling for him. If he went down now, they’d likely be disappointed when they saw he had nothing in his claws.
He planned to bring two Herbivore Dragons, but then he saw the four little ones stop eating crabs and instead attempt to include rabbits within their hunting range.
Pausing for a moment, he thought the young dragons weren’t starving yet, and he could wait to see if they showed some new capabilities.
Thus, Jié Jié hid high up in the sky, witnessing the young dragons’ first successful hunt and the birth of this small alliance.
If he didn’t return for several days and food became scarce, would this alliance dissolve? Would the young dragons become solitary like ordinary Fire Dragons?
Jié Jié was curious, but he didn’t stay away for several days.
He would be the backing force of this small alliance until the young dragons could hunt large monsters together. Perhaps then, the abundant meat from large monsters would allow them to continue?
The Male Fire Dragon turned around and left, planning to catch some Herbivore Dragons to reward the young dragons.
When he grabbed one Herbivore Dragon per claw, his speed was very fast.
But just as Jié Jié was about to reappear before the young dragons, he saw a green shadow also eyeing the Fire Dragon offspring.
Indeed, even though Water Dragons dominated the lakeside area, how could such a large group of Herbivore Dragons not attract the covetous eyes of monsters?
The scales of the baby Fire Dragons had already become vibrant, more noticeable than the Herbivore Dragons.
The young dragons approached the forest near the lake while feeding, unaware of the green shadow lurking among the trees.
Jié Jié dropped his prey and dove toward that green shadow. It wasn’t until halfway that he identified it as a Swift Dragon.
A green Swift Dragon, a subspecies of Swift Dragon, Green Swift Dragon—never expected to find it in this ecological region.
Swift Dragons are always fast. To avoid this guy directly abducting the young dragons, Jié Jié let out a roar during his dive.
“Aaaarrrrgh!”
The bright dragon roar pierced through the dusk from the sky.
Unlike the sluggish young dragons, the Green Swift Dragon noticed him as the Male Fire Dragon dove. This dragon roar only made it abandon waiting for nightfall and charge directly towards the bewildered young dragons.
The powerful downdraft stirred the fire dragon’s wings, rippling the patterns formed by the folds.
Jié Jié landed on the ground without stabilizing his body yet, but the long-prepared fireball immediately shot out from his mouth, heading towards the Green Swift Dragon.
Green Swift Dragons often have greater flexibility compared to regular Swift Dragons; it swung its tail and shattered the fireball instantly, then emitted a low-pitched painful roar.
Its body trembling slightly, it didn’t turn back, regaining its composure and continuing to charge towards the young dragons.
Swift Dragons are usually cautious, but once they enter the hunting state, they won’t stop until they capture their prey. The aggressiveness of the Green Swift Dragon makes this nature even more pronounced.
Fire Dragons aren’t as agile as Swift Dragons on land. The young dragons sensed something was wrong and started retreating, but their steps were insignificant compared to the Green Swift Dragon.
Would the Green Swift Dragon succeed?
Jié Jié wasn’t just a Fire Dragon.
The Fire Dragon shed its shell, black fur covering its body.
Is the Green Swift Dragon faster than the Swift Dragon as a subspecies?
That’s a racial comparison excluding individual data differences, irrelevant to the two Swift Dragons present.
A faster black shadow zipped past, riding onto its back and hugging it tightly.
After pressing down on the Green Swift Dragon, Jié Jié paused momentarily. This pheromone?
Female?
Even if it’s female, still gotta fight!
The Swift Dragon bit down on the Green Swift Dragon’s neck, but the intention was much more straightforward and blatant than mating.
Physically straightforward and blatant.
The Green Swift Dragon didn’t know where this strange Swift Dragon came from on its back, lacking the special scent of the breeding season. It didn’t think this creature wanted to mate with it either.
Swift Dragons are social creatures, but that doesn’t mean they’ll show kindness to an unfamiliar member of their own species who exhibits hostility upon meeting.
Paw striking the ground, the Green Swift Dragon twisted its body to the side, attempting to escape from under the Swift Dragon without slowing down.
Jié Jié lost his grip momentarily and was indeed thrown off backward.
But he finally bit down on the Green Swift Dragon’s long tail.
The Savage Jaw Dragon bit down on the Green Swift Dragon’s long tail, dragging it along.
The scent of a fellow Swift Dragon was covered by the stronger scent of another kind of monster. The Green Swift Dragon was startled as it was being dragged away by Jié Jié.
The cat-like front paws of the Swift Dragon left scratches on the ground but couldn’t withstand the terrifying strength of the Raptor species.
After being dragged for a distance, the Green Swift Dragon found its footing again. Its flexible tail curved, it turned around and jumped, aiming a Wing Blade Combo Attack at the Savage Jaw Dragon’s head which was biting its tail.
The purpose was clear, but Jié Jié wasn’t a target.
At that moment, he was just about to stomp on the Green Swift Dragon with his claws. This action didn’t stop when the Swift Dragon retaliated. Seeing the counterattack, he thrust his thick neck forward, taking these two hits.
Blood marks appeared on his neck from the Wing Blades, and Jié Jié began vigorously shaking his neck, bringing the Swift Dragon’s tail in his mouth along with it, disrupting the balance of the Green Swift Dragon and hindering its next combo attack.
As his head swayed left and right, his back membrane opened, and red light flickered in his throat.
Flames surged, filling Jié Jié’s mouth. The pain compelled him to open his big mouth and release the flames.
The Green Swift Dragon’s tail, bitten full of sharp cuts, finally escaped, but the fire pillar from the Savage Jaw Dragon’s mouth was swinging towards it.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
