Chapter 60: You Think You Can Defeat Me? You’re Still Too Inexperienced!
“Are you ready, Yake?”
Aierjisi gripped her Light Whip tightly in her palm, asking Yake, who stood opposite her, if he was prepared. If he was ready, she would start the battle.
“Absolutely, bring it on!”
Yake stretched his shoulders and waved at the Little Princess a safe distance away, signaling her to come at him.
“Okay, since you said so, I won’t hold back. Here comes my attack!”
The Little Princess also swung her Light Whip mercilessly at Yake.
“I dodge!”
Yake quickly crouched down, avoiding the whip strike from the Little Princess. The next second, he enhanced his leg strength and charged at her.
“Not bad! You dodged that one. But how about this?”
Aierjisi conjured another Light Whip in her hand and began launching a rapid series of attacks at Yake with both whips.
“Whoa, this is getting tricky!”
Faced with Aierjisi’s onslaught, Yake felt some sweat form on his brow. No matter how fast he was, dodging two whips simultaneously was no small feat.
However, he thought to himself, it was just quite challenging, not impossible to handle.
“So, what will you do, Yake? If you can’t get through my attacks, it might be best to admit defeat now; I’ll go easy on you then.”
Seeing that Yake seemed cornered by her attacks, Aierjisi smiled proudly. It seemed that Yake still had a long way to go to catch up.
“Hmph! Who said I can’t get through? I’ll show you how!”
With a slight smile, Yake recalled the technique Aierjisi had taught him earlier. He infused his Magic Power into his sword and swung down at the whips.
Clang!
With Yake’s attack, both whips shattered into pieces.
“Huh? Not too shabby! You managed to break my whips. But I can easily regenerate these; breaking them is meaningless.”
In the next instant, Aierjisi conjured two identical Light Whips once again. For her, creating these whips was as simple as wishing for them.
“No, it has its meaning! Regenerating weapons takes time, doesn’t it? And now, I’ve made it to you!”
As he spoke, Yake closed the distance to Aierjisi. As long as he could get close to the Mage, the advantage in battle would be his! Mages couldn’t recite their incantations quickly enough to avoid being sliced in half!
Of course, Yake had neglected an important detail: the Mage in front of him wasn’t just any ordinary one. The Little Princess was far from a typical Mage.
“Oh? You chose to come right to me? That saves me some trouble!”
Aierjisi smiled lightly. That smile sent a chill down Yake’s spine, making him feel something was very wrong. He tried to retreat but found that his legs wouldn’t move.
“What’s happening? Why can’t I move my legs?!”
Yake stared in shock at his immobilized legs. What was causing this?
“Ahem, Yake. Let me give you another lesson. At your current level, dealing with a special-grade Mage like me? You’re still twenty thousand years too early!”
Aierjisi placed her hand on Yake’s shoulder and unleashed a 100,000-volt shock.
“Aaaaaahhh!!!”
In the next moment, Yake let out a blood-curdling scream, as if he were undergoing extreme torment.
Once the electric shock subsided, Yake lost consciousness, collapsing to the ground.
“Miss Aierjisi, is Yake going to be okay? He won’t be in any life-threatening danger, right?”
Yin had watched their fight unfold. Though she didn’t know what spell the Little Princess had cast to turn the tide so easily, Yake’s miserable cries suggested he had sustained serious injuries.
“Don’t worry, it’s not a fatal wound. After all, he’s my servant; I wouldn’t go that far. He just got a bit of a high-voltage welcome; he’s lost consciousness but will be fine after some rest. I’ll take him back to recuperate.”
Aierjisi lifted the unconscious Yake and carried him out of the training room, heading towards the Rest Room.
“Miss Aierjisi, her strength is truly unfathomable.”
Watching the Little Princess’s retreating figure, Yin felt a lingering fear about her abilities.
Yake had mastered all his swordsmanship and had become a skilled swordsman, but even so, when actually fighting Aierjisi, he was still outmatched. If she were to face him, what chance would she have?
“Forget it, now’s not the time for that. The anniversary is approaching fast, and I need to find that damned Thief as soon as possible.”
Yin shook her head. After all, she wasn’t a martial artist but just a subordinate of the City Lord, responsible for the city’s security.
Coincidentally, for some unknown reason, the number of Guards seemed to be dwindling. Some Guards disappeared mysteriously while patrolling. It seemed the enemy intended to weaken the City Lord’s forces before the battle officially began.
She had been trying to analyze the Guards’ reports and the patterns of their disappearance, hoping to pinpoint the Thief’s hideout, but had achieved nothing. If things continued like this, that person might really kill the City Lord on the anniversary day. This was one event she absolutely had to prevent.
“Ugh. I have to admit, human flesh really is delicious. Don’t you think so, buddy?”
In an abandoned building, A Jie hid with his three Magical Beasts. They had been relying on gaming tactics to capture and brutally kill some Guards patrolling the border, feeding them to the beasts.
These Magical Beasts didn’t care about human flesh; as long as it provided energy, they would devour it without hesitation. Among these Magical Beasts, the Bird had a particularly fond taste for human flesh.
“Hey, buddy. Stop gnawing on that bread and come try this human meat; it’s delicious, really! Just one bite, and you’ll love it!”
Seeing A Jie still munching on leftover bread, the Bird brought a piece of human meat to him for a taste.
“Get lost! If you want to eat, go ahead; I won’t eat human flesh!”
A Jie kicked the Bird’s offering away with a look of disgust. He’d rather starve to death than take a single bite of human flesh.
