Chapter 51: Not So Good to Intervene

Chapter 51: Not So Good to Intervene

“Lady, how long have we been here?”

Arthur looked at the monsters that had been cleaned up again, feeling something was off. Hadn’t these monsters already fought with the lady? Why were there still more?

“What’s wrong? Suddenly asking that, are you losing your patience?”

“Not exactly that. It’s just… doesn’t this corridor feel a bit strange? Didn’t we already beat those monsters? Why are there still more?”

“Oh, is that what you’re concerned about? If that’s the case, you really don’t have to worry. This God Palace, well, it’s quite large. It’s perfectly normal for there to be many of the same kind of monster inside. Now come on, let’s keep moving.”

Weirafiya continued to lead Arthur forward, completely unaware that danger was closing in on them.

After about ten more minutes of walking, they arrived at a door.

“Looks like we’ve reached the deepest part of this corridor. Arthur, can you feel it? There’s a fiery presence behind this door.”

Weirafiya was sensitive to flames, so she could distinctly sense the flaming aura lurking behind the door. There must be some powerful flames waiting for her back there.

“Lady, that thing inside is so powerful; of course, I can feel it too! By the way, are you sure you want me to accompany you into this room?”

“Of course. As my servant, you must accompany me until the very end. Any objections?”

“None at all! I’m honored to accompany the lady to the end!”

“Hmph, your flattery never changes; it’s as sweet as ever. Well then, let’s go inside together.”

Weirafiya placed her hand on the door, which wasn’t a push door but an automatic one. It would only open upon confirming that the visitor belonged to the life forms of this volcano.

*Drip…*

By the touch of Weirafiya’s palm, the door recognized her as one of the inhabitants of this volcano. The great door swung open.

“Hooh…”

As the door opened, a deafening roar came from inside the room.

“Indeed, there’s something in there, isn’t there?”

Weirafiya frowned, trying to imagine what kind of creature could be inside. She had seen it before in the game: the god beast that existed at the deepest part of the volcano’s God Palace, the pinnacle of all flame creatures.

Ifrit.

The door swung wide open, revealing Ifrit standing at the center of the room, watching Weirafiya and Arthur still standing outside.

Ifrit’s message was simple. If they wished to enter this room, they’d better be prepared for a fight. If they weren’t ready, it wouldn’t attack them if they stayed out.

But hey, now that they were here, how could they just back down? They had to have a proper showdown!

“Lady, that guy seems pretty strong; are you sure you’re up for this?”

Earlier, there had been a door blocking the flames, but now it was gone. Arthur could directly feel the fiery presence of the god beast. Just sensing this flame made him want to retreat.

“Why wouldn’t I be? As my servant, are you doubting my abilities as your master?”

“That’s not what I meant! It just seems like that guy is incredibly powerful. If you go in alone to challenge him, you might not have a chance, right? What if we just go back and wait for Aierjisi and the others to come help?”

Arthur quickly waved his hands, trying to explain what he meant. However, Weirafiya didn’t pay it any mind.

“Don’t worry, my strength exceeds your imagination. Besides, it’s just an Ifrit; I can handle it quickly. But you need to help me attack, got it?”

Unlike Aierjisi or Ailin, who were set up for solo quests, Weirafiya’s Job Change Mission involved defeating this Ifrit, and it could be done in a team. This meant her power was definitely above those players. A solo player, unless they had wallet powers or were a tech genius, wouldn’t stand a chance against this Ifrit.

“Ah, okay, but lady, you better be careful. When attacking, make sure not to catch me in your crossfire! I’m easy to lose!”

“Alright, alright, I get it! Don’t worry; I’ll protect you. Just focus on attacking. Let’s go and teach this guy a lesson!”

Weirafiya led Arthur into the room, telling Ifrit, “I’m here to beat you up. No need to hold back; come at me!”

After Ifrit let out a roar, it lunged at them. But Weirafiya, being a pureblood Phoenix, didn’t have just pretty wings. She immediately took to the air with Arthur, soaring above the room to find a chance to attack Ifrit.

On the other side…

“Oh no, looks like we’re late! That bastard Gilbaris has already gone in!”

Yake struggled up the mountain’s peak, staring at the wide-open God Palace gate, cursing silently.

【No time to hesitate; let’s hurry and catch up!】

“I know that without you saying it!”

Yake charged into the God Palace but stepped right into empty air.

“What the heck?! Who designed it so the floor is just missing as soon as you step in? Aaaahhh!!!”

As he felt himself falling, Yake couldn’t help but scream uncontrollably. Then he landed safely.

【What were you yelling about just now? Don’t forget I’m here too, okay? Do you think I’d let you fall on your behind?】

Aierjisi grumbled in his mind. Why did Yake’s reaction make it seem like she was just a decoration?

“Ah, I was just too scared earlier! Okay, okay, now that I’ve landed safely, let’s hurry up and catch up to Gilbaris!”

While apologizing to Aierjisi, Yake rushed to see if he could keep pace with Gilbaris. He had to compete with him this time.

“Hmm… given the situation, I suppose it’s not good to interfere.”

Gilbaris had arrived at the deepest part of the corridor, watching Weirafiya and Ifrit fighting it out in the room. He decided to observe for a while, waiting for the perfect moment to make his move.
