Chapter 59: Deal Reached

Chapter 59: Deal Reached

“Oops, oops, oops! The Ice Dragon King is definitely dead now!”

After feeling the impact of the explosion firsthand, Gaia couldn’t help but think the Ice Dragon King had to be a goner. With a body that just exploded, how could anyone survive that?

“Ice Dragon King? Are you okay?”

Even though Gaia believed the Ice Dragon King was toast, it was polite to check in, right? Just to see if he responded.

“Gaia! What kind of potion did you make me drink? I’ve never felt this good in my life! I feel like I’ve gone back to my prime!”

“Huh?”

Hearing the Ice Dragon King’s voice took Gaia by surprise. Wait, was that really him? That didn’t sound quite right!

“You’re… the Ice Dragon King?”

Once the smoke from the explosion cleared, Gaia stared at the dragon-human before him, disbelief written all over his face.

Why, you ask? Because this dragon looked nothing like the old Ice Dragon King; he appeared as vibrant as a young dragon on a caffeine buzz!

“Yeah, it’s me. Why are you looking like you’ve seen a ghost? Didn’t you give me this potion?”

The Ice Dragon King was just as confused about the situation. Wasn’t this potion from Gaia? Why did he look so baffled?

“Uhh, this potion is indeed what I gave you. But I’ve never seen its effect before! By the way, Ice Dragon King, do you feel unwell at all?”

Gaia eyed the Ice Dragon King’s physique. What could he say? The Ice Dragon King looked like he’d been rejuvenated—his dragon aura stronger than before. Could this potion actually grant eternal youth?

“Nope, I feel fantastic! All those injuries I had before have vanished! This potion is incredible; it’s like I’m in my prime again!”

The Ice Dragon King moved about, feeling no discomfort—quite the opposite; he felt more alive than ever!

“Well, it seems this potion is indeed something special.”

Gaia couldn’t help but marvel at the potion’s incredible effects. Thankfully, he had saved it for emergencies. Imagine if he had drunk it right after waking up—what a waste that would’ve been!

“Of course! This is a potion crafted by me, the little princess, after all. It’s only natural it works so well!”

Through the crystal communicator, Aierjisi heard the conversation between Gaia and the Ice Dragon King. Upon hearing them praise her potion, she couldn’t help but stand a little taller and puff out her chest in pride.

“Yes, I doubted the potion’s miraculous claims before. I’m truly sorry about that.”

Gaia apologized to the Little Princess for ever doubting her potion-making skills.

“Now that you’ve drunk it, there shouldn’t be any issues, right? If all is well, I’ll sign off now; I’m a bit busy here.”

Aierjisi was still at the Royal Palace, undergoing rehabilitation training with Yake and had a lot on her plate.

“Alright, thank you! Ice Dragon King, since you’re feeling better, let’s discuss serious matters, shall we?”

After ending the call, Gaia turned to the Ice Dragon King. His main reason for coming up the mountain was to enlist the Ice Dragon King’s help in rescuing Ailin.

“What’s there to talk about? I already know why you came up here. You want me to help rescue Ailin, right? It’s just a small matter; why bother coming all the way up here? I’m in!”

Just as expected, the Ice Dragon King agreed to Gaia’s request. The reason was simple: Ailin was his precious daughter. How could he just stand by while she was with those shady cultists?

No way; he had to take action.

“I thought so. But this trip wasn’t a total waste—after all, you got all those injuries healed, didn’t you?”

In the end, Gaia’s trek up the mountain wasn’t in vain; Ice Dragon King healing was worth the trip alone.

“By the way, don’t you control the monsters up in the mountains? Why aren’t they following your commands now?”

Gaia asked about the monsters in the mountain. The Ice Dragon King always had control over them, but now they seemed to be ignoring his authority. Gaia was worried. If those monsters went crazy and attacked their land, innocent people would suffer!

“You needn’t worry about that. Those two rascals must have pulled some tricks on them when they attacked, causing the monsters to stop obeying me. But with a bit of time, I can reconnect and make them listen again.”

“That’s a relief! Speaking of, where are the other members of the Ice Dragon Clan? Why aren’t they around?”

After receiving a positive response, Gaia inquired about the rest of the Ice Dragon Clan. It was odd that in such a vast Ice Dragon palace, it was just the Ice Dragon King here.

“Oh, they’re still up in the mountains, just taking time to recuperate. My subordinates got a good beating when they tried to stop those two invaders. For now, I’m the only one who’s recovered.”

The Ice Dragon King explained why the other clan members weren’t there.

“Ah, well, I thought this time I’d get the entire Ice Dragon Clan to help.”

Gaia initially hoped this rescue mission would mobilize the whole Ice Dragon Clan, but it turned out he only had the Ice Dragon King’s strength to rely on.

Still, this was much better than having no reinforcements at all. At least it was the Ice Dragon King; his power was unmatched by any other troop. Having his assistance was already the best outcome for now.

“So, Ice Dragon King, are you willing to come down the mountain with me now? I’m worried that once the battle plan starts, it will be too late to notify you.”

Gaia asked the Ice Dragon King to join him in preparing the battle strategy, but the Ice Dragon King declined.

“Don’t worry about that. This snowy mountain is part of my body. If you need me, just send someone to shout, ‘Ice Dragon King, I need your help,’ and I’ll know.”
