Chapter 56: He’s a Thunder Wolf Dragon Now!
“Rawr, Rawwwr!”
Three Thunder Wolf Dragons roared in unison as they charged towards the Savage Jaw Dragon like a single entity.
With Supercharged Lightning Bugs fluttering about in mid-air acting as conduits, electric currents danced across the bodies of the Thunder Wolf Dragons, transferring energy to help each other reach an ultra-electrified state.
“BOOM!”
Jié Jié wasn’t idle; pillars of flame shot from his mouth, creating walls of fire along their path.
The highly coordinated legs of the Thunder Wolf Dragons flexed with incredible body flexibility, leaping high into the air to soar over the flames before smashing down onto the Savage Jaw Dragon.
“ROAR!”
Jié Jié’s fiery maw opened wide, meeting the incoming Thunder Wolf Dragon head-on.
The Savage Jaw Dragon reared back, carrying the Thunder Wolf Dragon in its jaws with terrifying force.
Staggering backwards, disheveled and struggling, he had to use his tail for support.
Fine blood vessels in his waist ruptured as he twisted, unleashing extreme strength through his neck.
“BOOM!”
The Thunder Wolf Dragon landed, but only after being bitten and flipped onto the ground by him.
Sweet-tasting blood stained Jié Jié’s tongue—it was his own blood.
His own blood also tinged his eyes, igniting a fierce aggressiveness.
“CRACK.”
As he strained his jaws, the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s shell cracked under the pressure, squeezing out fresh blood that splattered into the Savage Jaw Dragon’s mouth, where it was tasted by his tongue.
The second Thunder Wolf Dragon arrived, its blinding lightning forcing Jié Jié to close his eyes as he violently shook his head.
He hurled the Thunder Wolf Dragon in his mouth like a weapon, colliding with its companion and letting out a mournful groan before crashing into a giant tree beside the road.
Sharp teeth from beneath Jié Jié’s lips flew off along with the brutal force, but fragments of the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s shell and fur remained in his mouth, soaked in blood.
The third bolt of lightning came.
Jié Jié crouched low, using a Dragon Charge maneuver to dodge the lightning, then charging towards the two Thunder Wolf Dragons who were still shaking their heads and getting up.
The bolt of lightning grazed his raised hindquarters, tearing at his fur, leaving behind wounds that healed instantly.
“HMPH!”
The smaller Thunder Wolf Dragon, which Jié Jié had previously used as a makeshift weapon, was the first to rise. Seeing the gaping maw coming at it again seemed to leave a deep psychological scar, causing it to leap back hastily, dragging its bloodied body away.
Its action exposed the second Thunder Wolf Dragon, still struggling to stand, directly in front of Jié Jié—
The Blood-filled Mouth dragged over the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s hard-to-grasp body, gradually closing until it locked onto its forelimbs. Lifting his head, he pulled it up, then slammed it forcefully into the ground.
Supercharged Lightning Bugs struck Jié Jié’s body, sending waves of stinging pain.
“RAWRWOOO!”
The other two Thunder Wolf Dragons noticed their comrade’s perilous situation. One wriggled its body, flinging clusters of Supercharged Lightning Bugs from its tail, initiating a suicidal attack with all its might.
The ball-like cluster of lightning bugs lacked power but made up for it in sheer numbers.
Other lightning bugs clung together in the air, conducting electricity to the ground like lightning strikes.
Jié Jié shuffled his steps, crouching low and using the Thunder Wolf Dragon planted in the ground as a meat shield, deflecting a significant portion of the direct attacks.
Another Thunder Wolf Dragon, the one Jié Jié fought here for the first time, the one that brought a companion to avenge itself, lifted its front claws, bypassing its fallen ally, and smashed down with electrified force.
“HUH?”
Striking empty air, the Thunder Wolf Dragon let out a confused sound, raising its head to sniff out the scent of the Savage Jaw Dragon.
In the next moment, a shadow leapt from the tree, landing a heavy blow on its raised head. One of its eyes swelled up, and it collapsed directly onto the ground.
Before the strike ended, the blade-wing unleashed another pursuit attack.
A horn on the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s head broke off, spinning in the air before embedding itself into the ground.
After dodging behind the Thunder Wolf Dragon, Jié Jié transformed into a Swift Dragon, perching atop an ancient giant tree to wait.
This guy’s head just happened to raise up, and not dealing a harsh blow would be unforgivable.
When leaving the tree, the emerald hue of the Swift Dragon faded.
Jié Jié liked black, disliked green, and if there was no need for camouflage, he wouldn’t want to transform into a Green Swift Dragon.
