Chapter 54: Get Him!

“Ah, this power.”

Seeing the strength sealed within Ifrit being unleashed, Weirafiya dashed forward, determined to absorb all that power into her body. With that, she could get a boost!

“Not on my watch!”

Gilbaris naturally wouldn’t just let Weirafiya absorb that power without a fight. He launched an attack at her.

“Hey, that’s our line!”

Yake and Yaser rushed in to block Gilbaris’s assault, creating an opening for Weirafiya to absorb the power.

“Get out of my way, you two!”

Gilbaris was clearly furious now, and he was done holding back. He unleashed two energy waves, slamming into them and sending them flying.

Most of the attack hit Yake, which meant Yaser took less damage; otherwise, that hit might’ve just spelled his doom.

“Ah…”

As a result, the brunt of the attack tore Yake apart, reverting him back to his original form along with Aierjisi.

“Mr. Yake… Miss Aierjisi! Are you two alright?”

Seeing them revert, Yaser couldn’t help but worry about their injuries.

“Don’t worry about us. Hurry to Weirafiya! No one can stop Gilbaris’s attack now. Rush over!”

Aierjisi shouted at Yaser. She and Yake had just sustained too much damage to maintain their forms, but they weren’t really hurt otherwise. However, it would be impossible for them to fuse again for a while.

Right now, the most important thing was Weirafiya. Gilbaris had set his sights on her, and she needed protection.

Yaser understood this too. He heeded Aierjisi’s advice and dashed toward Weirafiya.

“I won’t mess this up again! Xine! Weirafiya!!!”

Gilbaris launched another attack aimed straight for Weirafiya. Yake was already taken out by his own attack. Now, there was no one left to block him! No one! No one!

“Ah—ah—ah—ah…”

Just as Yaser was about to shield Weirafiya, Aierjisi jumped in front and took the full force of Gilbaris’s attack, screaming in agony.

“Miss Aierjisi?!”

“Don’t mind me! Go quickly! This guy won’t kill me.”

Aierjisi gritted her teeth, enduring the pain, urging Yaser to move on. She was one of the six important sacrifices Gilbaris needed, so he wouldn’t go all out against her.

As it turned out, Aierjisi was right. Once Gilbaris saw her take the hit, he quickly adjusted the force of his attack, not wanting to accidentally kill her.

After absorbing Gilbaris’s full onslaught, Aierjisi collapsed to the ground, but Yake caught her.

“You really went all out, Aier. What if he got mad and actually killed you? I’d go down with you too!”

“Sorry, Yake. I didn’t think it through. But hey, look! I bet right, didn’t I?”

With a final smile for Yake, Aierjisi completely lost consciousness. Even if Gilbaris had held back, she was still pretty battered. Passing out now was quite the feat.

On the other side, the time Yake and Aierjisi bought for Weirafiya didn’t go to waste. Weirafiya absorbed the power that Ifrit had released, evolving to her second stage.

“Miss, are you alright?”

Seeing Weirafiya’s transformed appearance due to the absorbed power, Yaser couldn’t quite tell her condition.

“Of course! I feel amazing! Yaser, consider this a little reward. Catch!”

Weirafiya shot forth a ball of fire from her mouth, enveloping Yaser. Strangely, though Yaser was surrounded by flames, he felt no heat. Instead, this fire melded with the sword he was holding, granting it a brand new form.

“Miss, what on earth is this?”

Yaser gazed at the newly transformed sword, unable to hide his astonishment.

“How about that? Looks impressive, right? This is a gift from me. Show your gratitude; take me out for a meal when we get back. For now, we have work to do!”

Weirafiya returned her attention to Gilbaris, not forgetting his earlier intentions.

“Hey, you over there, Gil—you’re the one making trouble for me, right? Now I finally have some time to deal with you. Still up for a fight?”

With her new powers, Weirafiya felt buoyant. She was sure she could easily take down this guy named Gil.

“Hmph. So you think just because you got a bit of power, you can beat me? Let me show you the gap in our despairing power!”

Gilbaris wouldn’t be intimidated by just a few harsh words. Even after Aierjisi and the others powered up, they still weren’t a match for him. What difference did Weirafiya’s boost make? Seriously?

“I think it’s high time we test just how big that gap really is. Yaser, get ready!”

“Oh! I’m all set, just waiting for your command, Miss!”

Yaser wielded his sword, ready for battle.

“Looks like you’ve got some spirit! Alright, let’s go roast this guy to medium well today!”

Weirafiya let out a war cry and charged forward with Yaser, heading right for Gilbaris.
