Chapter 53: I Got Instant-killed

Chapter 53: I Got Instant-killed

“Drink up!!!”

Just as Ifrit was about to take action against the obstructive Yaser, a loud crash echoed as Yake and Gilbaris, tangled together from their battle in the corridor, burst through the wall and tumbled into the room.

With new intruders in the room, Ifrit abandoned his attack on Yaser and shifted his focus to the freshly arrived Yake and Gilbaris.

“What the heck? Is that a giant lion? Get lost!”

Yake caught Ifrit’s attack and hurled him over to Gilbaris. He then dashed over to where Weirafiya was.

“What on earth happened? Why are you so badly hurt?”

Looking at the horrifying scar on Weirafiya’s chest, just seeing it made Yake wince in pain.

“Sorry you had to see this. Unfortunately, that’s just the way Phoenixes are. That Ifrit grabbed me, and well… this happened.”

“Can you guys help treat the lady? She can’t move at all like this.”

Just in time for Yake and the others to arrive, Yaser himself wasn’t good with healing spells and could only hope for Yake to lend a hand.

“Sure thing! Leave it to us. Aier, you can use healing magic, right?”

【Don’t just casually agree to others’ requests! Seriously, healing magic is fine. Just open your hand towards Weirafiya, and I’ll take care of her.】

“Oh, then I’ll leave it to you.”

Yake followed Aierjisi’s instructions and extended his hand, while Aierjisi unleashed her healing magic, emitting blue-white particles that mended Weirafiya’s wound.

“How about now? Do you feel any better?”

After the healing, Yake asked Weirafiya about her condition.

“Much better, thank you both! But speaking of which, what were you two doing? Why did it take you so long to get here?”

Honestly, even though they arrived just in time, Weirafiya still wished they had gotten there a bit sooner. If they had joined the fight earlier, she wouldn’t have been in such a dangerous situation.

“Oh come on, it’s a long story! We just had to fight that jerk over there because we had some unfinished business with him. We ended up falling into this room by accident. Looking at it now, it seems we arrived right on cue. By the way, where even is this place?”

Yake turned around to take in the room, utterly confused about what this place was.

“This is the God Palace of Flames, and that lion is the master here, the pinnacle of all fire creatures—Ifrit.”

【Eh? That guy is Ifrit? I thought he’d look a bit more majestic. Is this really how he looks?】

Aierjisi had heard about Ifrit from other players while browsing online, but since his character’s main quest didn’t involve this dungeon, this was his first time seeing Ifrit in the flesh.

“Well, since you’re here, let’s band together to take him down! If we beat him, I’ll get powered up!”

Weirafiya eyed Ifrit, who was still fighting Gilbaris. Alone, she definitely couldn’t handle him, but now that Aierjisi and the others had come into the room, they could join forces to defeat him.

“Sure, but should we maybe watch for a while first? After all, that guy is our enemy, right? Gilbaris is our enemy too. They’re busy fighting each other—wouldn’t it be better for us to just sit back and enjoy the show?”

After all, regardless of which one won, Aierjisi and the others could swoop in and take out the weakened victor. Fish and clams contesting, the fisherman profits. Isn’t that delightful?

“Pretty sensible reasoning there! Alright, let’s watch from the sidelines. Yaser, fetch me some snacks.”

Weirafiya was kind of tired from the previous battle and wanted to relax for a little bit. Yaser took out some pastries and passed them to Weirafiya and Yake, letting them enjoy some treats in this environment.

“Damn it, I don’t have time to be messing around with you!”

Gilbaris was getting anxious from Ifrit’s relentless attacks. He didn’t come here to battle this dumb lion—his target was the Phoenix nearby! Why did things turn out like this?

Gilbaris, feeling pressed, wanted to finish this fight quickly. But Ifrit, on the other hand, was only focused on defeating the intruder before dealing with the one right beside him—nothing more.

“Yes, yes, that’s it! Keep going! Kill him! Kill that bastard!”

The likes of Yake and the others seemed to think this “tiger fight” was lacking in excitement, further fanning the flames of the battle, hoping for a more intense showdown.

“Will you all just shut up over there? You’re driving me insane! Don’t you realize how frustrated I am right now?”

Gilbaris was getting really irked by their antics and, out of frustration, unleashed a lightning strike—only for it to be absorbed by Yake’s Magic Shield.

“Now’s not the time to mess with us. First, take down that lion in front of you.”

Weirafiya said, casually enjoying her pastries. She was feeling quite comfy now. With someone blocking attacks, she could sit back, munch on her treats, and watch the battle unfold—truly a sweet deal!

“You guys…”

Gilbaris was genuinely annoyed by their behavior and was ready to get serious. Just then, Ifrit launched another attack at him.

“Enough already! Just be quiet! Chaos Destruction!”

Gilbaris brought out his powerful move and blasted it at Ifrit, turning him into mere chunks of flesh on impact.

“What the—?!”

Weirafiya was momentarily stunned by the turn of events. Did he just instant-kill him? That Ifrit, whom she had struggled against, just got annihilated like that?

How strong was this guy? Just how powerful were Yake and the others, who could tangle with such a formidable foe?

“Finally dealt with that annoying guy! Now it’s your turn, so be prepared!”

Gilbaris stretched out his neck, pointing at Weirafiya and the others watching on the sidelines. With Ifrit dead, it was their turn next.

Of course, what Gilbaris didn’t realize was that by obliterating that monster, he had actually done Weirafiya a huge favor. With that beast defeated, the power sealed within it was now released.
