Chapter 618 The Grand Curtain Opens, Heart of the Gods (10k)
In the underground city of Saint Maryann Academy, elite monsters or tier bosses with purely human appearances were not uncommon.
Those powerful humans who left significant marks in history were occasionally projected by the dungeon to engage in heated battles with the students.
The “Strategist” before them was one such example.
However, unlike other monsters that gradually confused themselves with their original forms after gaining memories, this one clearly knew itself as a new entity with the appearance and memories of its original form, rather than a true “resurrection.”
This rationality stemmed from those memories, and it was actually disadvantageous for them to state this fact clearly.
Because if it was a “resurrection,” then it would be the original form.
And if it wasn’t, it would still be a monster.
Just like Bearbao’s previous concerns, the other monster bosses preferred to be seen as resurrections of their original forms.
Even Aesalia Patrus initially introduced herself as the sea princess.
But the “Strategist” revealed this.
…
“Dolores Stark is the name of my original form. She was an astrologer at the Star Tower who predicted the downfall of the demons. Of course, I don’t mind if you call me Dolores.”
Dolores Stark said calmly, her tone carrying a hint of pride.
Though she did not consider herself Dolores Stark herself, she felt proud nonetheless.
Dolores Stark was a renowned hero in the history of the war between humans and demons.
She bravely predicted the fall of the demons when humans were at a great disadvantage and personally went to the front lines to boost morale.
Though she was assassinated by demon assassins, her death ignited the resistance spirit among humans and demihumans.
Her name is still inscribed on the Heroic Stele inside the Star Tower.
…
Upon hearing her name, the professors were moved.
Yet, only moved.
They also knew that the Dolores Stark before them was not a resurrection of the original.
The monster body replicated by the dungeon and the real human body had significant differences in essence and could not be conflated.
Dolores Stark was called the “Revealer” in history.
If her “resurrection” were announced, it would cause a huge stir in a short time, but people would likely react negatively once they realized it.
Because of the existence of the “monster” Dolores Stark.
For the dead, it could be considered profanity.
…
Thus, deciding how to handle these monsters was very difficult.
…
Professor Shylph took a deep breath and said, “Let’s discuss Stark’s matters later. If my guess is correct, none of the others present need to hide their identities. Why not reveal everything at once?”
The remaining monster bosses exchanged glances and then spoke one by one.
The original form of the “Ice Emperor Bird” was a harpy living in the frigid lands. It was not human but served as a guardian of a small human kingdom, protecting its people for over a century in harsh conditions.
The “Eight Treasure Spider Lady’s” origins were similar, but she protected forest elementals and was once revered as a totem by the forest elemental tribes.
As for the “Boar Man” and “Snake-haired Witch,” their original forms belonged to the beastmen race, both being heroes of positive propaganda within their respective tribes.
In other words, all six high-ranking members of “Abyss” were originally positive figures.
They did not need to hide their identities and did not fear being treated poorly due to their original forms.
This was the main reason they were sitting here.
Conversely, the four “captains” who chose to flee were originally negative figures!
The dungeon was so vast; even if the four “captains” intended to hide, the professors would find it extremely difficult to locate them.
Their choice was not wrong for themselves.
…
After the monsters introduced themselves, the professors briefly introduced their identities and names.
Thus, both sides gained mutual understanding, making future negotiations more favorable.
Aesalia Patrus, the “Golden Mermaid,” first explained the reasons and purpose behind establishing the “Abyss” organization.
It all began years ago.
Professors Kazel and the others ventured into the dungeon during holidays to search for the “Tear of the Golden Mermaid” and eventually arrived at the boss room on the 120th floor where they found Aesalia Patrus.
After a battle, Aesalia Patrus was captured.
She intentionally omitted the details that followed.
In any case, she survived and escaped the dungeon’s control, walking out of the tier boss room through sheer will.
At the time, she was in the rapid recovery phase of her memories, quickly aligning her personality with her original form—a girl’s temperament.
Crying and wandering, afraid of killing monsters, she tried to keep them as pets out of loneliness, and eventually stumbled upon the reception hall, finding the stairs leading upward.
Only then did she realize the world she was in.
Subconsciously, she started climbing up, thinking that she would eventually escape the dungeon and return to the surface.
But when she reached the 99th floor, she encountered the first self-awakened monster.
From that monster, she learned many unknown things and how to disguise herself.
Later, she met Dolores Stark, the “Strategist,” and had the idea of forming a faction.
Dolores Stark was also considering how to ensure safety upon returning to the surface, and Aesalia Patrus’s appearance provided a chance.
“In short, our initial goal in establishing ‘Abyss’ was to gain leverage for negotiations.”
Aesalia Patrus stated frankly.
“We never intended to oppose the academy. We learned that more monsters were awakening in the dungeon and gathered them.
