Chapter 422: Report
Under the clear sky lay an endless sea, with seabirds freely soaring in the sky. With the sea breeze blowing, the surface of the sea shimmered with ripples.
On this vast sea, there was a white cruise ship slowly moving forward, leaving a long trail of waves behind it.
This cruise ship had just departed from Navaha not long ago. At this moment, Dorothy was sitting in the first-class cabin of the ship, occasionally looking around at the clean cabin and sometimes gazing out of the porthole at the vast sea.
‘The environment is acceptable… although it’s much worse compared to the cabins on a cruise ship like the Shining White Pearl, it’s at least clean and comfortable.’
Sitting on the fixed seat by the porthole, Dorothy evaluated her journey’s environment in her heart. Although it was much smaller and simpler than the luxurious cabin on the Shining White Pearl, she could still accept it. After all, this was already the best cabin on the ship. There were two other types of cabins: one for four people and another for over ten people. Having a single room was already a blessing.
‘Although the cabin is decent… I still miss the luxurious cabin on the Shining White Pearl. It was truly comfortable…’
Sitting on the chair, Dorothy looked around and thought nostalgically, the Shining White Pearl was the most comfortable mode of transportation she had ever used. Everything was great except for the cultists on board. Unfortunately, she had destroyed it herself.
‘If I have the chance in the future… I should find another luxurious cruise ship for a trip. I’ll do thorough research beforehand to make sure there are no troublesome things on board.’
Standing up from the chair, Dorothy lay back on the bed, daydreaming. Then she began to think about the situation in Navaha and her current plans.
‘No matter what, I managed to get out of Navaha before the Church started its large-scale search. I originally thought it would take them one or two days, but they arrived the same day…
Looking back, those people must have been called in to handle the Abyss Cult. They ended up encountering the Black Dream causing trouble. With all these issues piled up, those guys must be very busy.’
Dorothy pondered. She had become accustomed to quickly causing problems for the local official extraordinary organizations wherever she went.
‘But come to think of it, why did the Black Dream Hunter Group choose that day to pupate the moth? The Church’s fleet and extraordinary beings were all gathered at the port. Pupating meant direct combat. Couldn’t they choose another time to pupate after the Church’s people left? Why rush so desperately, forcing a confrontation with the Church? Was it because they concluded they were exposed after the failed reconnaissance at the church and wanted to take a desperate gamble? That level of strategic determination seems a bit lacking.’
Lying on the bed, Dorothy thought, puzzled by the sudden pupation of the moth by the Black Dream Hunter Group. However, she quickly shifted her thoughts to her current goal.
‘The city I’m heading to is called Trua. According to the intelligence gathered from Navaha, this is the largest city in the southern region of Castia. While it’s not as big as Tivyán, it’s much larger than Navaha and is the closest major city. Such a scale of city should have a branch of the White Stone Craftsmen Guild…
Now, Neve’s study group has finished visiting Navaha and will likely sail to Trua tomorrow to transfer to Iwig. Vania’s fleet is also about to set sail. In this way, we won’t need many more days to reach our destination. It’s not easy…’
Thinking about Neve and Vania’s current itinerary, Dorothy thought to herself. If they had followed the original plan, they would have already been in Iwig instead of wandering around endlessly.
Fortunately, everyone has finally started their journey. At this moment, Dorothy hoped that her upcoming journey would go smoothly, at least with fewer problems.
…
North coast of Conquer Sea, Navaha.
The southern port area of Navaha was bustling with activity. After several days of docking, the Church fleet was preparing to set sail again, starting their pilgrimage journey to Iwig once more.
“Finally, it’s time to set off again… I originally thought it would only be a short stop, but so many unexpected things happened.”
Sitting in her cabin, Sister Vania, dressed in white, couldn’t help but murmur as she watched the bustling scene outside the window. Dorothy had already briefly informed her about the strange events in the city this morning and the specific reasons for the disturbances last night.
‘I never expected… such a dangerous cult society hidden in such an ordinary small town… manipulating dreams, feeding on dream cocoons, breeding monsters, torturing spirits… no matter which aspect you look at, the harm caused by this society is no less than that of the Wolf bl**d Association…
If it weren’t for Akka’s protection and Miss Dorothyia’s assistance nearby, I would have fallen victim to those cultists during the previous night’s church incident… Although they never forced me to believe, Akka saved me again…’
Placing her hand on her chest, Vania thought. This was not the first time she had received divine grace. As a nun, being repeatedly protected directly by a deity made her often feel a strong sense of unreality while also increasing her reverence for Akka.
‘No! This time, it’s not just me; it’s countless innocent people in Navaha… Although Akka and His earthly servants have never preached any doctrines of benevolence, their actions are always acts of salvation. Sometimes it feels like they do better than the Church. This time, they even saved an entire city…’
Looking out the window at the city about to depart, watching the masses laboring on the dock, Vania felt deeply moved.
Initially, Vania was terrified of receiving divine revelation and protection from the Other God, fearing severe consequences if it were exposed. Now, she no longer felt this fear; instead, she felt increasingly fortunate to have contact with Akka and to save many people directly or indirectly under His guidance, something she could not have done as a mere scripture reader.
‘According to Miss Dorothyia, the disturbance last night was caused by a monster created by the dream society. That monster was ultimately defeated by Akka’s apostle in a dream.
‘Such a young Miss Dorothyia already has the ability to communicate with divine apostles? It seems her status among Akka’s servants is quite high. I really want to see what an apostle of Akka looks like…’
Vania thought wistfully. At this moment, her eyes, which were gazing out the porthole, suddenly caught an unusual sight.
Vania saw several figures walking away from the busy dock where the ships were preparing to set sail. One of the figures she recognized: it was Commander Jorde of the escort fleet.
