Chapter 55: Welcome to the Thunder Wolf Dragon Forest

The Thunder Wolf Dragon, an extreme yet stylish Fang Dragon type monster that even Jié Jié admired, especially the one encountered around the Ancient Trees, which gave him an impression of a dignified elder.

Without any yelling or provocation, but every movement carried the thunderous roar.

“Awoo!”

This Thunder Wolf Dragon roared, bringing Jié Jié’s impression of this species back on track.

Without further observation or greetings, and without warning, its body lit up with lightning light as it charged towards the Sky Dog Beast like a second-rate husky.

But who else would it attack if Jié Jié was standing right in the middle of the path where the Thunder Wolf Dragons usually patrol?

Jié Jié casually threw a pebble, hitting the walnut vine above the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s running path.

The fragments of walnuts mixed with the “pitter-patter” explosion hit the Thunder Wolf Dragon, but its tough fur deflected them all.

If only it had hit its head; what a pity.

Jié Jié shook his head. Facing the approaching dim thunder, he still had time to pat the young dragons’ bodies, signaling them to run away quickly.

When the young dragons reacted to the pressure of the bulldozer-like presence, the forest thug rose from the ground, taking large strides and using his shoulder to meet the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s charge.

“Boom!”

“Woo~”

Despite being two-wheel drive versus four-wheel drive, it was the four-wheel-drive Thunder Wolf Dragon that stumbled and rolled backward.

The Savage Jaw Dragon stepped forward with tiger-like steps, stabilizing himself with his massive claws on the ground, moving steadily.

He watched as the Thunder Wolf Dragon flipped itself upright and took a step back to create distance.

The wolf howled, calling out to its symbiotic Thunder Light Bugs.

The Thunder Light Bugs responded, emerging from the trees and swirling around the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

Its silver-white fur shook off, releasing the current within it. The current itself was weak, but this slight current activated the already hidden Thunder Light Bugs among its fur.

These super-activated bugs conducted electricity through their buzzing wings, enhancing their host’s powers.

Through symbiosis and mutual support, the bug handler and his Hunter Insect worked in perfect harmony, transforming into nature’s most wondrous coexistence. However, the Savage Jaw Dragon let out a disdainful roar at this individual.

No other reason—just practice makes perfect.

“It’s nowhere near as good as that guy.”

Jié Jié was not intimidated by the roar and had no intention of letting the Thunder Wolf Dragon enter its ultra-electrified state. He ran forward, lowering his head and charging directly at it.

Using the strength of his neck, he lifted his head like an uppercut, making the Thunder Wolf Dragon raise its upper body.

“Roar!”

With its body struck upward, the Thunder Wolf Dragon raised its arms, and Jié Jié immediately recognized its next move.

The raised head opened its blood-filled mouth, flipping the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s chest to prevent a counterattack.

“Woo!”

Thrown to the ground, the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s process of generating electricity with the Thunder Light Bugs was completely interrupted, emitting a sorrowful groan.

Now forced to roll around on the ground, it struggled under the Savage Jaw Dragon’s blood-filled mouth.

If the first Thunder Wolf Dragon Jié Jié met was a master weapon artist who instantly activated three lights, gracefully maneuvering in the air,

Then the one before him now is a player of the Bug Control Stick who couldn’t activate the lights for half the time, rolling around on the ground after being pressed by monsters.

It might not want to roll around so clumsily, but simply lacked the opportunity to fly gracefully like the former.

The Thunder Wolf Dragon’s back was wide, its neck short, its front claws long and its hind claws short. While rolling around smoothly, it resembled a solid cube, and Jié Jié gestured several times, finding it hard to find a suitable spot to bite.

One could only say that this Thunder Wolf Dragon was really good at rolling, controlling its invincible frames quite well.

The Thunder Light Bugs also noticed the crisis of their novice handler and realized that if they didn’t come out soon, they would be crushed by their rolling symbiont.

The already active Supercharged Lightning Bugs continuously emerged from the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s fur, colliding against the Savage Jaw Dragon.

They only caused some sharp stinging pain, nothing significant.

Since there was no easy place to bite, then don’t bite.

“Hum~”

A large yellow mass of sticky mucus was exhaled, sticking onto the Thunder Wolf Dragon.

The Savage Jaw Dragon’s back membrane opened to assist in cooling down, collecting heat generated during the run with its Flame Bag, finally surging up the throat and transforming into a fiery column spewed from its mouth.

“Awo~”

The Thunder Wolf Dragon rolled to dodge, but it could dodge once, not twice.

As Jié Jié looked up, the fire column chased after it until the scorching power was projected onto its body, igniting the smeared fuel, turning it into a torch.

This guy just got up from rolling and fell again.

Though disheveled, it successfully extinguished the flames on its body, and even its fur wasn’t burned too short.

This was partly due to the Savage Jaw Dragon’s snot mainly coating the yellow insulating shell rather than the fur.

“Awoo!”

Relying on its martial arts, the Thunder Wolf Dragon stood up again, howling loudly as the Supercharged Lightning Bugs returned to its fur upon its call, continuing the previous progress, finally awakening the Thunder Light state.

Seeing the Thunder Wolf Dragon shining with blue lightning all over, resembling a descended thunder god, Jié Jié’s eyes revealed an anticipatory gleam.

Every encounter with the Thunder Wolf Dragon brings surprises—the extremely handsome old individual was one, and this Thunder Wolf Dragon rolling around on the ground was another, and now, after finally activating the lights—

In Jié Jié’s anticipation, the Thunder Wolf Dragon entered its ultra-electrified state and burst forth with incredible speed!

Only, instead of charging towards the Savage Jaw Dragon, it fled like mad.

Alright, very unique, this can also be considered a surprise.

Jié Jié helplessly stood there, watching the Thunder Light Bugs flapping their wings aimlessly in the air, some chasing after, others returning to rest on the trees.

Hum.

The Savage Jaw Dragon snorted, forming a nose crown with its nostrils, secreting a bit of flammable mucus, wiping it onto the tree.

Unhygienic? No, this is marking territory!

Jié Jié did not rush to recall the young dragons but walked forward with them, separated by a barrier of trees.

Accompanying him from the valley of the Ancient Tree to the primeval forest north of the Ancient Tree, from spring to summer, they were now as tall as half a Scratcher Bird.

They completed their first real hunt along the way, targeting Herbivore Dragons.

And when they encountered danger in battle, they could leave him behind and run away, which was good, not becoming a burden to him in battle.

When alone, they could also run and hide, giving him great peace of mind.

But before he took a few more steps, Jié Jié heard continuous wolf howls echoing through this primeval forest.

Soon after, a rushing sound came from ahead, and the previously fleeing Thunder Wolf Dragon returned with two companions.

Three Thunder Wolf Dragons glared angrily at Jié Jié, their bodies shaking with lightning.

“Hmm… Welcome to the Thunder Wolf Dragon Forest?”