The Thunder Wolf Dragon he used as a meat shield had just pulled itself out of the ground when he slapped it back unconscious.
Looking up, he saw that the last remaining small Thunder Wolf Dragon had already disappeared into the distance.
The Swift Dragon turned around, its tail rising softly before splitting down with overwhelming force.
“RAWRR!”
The Thunder Wolf Dragon’s cries of agony were accompanied by the sound of its shell breaking.
Jié Jié turned back, continuously swiping his claws, shattering piece after piece of the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s shell.
Bleeding profusely, the sight was pitiful. Another Thunder Wolf Dragon struggled so much that it kicked itself away, stood up, and immediately ran off.
Ignoring it, the Swift Dragon Blade-Wing’s final three combo hits struck between the neck and head, ending the life of the Thunder Wolf Dragon before him.
He crouched on the Thunder Wolf Dragon and began feeding.
The Swift Dragon’s mouth was too small, making eating inconvenient, so Jié Jié transformed back into a Savage Jaw Dragon to feast heartily, eating hastily as if afraid that the two fleeing Thunder Wolf Dragons would return with more companions to punish him.
The meat of the Thunder Wolf Dragon… well, you definitely shouldn’t eat it with the fur, or else your mouth will be full of crackling Lightning Bugs.
Jié Jié learned his lesson; his mouth went numb, and he couldn’t even taste properly.
Four Fire Dragon heads peeked out from the low bushes, flapping their wings and rushing to Jié Jié’s side to join in the meal.
In the frenzy of eating, the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s gemstone was also clawed out. Jié Jié held the jade gently shaking it, the gazes of the Fire Dragons following the movement of the jade.
He had long determined that gems had a special attraction even to ordinary monsters; the宝玉of Terror Tyrant left a particularly strong impression, only causing unease among dragons.
Ignoring the Fire Dragons’ desires, these kinds of gems were definitely for his consumption.
The Thunder Wolf Dragon’s jade rolled down his throat, filling the Thunder Wolf Dragon’s totem box.
After a long while, Jié Jié finally experienced effective enhancement.
His entire body’s resilience greatly improved; the Savage Jaw Dragon could take larger strides. The intense rebound that once injured himself now became effortless, allowing him to even bite his own tail.
The improvement in resilience was comprehensive, enhancing agility and increasing resistance to attacks.
At the same time, needle-like pains spread across his skin, and the hair on the Savage Jaw Dragon’s back stood on end like a pincushion.
Thunder Wolf Dragons have hair that acts as capacitors and shells for insulation, but the Savage Jaw Dragon lacks any such compatibility.
Perhaps… the Thunder Jaw Dragon can?
Moreover, some nearby Thunder Light Bugs seemed drawn by something, crawling onto the Savage Jaw Dragon’s fur, seemingly replenishing special electrical currents.
These weren’t the most important things.
The upper body of the Savage Jaw Dragon lay flat on the ground, its forelimbs covered in shell stretched longer and thicker, while the hind limbs shortened.
Sharp yellow horns pointed forward, static-charged hair stood upright, welcoming every Thunder Light Bug to settle within.
“Rawr!”
He was a Thunder Wolf Dragon now!
Post-publication Thoughts, Some Arrangements
Ah, it’s been a month since I started writing this new book, and it’s time to go public again.
My first book was about Ark, and after finishing it, the feeling of closure made it hard for me to write a second book about Ark, which may disappoint some readers.
I don’t like how every new beginning is overshadowed by old impressions. I might not write about boats anymore since it’s all over.
This time around, things are smoother than the first time, but pre-publication anxiety is worse.
The early part of the new book might be a bit slow and lengthy, as the timeline is set forty years before the arrival of the Investigation Team in the New Continent.
This decision was made because I didn’t just want to write about the New Continent. Flying Dragons should have dreams of flying across oceans, and Sea Dragons should try swimming from one continent to another, filling in aquatic ecological gaps.
Give me back the Sea Dragons of the New Continent!
Meaning that Jié Jié will have the chance to leave the New Continent and see the scenery of the Old Continent.
Of course, human priority remains number one.
The main interactions and the joining of various characters will naturally occur when the first team of the Investigation Corps follows the storm to the New Continent.
But it won’t be long, when Jié Jié leaves the forest of the Thunder Wolf Dragons, loops around the lush areas, and returns to that coast.

Alright, that concludes my post-publication thoughts. Please turn to the next page~

Monster Life Starting from Collecting Materials
Status: Ongoing
When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