Only by building a strong collective could we negotiate on equal terms, rather than being crushed like ants on a table.”
Professor Shylph smiled slightly upon hearing this and said nothing more.
Aesalia Patrus looked at her and continued, “Although we are not yet strong enough, we have the potential…
With sincerity, therefore…”
Professor Shylph slowly said, “State your demands.”
Aeslia Patrus pursed her lips and said, “Safety is the first priority.”
Professor Shylph nodded and said, “This is fundamental.”
Aeslia Patrus immediately felt relieved and tried, “Then freedom…”
“Hmm?” Professor Shylph frowned slightly.
Aeslia Patrus hurriedly said, “Of course, relative freedom.”
Only then did Professor Shylph say, “You need to come out of the dungeon and be under the academy’s management. In return, the academy will provide you with what you need on a regular basis. After review, you will also receive relative freedom. As long as you cooperate sufficiently, we will consider your opinions and offer you preferential treatment.”
Aeslia Patrus couldn’t help but look at the others.
Seeing that the higher-ups did not object, Aeslia nodded, “In principle, this can be accepted, but there needs to be further discussion on the details, and a contract should be drafted.”
…
The conversation between both sides quickly progressed.
The monster faction never intended to confront the academy from the beginning.
This was the key to ensuring smooth negotiations.
However, the “Abyss” organization had in fact split into two parts, with those who chose to surrender staying here, while the truly difficult-to-deal-with ones left.
Regarding the latter, Aeslia could provide a detailed list to facilitate the academy’s search and handling.
The entire conversation lasted three hours.
Professor Shylph finally promised to provide them accommodation in the thick forest and gradually open up facilities like Traveler’s Street based on the results of the review.
However, the monsters must wear restraints made by Professor Kazel and avoid close contact with students.
Additionally, there were still a large number of awakened self-aware monsters hidden within the dungeon.
Dolores Stark, the strategist of the “Abyss,” possessed special abilities to locate these monsters.
Professor Shylph planned to form a department under the academy’s jurisdiction to replace “Abyss,” taking in these monsters and providing corresponding job positions, making them responsible for locating these monsters.
Centering around this, they ultimately drafted a temporary contract which they signed on the spot.
The entire process was so smooth that it made one doubt whether the negotiating party was indeed a monster.
But this situation actually relied on the absolute strength of the academy professors.
Moreover, under Professor Kazel’s supervision, no one could lie.
“I hope our cooperation continues smoothly.”
Professor Shylph organized the contract and said lightly, “So, let’s move on to the next phase.”
…
Reaching an agreement with the “Abyss” organization was an unexpected gain.
Dark and his group did not initially intend to do this; they didn’t even know such an organization existed.
Finding the root cause of awakening self-awareness in monsters was their true goal.
After reaching an agreement with the “Abyss” organization, they finally obtained clues about the “root.”
These clues were actually right beneath their feet.
The “Abyss” organization’s base appeared to be in a concealed room, but in reality, it wasn’t.
What was under their feet was not a concealed room, but a Hidden Space!
Though just a single character different, “Hidden Space” and “concealed room” represented entirely different meanings.
Professor Shylph was quite surprised upon hearing this.
After putting away the contract, they followed Aeslia and the other monsters out of the meeting room and continued deeper.
Aeslia led the way, “Just as you seek the reason for the awakening of familiars, we too seek the reason for our own awakening.
We call it the ‘root.’ We chose to build our base here because it is the closest place we could find to the ‘root.’
The mechanism of the Hidden Space allowed us to cross layers of the dungeon, bringing us closer to the ‘root,’ yet we still cannot reach it.”
“How far?” Professor Shylph interrupted.
Aeslia said, “It’s just ahead.”
…
Indeed, it was just ahead.
As soon as Dark heard this, he stepped forward, and his vision suddenly changed, transitioning from the modern tunnel to a cold, dark cave.
He felt a jolt and noticed that Lily had grabbed his hand.
The professors almost simultaneously stopped, their expressions solemn.
A chilling aura emanated from the end of the cave.
Aeslia turned back and whispered, “Follow me!”
Continuing forward.
In just three minutes, the so-called “root” appeared before everyone.
— It was a gigantic heart hanging on the cave wall!
…
“Thump! Thump! Thump!”
Dark suddenly clutched his heart as the sound of the huge heart pounding echoed throughout the cave, causing both humans and monsters to synchronize their heartbeat.
Blood seemed to boil as it rapidly flowed, and a flush of crimson appeared on their skin.
“Clap!”
Aeslia suddenly clapped her hands, and the enormous pearl above her head began to rotate, releasing a water curtain that blocked everyone’s view.
The water curtain began to pulsate rhythmically, reducing the impact of the heartbeats.
