Chapter 595: Multiple Scenes
That man, who could casually slaughter countless soldiers, seemed to regard all life with the disdain of a god of war, yet also possessed the malevolence of a wicked fiend.
The sinister and cold smile on his face made Liu Shuqin tremble and feel chills run down her spine. Even at a distance, she could sense the danger emanating from him.
What was most terrifying was that this man bore a striking resemblance to her Junior Martial Brother, Lin Nuo. However, unlike Lin Nuo’s youthful spirit, this man exuded a more stable demeanor.
For Liu Shuqin, this was difficult to accept.
After all, Lin Nuo had long left an indelible mark in her heart as the heroic youth championing justice, saving countless lives time and again.
But now, this man shared Lin Nuo’s face, yet acted like a villain, mercilessly killing everyone in sight.
Even if he wasn’t Lin Nuo, it was still hard for her to come to terms with.
Liu Shuqin shouted, “Who the hell are you?” But perhaps the distance was too great, and her voice never reached this man, leaving her without an answer.
She felt like an observer, watching the war unfold without the ability to intervene—just helplessly spectating.
As numerous soldiers fell, the immortal beings surrounded by celestial energy soon arrived, their eyes filled with hatred as they glared at the man clad in black armor.
Quickly, the immortals closed in on him, yet he showed no signs of retreat, a hint of contempt in his gaze.
For Liu Shuqin, witnessing such a spectacle of so many immortals surrounding one man was unprecedented. She’d never seen so many immortals team up against a fierce beast.
Among those immortals, some familiar faces emerged—those who had been to Tianling Mountain, and others with whom she had previously negotiated—all possessing extraordinary strength.
Before long, the immortals began to channel Spirit Techniques, an endless surge of celestial energy erupting forth, shaking the mountains and rivers.
The intent of a thousand swords coalesced, and even powerful beings would meet a horrific end against this overwhelming sword intent, marked for eternity with a seal, never to reincarnate!
Yet the man showed no fear or hesitation; he lifted the black long sword and slashed his arm, a crimson line of blood spilling forth.
The dark red blood flowed like a source of power, pooling on the ground and forming a strange crimson array, from which countless dragon souls surged forth, opening their massive jaws and devouring the oncoming sword intent!
The immortals’ attack did not yield the expected result. Surrounded by many, they together recited incantations, and a Spirit Barrier encircled him.
Thunder roared, and several bolts of lightning descended from the sky, crackling with a brilliance that locked onto the grounded man, as if he were some tantalizing prey.
However, the dragon souls from the array beneath him showed no signs of yielding—they merged into several larger dragon souls, roaring towards the heavens, consuming the descending lightning!
Boom!
The dragon souls that consumed the lightning began to explode, a deafening sound shaking the mountains and rivers, while thick smoke and dust enveloped the sky, reminiscent of storm clouds before a tempest.
Liu Shuqin was astonished, witnessing her first spectacular battle. Even as a mere observer, a shiver ran through her. Perhaps it resembled the awe of mortals witnessing a clash between celestial beings and demons for the first time.
Next came a chaotic frenzy of Spirit Techniques clashing—mountains trembled, sand blew high, and countless corpses turned to dust!
Another thunderous sound erupted, as if the sky was about to topple, smoke and dust swirling and obscuring Liu Shuqin’s vision.
It felt like the world was sinking, and she was facing the apocalypse.
The scene from the battlefield faded, and suddenly, everything shifted to a different battlefield.
Here, another large group of soldiers gathered, but the scene was far less tragic than the previous one.
Liu Shuqin could still see that man, but he no longer wore the black armor; even the long sword he wielded was not as long or sharp, and the Demon Qi surrounding him was significantly lighter.
In this state, he resembled Lin Nuo more closely—almost like Lin Nuo before fully undergoing demonization.
He appeared wounded and was fleeing, while leading the soldiers was a girl in heavy armor. Even from a distance as Liu Shuqin floated in the air, she could make out details, as if zooming in on the armored girl.
She bore a striking resemblance to Luo Xiaoxue, though more mature and composed.
This army seemed reminiscent of the Royal Guard, which Liu Shuqin recognized.
The soldiers shouted a mighty battle cry: “Eliminate the Demon Disciples from the world!”
This was the second scene Liu Shuqin witnessed, yet it was fleeting, as she soon turned to the third scene, everything around her shifting again, taking her to a deep valley.
There, she again spotted the man who looked like Lin Nuo. Now, he was draped in a tattered black cloak, still fleeing.
The Demon Qi around him wasn’t as dense as before, leading Liu Shuqin to suspect this might be a scene from before the first one.
Thanks to her godly sight, she could perceive the valley’s overall situation.
This wasn’t an ordinary valley—it was steep and treacherous, enshrouded in thick mist. Any ordinary person would surely lose their way within.
But Liu Shuqin could see through the mist, spotting numerous immortals patrolling the area as if tracking this man down.
Yet this man was clever, expertly dodging all the immortals’ searches, hiding without leaving a trace.
After evading several pursuers, he finally reached the last valley exit; if he got through, he could escape.
But he encountered one immortal.
And this immortal was someone she recognized well.
Not long ago, she had met Li Ruo’er, who was on the brink of beast transformation—now a grown-up version of herself.
To say she was breathtakingly beautiful in her ethereal gown radiating celestial energy would be an understatement. She had completely shed her childishness and appeared much more graceful and gentle.
She was an immortal, emanating otherworldly aura, a fact Liu Shuqin easily recognized.
Blocking the man’s path, he drew his Sharp Sword, seemingly ready to strike at Li Ruo’er.
However, unlike the other immortals, Li Ruo’er didn’t attack; instead, she moved her lips as if speaking, and after a brief moment, she stepped aside, allowing him to pass.
Thus, he walked away, escaping the pursuit of all the immortals.
Soon after, the immortals arrived and regrouped with Li Ruo’er, visibly scolding her. Yet Li Ruo’er bore no resentment, accepting the consequences of her actions.
Li Ruo’er was taken back with them, leaving Liu Shuqin unclear about what happened next.
The scene before her shifted to the final act, standing on the edge of a steep cliff.
