Chapter 581

581.

Eliza spent the night with Kal, gathering as much information as possible about the world of Lumeran she had entered.

Though it was deep into the night and she couldn’t leave the room, she managed to get more information than expected.

‘First of all, it was fortunate that Clary Jesian, possessed by Kal Thomas, was the Student Council President.’

Clary’s room was filled with documents necessary for the Student Council President.

Through these documents, she managed to understand the events currently unfolding in Lumeran to some extent.

‘Chief among them are the Dragon of the Cataclysm, Rodia, Comet Wizard Seirun, Great Warrior Azonia, and the Unyielding Demian…’

Giants regarded as the successors of the Great Hero were gathered in Lumeran.

“Considering how the Heroes of the Cataclysm have reconvened for such a big event, it should be something memorable. But as far as I recall, those Heroes have never gathered together in Lumeran.”

“Huh? Is that so?”

“You. Don’t you think it’s basic to know the history of the school you attend?”

“Your words surprise me. You, of all people, sounding like a top student?”

“Phfft. Basic, really. You’re sharp with useless trivia, yet ignorant of important things.”

“Well, that’s true.”

Kal shrugged.

“In any case, it’s a rare occurrence for the Heroes of the Cataclysm to gather after the Rebirth of Catastrophe was brought to an end.”

Eliza fell into deep thought.

“If such a crucial event took place in the Rumearn Academy but didn’t make it into history… that must be the core keyword in the conquest of the Hero’s World.”

“That’s exactly right.”

Eliza wore a satisfied smile.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, she said,

“First, we should figure out how many conquerors there are.”

It was essential when getting caught up in the Hero Dungeon.

“First off, all the second-year participants from Lumeran should be here in this world, right?”

Eliza recalled the events before entering the Hero’s World.

The area where Lumeran students waited was clearly the activation range.

“Not only us, but all the second-year students from other schools awaiting participation must have been swept up too.”

“How do you know that?”

“I checked just before.”

“Did you really have time to check during such a sudden situation?”

“Yep.”

“Hmm…”

Eliza slowly opened her eyes.

“You’re clearly good at spur-of-the-moment decisions.”

“Oh? Is that a compliment?”

“Did it sound like one?”

Kal chuckled.

“In any case, let’s get a little more sleep.”

Kal glanced at the clock.

There was still some time left before morning.

Eliza, nodding her head, asked,

“Where will you sleep?”

“Of course, the bed. This is the room of the person I possessed, after all.”

“Don’t joke around. The bed is my spot.”

“How about we share?”

“Are you suggesting something dirty? Do you want to d*e?”

As Eliza questioned him with a frosty tone, Kal grinned and lay down on the floor.

Eliza smirked at him from above and then lay down on the bed, pulling the blanket over herself. After turning her body away from Kal, she prepared to sleep.

Before she could, Kal asked,

“Anyway, Eliza, how’s your training been going lately?”

“You didn’t even bother asking until now?”

Eliza let out a smirk while facing away from him.

“Our training isn’t affected by your absence. It’s been progressing well. And I’ve grown somewhat accustomed to that accursed pain.”

“Didn’t you say you were already used to the pain long ago? I remember seeing you laugh like you were losing your mind sometimes.”

“That’s something I told you not to bring up again, didn’t I?”

Eliza turned her body to look at Kal and scowled at him.

At her expression, Kal chuckled,

“I’m sorry I couldn’t focus on helping you. I was getting exploited by Senior Elena. Despite wanting to help as much as possible, it was just impossible.”

Kal, lying down, propped his hands behind his head and crossed his legs.

As he gazed at the ceiling, Kal murmured,

“Anyway, I believe you’ll do fine even without me.”

“Why did you try to help when you knew I didn’t need it?”

Eliza said, sounding slightly irked.

“You should’ve taken care of yourself during the time you were worrying about me. If you had, you might have improved your skills enough to avoid expulsion.”

“Hmm. If I’m brutally honest, you’re wrong.”

“Well, yes.”

“Isn’t that agreeing too quickly?”

Kal chuckled.

“I just wanted to help.”

“Why?”

“Because you weren’t being yourself back then.”

“Huh?”

Eliza’s eyes widened slightly.

“The Eliza Hergin I know doesn’t question her own potential.”

Kal smiled faintly.

“You may seem arrogant and condescending, but in reality, you’re someone with strong responsibility, thoroughly taking care of those around you.”

Eliza was the leader of the second-year Department of Summoning.

And all the second-year students in the Department of Summoning followed her extremely well.

If she were simply arrogant and dismissive of others, it would have been impossible to gain such respect.

Ever since her enrollment, she had been leading the students around her to achieve the top in the Department of Summoning.

“Whenever you hit a wall, you find a way to overcome it. That’s the side that suits you most, and that’s why I wanted to help.”

Eliza stared at Kal with a vacant expression.

Moments later, she clenched her fist and said,

“Kal Thomas.”

“Uh-huh?”

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said those harsh words before.”

“Ah, that? Don’t worry about it. I don’t really care. It’s the truth, after all.”

“No, it’s not.”

Eliza tilted her head.

“There’s not a single person among us who doesn’t think you’re extraordinary. I’ve received a lot of help from you too. Although I said those things before… if it weren’t for your help, I wouldn’t have been able to endure my training.”

Eliza looked directly into Kal’s eyes.

