The Forbidden Land, partly within the Nine Heavens and mostly outside of it.
The origins of the Forbidden Land are ancient.
It is said to have come from beyond the heavens, hiding terrifying entities within.
Not only are there terrifying beings, but the Forbidden Land also contains strange energy that greatly suppresses the beings of this realm when they venture inside.
The powerful figures of this realm, be they Celestial Lords or Great Emperors, have all tried to wipe out the Forbidden Lands; some have been eradicated while others persist.
Lu Ye had also annihilated three Forbidden Lands in his past life.
However, he was polluted in the process, and it took him a long time to cleanse the contamination.
The beings within the Forbidden Land are rarely seen, much like members of the Dark Clan, with few in number.
An Li knows exactly what exists within the Forbidden Land.
It is akin to divine beings, existing beyond the heavens and breaching the barriers of this realm to descend upon it.
Of course, they aren’t as powerful as divine beings.
Otherwise, they would have already aligned with outside forces to breach this realm, and their entrance here came at a steep cost.
In the ages gone by, new Forbidden Lands would quietly emerge over time, but ever since the Great Sage of the Nine Heavens became a Saint, no new Forbidden Lands have appeared.
Each time a Saint arises, they would sweep away a batch of Forbidden Lands.
When the Great Sage of the Nine Heavens became a Saint, they were incredibly busy—first clearing out those inconsequential beasts and slaughtering almost all life in the heavens and earth.
Then, they shaped the Nine Heavens to provide ordinary beings with a place to recuperate.
Thirdly, they taught the Dao and corrected the heavenly laws.
Lastly, they thoroughly cleaned up the Forbidden Lands, but before they could finish, they hastily left behind their laws and disappeared.
Overall, the formidable Forbidden Lands had been largely cleared, leaving behind only those that are not particularly strong.
By “not particularly strong,” it means there might be Celestial Lord-level beings present, but whether they are alive or dead is unknown.
Essentially, any place that can be deemed a Forbidden Land typically houses a Great Emperor.
An Li’s suggestion left everyone in silence.
“Let me clarify again: in my past life, the Sea of Blood Celestial Lord underwent extreme evolution, consuming the laws of the Great Sage of the Nine Heavens, exactly nine thousand seven hundred years later. However, in this life, Lu Ye has no burdens by his side, so his cultivation speed has reached an astonishing level.”
“At his age, he was still in the Fifth Heaven, but now he’s already in the Seventh Heaven, and his strength is even greater than in the past.”
“The Darkness Origin is Lu Ye’s enemy, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it aimed to revive the Sea of Blood Celestial Lord ahead of time; considering Lu Ye’s current pace of cultivation, never mind nine thousand seven hundred years, even five thousand years, he could attain the path to becoming an Emperor.”
“Once Lu Ye becomes an Emperor, even if the Darkness Origin incites the dark turmoil, he would be able to put an end to it, so the Darkness Origin can’t afford to wait that long.”
“We may only have three thousand years left because the thing I left in Lu Ye’s body will activate when he becomes a Quasi-Emperor.”
“Everyone, please consider!”
An Li laid the situation bare for everyone in the Dark Clan.
Three thousand years!
To set up the altar, the Dark Clan needs a tremendous amount of resources; otherwise, they won’t be able to start anything at all.
At this point, Lu Ye should have already become a Quasi-Emperor.
He would have the conditions to summon divine beings from above.
In five thousand years, Lu Ye will attain Emperor status, and by then, his battle power will be explosive; he could easily wipe out the Dark Clan by himself.
The dark turmoil could erupt at any moment. Once it does, without a doubt, the Reincarnation Celestial Lord will be the first to come and exterminate the Dark Clan. After all, during the last dark turmoil, the Reincarnation Celestial Lord never intervened—there was plenty of time.
Time is running out for the Dark Clan.
“An Li, can you contact the Darkness Origin?” An Ri asked.
An Li furrowed her brow and pondered for a moment.
“I can!”
She, being within the Dark Clan, could block the Darkness Origin. But the instant she steps outside, the Darkness Origin would lock onto her location immediately.
“We might need to collaborate with the Darkness Origin and ask about its stance,” An Ri said.
“Collaborate for what?” An Li asked.
“The Darkness Origin’s objective is simply to become the Heavenly Dao of this world. If we can lure down divine beings, this realm would be within arm’s reach. At that point, promising the position of Heavenly Dao to the Darkness Origin wouldn’t be a bad deal, right?” An Ri asked.
An Li’s brows knitted tighter.
This method, how do I put it…
It can be said that if the Darkness Origin has any pride or ambition at all, it wouldn’t agree.
After all, the conflict between the Darkness Origin and the Heavenly Dao is ultimately an internal matter of the realm, like a prince and a crown prince squabbling over the throne.
Now, you tell the prince, you don’t want to be emperor, so let’s team up. After I conquer your kingdom, I’ll make you emperor. That sounds good, right?
Obviously, that wouldn’t fly!
An Li now realized that while An Ri might have great talent in cultivation, his intelligence wasn’t necessarily better than hers.
“We can’t say that to the Darkness Origin; I don’t think it would agree,” An Li stated.
“But isn’t the Darkness Origin already at a point where it’s out of options?” An Ri questioned.
An Li couldn’t help but take a breath.
“Family Head, the Darkness Origin hasn’t even begun to exert its strength yet, alright?”
She was genuinely speechless. The Darkness Origin has so many Great Emperors and Celestial Lords within; it’s only lost a few Quasi-Emperors. How could it possibly be out of options?
And you think the Darkness Origin might even consider the Dark Clan? They aren’t even on the same level unless more divine beings descend with additional power.
It turns out that the Dark Clan hasn’t developed over such a long period for a reason.
The reason lies with this Family Head.
An Ri’s brow furrowed tighter.
He indeed wasn’t very skilled at this matter.
Honestly, he was already at a loss as to what to do.
An Li contemplated.
“We need to seize Lu Ye quickly; I’ll contact the Darkness Origin first. You guys be careful; the Darkness Origin’s attitude toward me is uncertain. If it shows intent to attack, immediately pull me back into the Small World!”
“If the Darkness Origin agrees to cooperate, then I’ll also reach out to the Forbidden Land for a multi-pronged alliance; I refuse to believe we still can’t catch Lu Ye!”
Even though the failure had only occurred recently, An Li was truly unable to hold back.
Every second, Lu Ye was growing stronger, and An Li felt a pair of blood-red eyes glaring at her intently, closing in ever closer.
In this situation, An Li had even given up on her own cultivation, consumed by thoughts of how to counter Lu Ye.
Because she understood that no amount of hard work would help her catch up with Lu Ye.
So, An Li stepped outside the Dark Clan.
At that very moment, the Darkness Origin instantly locked onto her.
