Chapter 544: Guidance Professor for Dark Demon’s Club (4k)
“Meow!”
Ignoring the sharp gazes of the golems, Lily Laplace suddenly pounced on Dark Demon, pinning him to the ground almost on his face.
Dark Demon helplessly lifted the small imp with gentle movements and stood up, saying, “Why did you come so late?”
“Isn’t there a sorting ceremony to prepare for?” Lily stuck out her tongue, then glanced at the desk piled with textbooks.
Dark Demon replied, “Coming now, will one day be enough?”
Lily floated in the air, looking like a little adult as she patted his shoulder, saying, “Dark! You must believe in Professor Bacon!”
The professor about to ascend, Professor Bacon.
Dark Demon rolled his eyes, took out the painstakingly written Mathematics II from the drawer, and threw it at Lily.
“Smack!”
Lily clapped her hands and caught Mathematics II, then flipped through it excitedly.
As previously agreed, Dark only wrote the main content, while the polishing and accompanying exercises were left to Lily and Professor Bacon.
Originally, if Lily and Professor Bacon wanted to use Mathematics II as a second-year textbook, they first had to thoroughly understand its contents, with polishing and creating exercises being secondary.
Of course, Lily clearly intended to shift all the trouble onto Professor Bacon…
But this was largely unrelated to Dark.
“Hand over money, hand over goods.”
Once Lily quickly flipped through it, Dark waved the selection card in front of her.
Lily gave him a flirtatious wink and teased, “A priest can leave but not the church; don’t worry, I won’t renege on my promise.”
Then she pulled out her own selection card and placed it on top of Dark’s.
“Beep—”
The transfer notification sounded, and five thousand credits instantly appeared on Dark’s selection card!
The renewed wealth brought a smile to Dark’s face.
However, he hadn’t forgotten the agreed amount of credits… which was actually ten thousand!
“Only five thousand more?” Dark flicked his selection card and said coldly.
“Hehe.” Lily tilted her head, trying to dodge the issue.
But could Dark Demon be easily fooled?
Seeing him cross his arms and smirk, Lily suddenly turned around, flapping her wings to escape.
Yet Dark merely raised his chin slightly, and both the imp beast and Deoxys blocked her path.
Lily’s eyes darted, and she hurriedly said, “The other half belongs to Professor Bacon, not me! At most, I’ll introduce you to Professor Bacon tomorrow, and you can ask her yourself…”
Dark’s heart stirred, and he immediately understood, “So, you haven’t actually reached an agreement with Professor Bacon?”
Lily’s expression froze, whistling as she glanced upward.
From her appearance, it seemed not even a discussion had taken place — yet five thousand credits were indeed no small sum. Few professors would consider giving students such a large number of credits.
If Professor Bacon could see the value of Mathematics II, she might even offer fifty thousand credits.
“Let’s wait until the textbooks are printed, and we can have tea together.”
Dark carefully proposed.
“Alright, let’s make that deal!”
Lily suddenly turned around, looking triumphant.
Dark suddenly recalled that Lily had long ago invited him to a math tea party.
He fell silent.
…
Due to time constraints, Lily didn’t stay in Dark’s dorm for long.
After she left with Mathematics II, Dark finally smiled.
These five thousand credits were just right for building the “Magical Animal Club”!
Unlike others, he had already received a special promise from Principal Altair at the end of last semester, allowing him to bypass regulations and directly obtain permissions and classrooms. He could restart the “Magical Animal Club” at the beginning of the term.
This meant he could start recruiting members for the club during the first weekend after the new term officially began, just like other clubs.
For a newly established club, this was crucial.
Any club needed talent, and maintaining the minimum number of members—five—was essential.
…
After making a simple plan at his desk, Dark bathed and changed, preparing for bed.
Tomorrow was Sunday, and before the formal start of the term, students had a whole day to adjust.
He could use this time to build the “Magical Animal Club”!
The weather was perfect tonight.
Dark changed into his pajamas, yawned, and prepared to get into bed.
But just as he lifted the covers, three long knocks followed by a short one came from the door.
Dark hadn’t set any such signal; the visitor likely had a habit of knocking this way.
“Who could it be at this hour?”
Dark thought irritably.
With a nod from Dark, the imp beast flew to the door and opened it soon.
Immediately, a fresh fruit fragrance filled the room, invigorating the senses.
Dark relaxed his expression and said, “Is it Aurora?”
“Yes,” Aurora struggled to speak, “Good evening, Dark.”
“Good evening.” Dark abandoned the idea of getting into bed and headed toward the entrance.
They met at the threshold.
Aurora held a silver basin larger than herself, covered with a transparent lid.
Through the lid, one could see a slightly viscous liquid mixed with abundant fruit pieces, emitting a cool aura.
“Ice-cold fruit soup,” Aurora whispered when she noticed Dark’s attention, “Olivia asked me to prepare night meals for you every evening. Fortunately, I was assigned to the Noble Academy; otherwise, entering the tower might have been difficult.”
“Every night, night meal?”
Dark felt as if “Gluttony” were sprinting ahead.
He hurriedly said, “No need to go through so much trouble. If I want night meals, I usually have the imp beast fetch something from the cafeteria.
You’re just starting your studies; don’t let this distract you. By the way, if you have any questions or difficulties, feel free to come to me. I’m usually either in the dorm or the library.”
Aurora spoke shyly, “It’s just a little food; it won’t take much time.”
Dark knew her well enough to know that despite her delicate appearance, she had a stubborn streak.
He took the silver basin and asked, “Where did you make this?”
“I borrowed the kitchen from the cafeteria,” Aurora whispered, “The half-elf aunts are as kind as you said. Once I earn some credits, I’ll buy cooking equipment for the dorm balcony.”