Seeing her expression, Kal felt a little flustered.

“Hey, why are you saying all this suddenly?”

“So don’t give up.”

“Eh?”

“You’re still useful.”

“…”

Kal scratched his cheek.

Then he smirked.

“I haven’t given up. I’ll do my best to fight as much as I can. Whether it’ll help or not, though, remains to be seen.”

“Hmm?”

“If I do get expelled, don’t treat me like a stranger, okay? Connections are essential once you leave school.”

At his words, Eliza smirked.

“If you’re worried about that, let’s be friends?”

“Eh?”

Kal was stunned.

“I consider it an honor. As the heir of the Hergin family, I’m acknowledging you, a mere commoner, as an equal.”

Kal scratched his head and chuckled,

“Feeling so honored, I don’t know what to do with myself.”

“Yes, that’s enough.”

Eliza giggled.

Kal looked at her, feeling somewhat strange.

‘When we speak casually, it feels a bit awkward.’

“Now we’re like this, you better make sure to advance to the third year.”

“That’s easier said than done.”

Eliza glanced at him, then tilted her head back and folded her arms.

“You say you haven’t given up, but your lack of motivation is embarrassing.”

“Hmm, maybe if there was something else at stake, I might find my motivation.”

“Pathetic.”

Eliza clicked her tongue.

Seeing her reaction, Kal grinned.

“How about this – if you’re grateful for my help with your training, why not help me by fulfilling my one wish if I do make it to the third year? Maybe it’ll give me more motivation.”

At this, Eliza sat up.

Thinking he was about to get punished, Kal immediately cowered,

“Yikes!”

However, no anticipated whip came flying at him.

“Alright.”

“Eh?”

Kal lifted his head.

There stood Eliza, her legs crossed and elbow resting on her knee, her chin propped up, smiling at him.

“I’ll grant any one of your wishes. In exchange, show me a bit more enthusiasm.”

“Seriously?”

Kal, wide-eyed, grabbed Eliza’s hand and questioned,

“Hergin family heir? Will you truly obey any command I give?”

“You… what are you planning to make me do?”

Eliza opened her eyes slightly, but Kal quickly stood up,

“Alright! By any means necessary, I’ll reach the third year!”

Eliza, who was watching his reaction with an expression of confusion, looked down at the hand Kal had caught and giggled,

“Well, conquering this Hero’s World should be our priority before that.”

Kal, who had been burning with motivation, spoke seriously,

“Yeah, that’s right. Do you know the basic method of conquering an annexed world?”

“Of course.”

Kal smiled confidently,

“You should act like the person you’ve possessed. Hmm, Eliza. I understand you don’t have many clues, so you may not fully understand the person you’ve possessed, but I have already grasped everything.”

“Oho? How?”

Eliza’s expression lit up with interest.

“Like the dorm supervisor’s reaction earlier, or the fact that the person you’ve possessed, Megyn Shee, broke the rules to be here in the middle of the night. And most decisively,”

Kal opened the desk drawer and pulled out a small wooden box.

He’d found it while searching through the desk earlier.

Click.

Inside the box were numerous elegant hairpins for women.

“They all seem to belong to different women. Judging from this kind of collection,”

Kal clicked his tongue.

“This person is quite the womanizer.”

“Good deductive skills. Can you act like that person?”

“No problem.”

*

‘Sure, you’re doing well.’

Eliza smirked coldly.

‘So you’re just going to flirt with women? Such a fitting vocation.’

Clary Jesian is the second prince of the magical kingdom of Jesian, located in the central continent.

Combined with being the first Student Council President in the history of Lumeran Academy,

her robust background and overwhelming skills,

along with her personality, make her a traveling Casanova leaving scandals behind.

Kal did his best to act like Clary.

The more he did, the more Eliza’s eyes grew deadly.

‘There’s a chance I could d*e once we’re alone.’

Yet, despite just doing what needed to be done!

Kal felt like crying.

“Have you heard the rumors? Are you not completely out of control?!”

A faraway voice sounded, filled with disdain.

There approached an elf with their arms firmly crossed.

As the elf confidently strode toward them, the surrounding female students of Lumeran who were gathered near Kal started whispering,

“It’s the student council president from Seirun.”

“What? Is she here to provoke us before the exchange tournament?”

Kal glared at Seira Tinglel, the Student Council President of Seirun Academy.

‘Seira Tinglel. Comet Wizard. Younger sister of Seirun.’

And also the de facto ancestor of the Tinglel family, which has not produced children.

“Isn’t this kid going crazy? Your face looks so stupid!”

Seeing Seira, who was standing with her arms crossed, looking down disdainfully, the students started murmuring.

“Seems like the Student Council President of Seirun has changed slightly in character, doesn’t she?”

“I agree. Her way of speaking is a bit rough. I heard she’s an incredibly graceful person.”

‘Could it be…?’

As Kal stared at Seira, who felt somewhat familiar in atmosphere, with a look of disbelief, he heard,

“Isn’t that right, Ar?”

“Books about beastmen… are surprisingly more… fun…”

“Meowaaaahh! Don’t do that with that face!”

“Hiiiiik?!”

Seira charged at Azonia.

Seeing Seira’s beet-red face in a frenzy, Azonia looked frightened.

Realizing the situation, Eliza covered her face.

Kal muttered absent-mindedly,

‘Seira is Ar, and Azonia must be Eiran.’
