Chapter 600: Hiel – To Be Honest, I Kinda Regret It (Please Subscribe!)
“Mama Mia isn’t in the tavern, Miss Victorica. She left early this morning to take care of some business and probably won’t be back until lunchtime.”
Hiel kindly explained to Victorica.
“Isn’t it Mama Mia who owns the place? Then where is this delicious smell coming from?” Victorica tilted her head in surprise.
“It’s Mr. Izay. Right now, he’s in the kitchen making a meal, or rather, preparing breakfast for himself.” Hiel pointed towards the kitchen to indicate.
“Mr. Izay can cook!?”
“Sure can~ Ryu learned cooking from him. Back then, Ryu’s cooking was absolutely terrible.”
Faced with Victorica’s astonishment, Hiel smiled and affirmed while teasing Ryu. At this moment, the faint smile on the elf’s face showed signs of cracking.
“Who would have thought…” Victorica chuckled after hearing this, unsure whether she was marveling at either Izay or Ryu.
“Do you want to go check out the kitchen? I’m curious about what kind of delicacy Mr. Izay is making.” Hiel tempted with a gentle smile.
“Isn’t that a bit inappropriate? Mr. Izay is making breakfast for himself, right?” Although she said this, Victorica clearly seemed interested already.
One’s eyes cannot hide the true thoughts within.
“We’ll just take a quick peek; we shouldn’t disturb him.”
Hiel’s expression at this moment eerily resembled someone saying “I’ll just peek, I won’t enter.”
“Hmm…”
“Meow~! The cat can’t hold back anymore! Let me, Aniya, see what Izay is doing in the kitchen!!”
When Victorica was still hesitating, Aniya, who had heard Hiel’s temptation, suddenly burst into action and dashed towards the kitchen.
Behind her, Kuroi pretended to dissuade them, while Ryu genuinely wanted to stop both of them.
Lunowa also followed along to join the fun.
Seeing this, Hiel covered her mouth and laughed, then gracefully stood up and finally headed to the kitchen.
“Miss Hiel…is the type not to be crossed.” Victorica muttered sincerely.
Her witch instincts told her that if she were noticed by Hiel, things could get troublesome for her in various ways.
But talk is cheap, Victorica didn’t intend to stay out of it.
If possible, she’d love to mooch off Izay for breakfast too.
New cuisine has appeared; how could she possibly stand still!?
…
“What’s going on here? Why do I feel like you’re all here to devour me alive?”
In the kitchen, Izay held a ladle, looking at the gathered crowd at the door, speechless.
“Nothing! The cat just followed the scent to the kitchen!”
“Translation: This guy wants food.”
Aniya confidently puffed out her chest, but Kuroi beside her quickly betrayed her.
“Meow—! What does ‘the cat wants food’ mean!? Kuroi, if you don’t know how to speak, then don’t speak! The cat can pay!”
What’s wrong with paying for a breakfast?
Aniya pushed Kuroi aside while angrily pulling out her wallet.
However, Izay shook his head and said, “I don’t want your money.”
“Huh?”
“If Aniya could meow like when we first met, I’ll consider giving you a portion of the breakfast in the pot. How does that sound?”
“???!!!”
Instantly, the cat-eared girl stared at Izay with a look that said “You’ve got issues.”
This was an insult!
She, Aniya, a former Level 4 adventurer and registered staff of The Bountiful Mistress tavern, with Mama Mia as her backing,
Would she sacrifice her dignity for a mere meal!?
“Meow~! So fragrant—!”
A few minutes later, at the round table in the tavern, the brunette catgirl happily ate steaming egg omelet congee and pork buns. Her long tail extending from her hips wagged joyfully, revealing her mood.
“I might have overestimated the importance of pride for someone like Aniya… feels like a loss…”
Izay sat next to Ryu, propping his cheek with his hand, unable to suppress a sigh.
The elf found this somewhat amusing: “This is something you agreed to yourself, two meows for food.”
For Aniya, all she needed to give up was a little self-respect to feast on Izay’s breakfast.
There’s no way she’d lose in this deal.
Who would refuse such a good thing?
The cat-eared girl claimed she saw through it clearly!
“Mr. Izay made breakfast types I’ve never seen before… Is this also a specialty of Orario?” Victorica asked curiously, lured by the aroma, and scooped a spoonful of congee into her mouth.
“Mm~! Delicious!”
The soft and tasty porridge seemed to carry a natural sweetness, melting in the mouth and leaving a lingering taste, as the savory meat and smooth omelet swirled on the tongue, becoming more fragrant with each chew.
A faint fragrance bloomed in the mouth, originating from the plain rice porridge itself.
The refreshing sensation slid down the throat into the chest and abdomen, further stimulating appetite.
Under the influence of hunger, Victorica took another bite of the pork bun.
“This is also delicious!” Victorica lightly stroked her cheeks, closing her eyes to savor the dance of meat juices in her mouth.
These two foods seem to complement each other well when eaten together!
The witch felt like she had discovered treasure and happily enjoyed the delicacies.
“There are no such specialties in Orario… Only Izay can make this kind of food…” Ryu explained in response to Victorica’s words, with a hint of pride in her tone.
It was like wanting to show off the man of her household~
After all, they had just reached their happy ending, and were currently in the honeymoon phase.
By the way, Ryu’s serving of lean meat porridge came with red beans, which Izay specially added for her.
Similarly, Hiel also had red bean lean meat porridge, which she served herself.
Holding her hot porridge, Hiel didn’t eat immediately but curiously asked, “Mr. Izay, did you predict this scene from the start?”
“What do you mean?”
“That we would come to mooch off your food.” Hiel said and glanced at the kitchen.
Both pots of lean meat porridge were made, one with omelets and the other with red beans.
And there were “side dishes” like pork buns and dessert red bean cakes.
Such quantities were clearly more than one person could finish.
Moreover, after Aniya truly indulged, Izay didn’t reject the requests from everyone else who wanted to buy breakfast.
So this led Hiel to form this suspicion.
Izay shrugged, “You’re overestimating me. I can’t predict the future. Making so much was just something I did casually.”
He simply thought since it was rare for him to cook, he might as well make a bit more.
The leftovers could be packed and tossed into his personal space. Since there’s no concept of time inside it, he could take it out and enjoy it hot next time he wanted.
It was a simple thought.
“To have space magic is truly extravagant…” Hiel pouted, making an envious comment.
Space Magic, this was the first instance ever, and Loki Familia had managed to “capture” it first.
It was because she was kept in the dark before. If she had known earlier that Izay possessed such talent,
No matter what, she would have lured Izay away before Loki.
As for now…
She could only express her envy.
After all, she couldn’t possibly lure members of Loki Familia, especially Izay, who was Loki’s ace.