Dark nodded, “Study hard, and credits won’t be a problem.”
He carried the silver basin to the table and took out several small silver bowls from the cabinet, summoning golems to help wash them. Then, he distributed the fruit soup into each bowl.
Pouring the remaining bits into his own bowl, Dark picked up a spoon and tasted.
The moment the fruit soup touched his lips, a cool sensation exploded in his mouth, reaching his heart.
“Did you use mint?” Dark asked.
Aurora shook her head, “A similar ingredient, but milder than mint.”
Dark savored it and found it true.
The sweetness of the fruit blended perfectly with the mint-like coolness, especially enhanced by the ice-cold texture.
Dark exclaimed, “I’ve heard your cooking is good, but I never imagined it would be this amazing.”
Aurora lowered her head, her neck and ears turning red, “Not really…”
…
While tasting the fruit soup, Dark asked Aurora about the first-year schedule, finding it mostly unchanged from his first year.
The only surprising change was that “Arithmetic” class had been directly renamed “Mathematics”!
“Bacon was in second year last year, now she should be in third year…”
“So, who is the first-year arithmetic teacher? And who stole my textbooks without paying royalties?”
Dark felt he needed to investigate!
…
Once the large bowl of fruit soup was finished, Aurora left Dark’s dorm satisfied.
She went downstairs, humming softly, feeling light and airy.
That was exactly how she felt, the feeling she desired!
At the duchess’s mansion, Olivia’s care was too meticulous, leaving no room for her to shine.
Now, in the academy, she could finally show her skills.
“What should I do tomorrow night?”
She smiled sweetly.
…
Eating before sleeping wasn’t a good habit.
Dark stepped onto the balcony, gazing towards the Fool’s Academy Tower, sighing inwardly.
Later, he practiced “Technique of the Shadow God” for half an hour before falling asleep again.
…
The night’s heavy rain made the castle air exceptionally fresh.
On the first night at Saint Maryann Academy, freshmen spent their time in sudden downpour.
Some were lost, others excited, and some felt nothing.
The vampire princess hugged her knees on the bed, her neatly made bed still crooked, her pillow still lacking a cover.
The spacious dorm felt alien to her, used to group living since birth.
Loneliness crept in.
But she clenched her teeth and endured.
Not being assigned to the Knight Academy actually upset her, though she believed in her courage.
“I must show them I am brave too. Sniff, Dark.”
…
Coincidentally.
The phoenix girl in the Knight Academy Tower also couldn’t sleep.
She moved her bed to the corner, curling up in the dark corner, wrapped in a blanket, pondering.
Her upcoming academic life would be challenging.
…
In contrast,
the two young princesses slept soundly without a care.
For the first time sleeping alone, their unruly sleep positions were exposed, like turtles on a fire, sleeping in the same pose.
…
On September 2nd, many people chose to sleep in until noon, but Dark was not among them.
He had readjusted to the academy’s rhythm.
By eight o’clock, he was refreshed and left the dorm.
Though Principal Altair had facilitated the creation process of the club, bypassing important reviews, necessary procedures still had to be followed.
Dark arrived at Professor Shylph’s office and found someone already inside.
He knocked on the office door.
“Knock knock knock.”
“Come in.”
The door wasn’t locked from the inside.
Dark turned the handle and entered.
“Dark?”
Professor Shylph looked up slightly, puzzled.
“Good morning, Professor.”
Dark saluted slightly and then said, “Professor, I want to create a club.”
Professor Shylph suddenly remembered and smiled, “The Magical Animal Club, right?”
Dark’s lips curved into a smile, nodding, “Yes.”
A trace of memory flashed in Professor Shylph’s eyes as she smiled, “I never thought I’d see this club again. I think Altair told you everything at the end of last semester, but it’s been three months, so memories may have faded. Wait here for a moment, I’ll prepare some documents for you.”
“Thank you, Professor Shylph.”
Dark sat down on the sofa and brewed tea himself.
Once he served Professor Shylph a cup, he finally got the documents.
The documents weren’t thick, and he read them quickly.
They basically outlined the rules and precautions for creating a club.
Although he could take shortcuts, he should still know the original complex procedures.
Professor Shylph said, “The Magical Animal Club is very special because ‘magical animals’ is a broad concept. The club’s interaction with magical animals isn’t limited to research; actually, raising magical animals is its biggest feature. Clubs like this, which cause chaos, should have been disbanded.”
Dark: “But they weren’t.”
Professor Shylph nodded, “Yes. Because the initial founders of the club possess special abilities to tame and manage magical animals.
And subsequent members are very responsible, ensuring they don’t neglect magical animals. Even if accidents happen, they handle them promptly. In other words, they’ve gained the trust of the administration.”
Dark couldn’t help but ponder, “Indeed, magical animals are diverse with unique traits. Without the ability to tame and manage them, they would only cause chaos.
Professor, can I have Professor Nina as the club’s guidance professor? With her abilities, she can surely manage magical animals perfectly.”
“Isn’t it Lily?” Professor Shylph asked in surprise.
“Eh, oh, hehe.” Dark’s gaze drifted, and he sighed, “Then Lily.”
Professor Shylph watched his expressions and couldn’t help but laugh, “You doing this will make Lily sad.”
Dark waved his hand, “Don’t worry, she’s probably busy now.”
“MeowMeow!”
But the sudden voice made Dark’s expression change slightly.
Lily poked half her body through the ceiling, diving into the room, raising her eyebrows at Dark, her mouth pouting high.
She was completely in the mode of “If you don’t soothe me, I’ll cry in front of you”!