Everyone’s expressions quickly returned to normal.
Professor Shylph couldn’t help but step forward, astonished and suspicious, “Is this what you call the ‘root’?”
Aeslia nodded, “But it does not truly exist here; it’s merely a mirage-like projection. Fortunately, otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to approach it.
If we get close, we can’t help but kneel before it. It feels as if everything in us is bestowed by it, and we can’t resist offering ourselves to it.”
While saying this, Aeslia’s legs were trembling, clearly struggling to control herself.
The other monsters were no exception; if they continued forward, they might fall to their knees before the giant heart, offering their lives.
Even if it was only a projection, they couldn’t help themselves.
The Hidden Space crossed layers, allowing them to see the projection of the “root” and realize their own insignificance.
“Which layer is this giant heart’s projection on?”
“Where is the projection’s physical body?”
Dark stared intently at the heart, quickly realizing that the idea of finding something related to “God” to complete the concept of “Capital Sin IV” had faded.
The divine intent contained in the statue of the Moon Goddess in the secret passage was extremely thin, leading him to have a less cautious thought.
The “God” hidden within the dungeon was obviously more complete.
With his current strength,
, it’s completely out of reach.
[Pride -1]
A system prompt suddenly appeared before him.
Dark’s heart stirred, and he couldn’t help but smile.
“What are you smiling about?” Lily asked, leaning close to his ear.
Dark blinked and casually replied, “Look at the physical body of that heart projection. Which floor’s boss should it be?”
“Floor boss?” Lily was taken aback, suspiciously asking, “Why do you think this heart’s physical body would be a floor boss… Wait… Eh?!”
Lily suddenly widened her eyes, hugged Dark tightly, and exclaimed, “That’s right! It’s a floor boss!”
Since all the floor bosses in St. Maryan Dungeon were projections of important historical figures, why couldn’t it be a god?
In the complete history of this world, could there be anyone more important than the gods who left their marks in the past?
They hadn’t thought of this before because they felt gods were too high above, and also because they had never seen one…
But wasn’t the reason they had never seen one because gods were too high above, leading the floor bosses simulating them to be located deep within the dungeon?
At least below two hundred floors, right?
Lily suddenly had an epiphany, thinking she was too clever, and couldn’t help but show off with a smug smile.
Then, that smile was knocked askew by Dark’s palm.
“What are you talking about? What floor boss?” Claire turned around, squinting her eyes as she asked seriously.
Dark and Lily quickly became the focus of attention.
Before Dark could speak, Lily excitedly turned around and said, “I discovered a secret!”
…
“So that’s what you meant by your secret.”
Claire said with some regret, “I only broke through to the fifties, so I don’t have the qualifications to participate in this discussion. But the deeper the floor, the stronger the floor boss becomes, until it reaches its limit and naturally becomes a god.
Since we haven’t yet been able to probe its bottom, assuming there is a nearly god-like floor boss below is indeed not unreasonable.”
Professor Jones crossed his arms and said, “From what you’re saying, you both think it’s a god’s heart?”
“It can only be a god.” Professor Shylph looked up, gazing at the dark iron chain hanging the heart, lost in thought.
Professor Kazel then spoke up, “Your hypothesis is interesting, but how can a heart serve as a floor boss? Unless… it’s still in the process of being made…”
As Professor Kazel spoke, he suddenly froze, then continued, “The dungeon, generating its own god?”
…
The professors discussed among themselves, leaving no room for the monsters to interject.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Professor Shylph shook her head and said, “If we follow a normal line of thinking, why can’t someone in the past have sealed a god’s heart in our dungeon, and due to the accidental activation of the hidden space, its aura leaked out?”
“I agree with the latter part,” Professor Kazel said.
The dungeon had never experienced such changes over the years, and now it suddenly appeared, indicating something decisive must have happened.
Without external force, it could only be attributed to coincidence.
As for how that massive heart ended up in the dungeon…
It would likely require a lot of time to study and discover.
Professor Kazel subconsciously straightened himself, his wrinkled face filled with excitement.
Clearly, this massive heart had ignited his great research enthusiasm!
But from the academy’s perspective, the existence of such unstable factors was not a good thing, thus Professor Shylph’s expression grew increasingly serious.
As for the other professors…
Claire was no longer a professor.
Professor Jones clearly didn’t show much interest in just a single heart.
Professor Lily was brimming with curiosity.
Professor Nina remained confused.
…
By this time, the monsters had retreated to a corner, forming a small circle.
Aisharya and Delores whispered softly.
The other four monsters echoed in agreement.
They were surprised by the professors’ words, unable to understand why the professors were so certain that the massive heart was a god’s heart, and even more puzzled by their calmness after making this judgment.
Their original forms were heroic figures, but the changing times had clearly created a generational gap between their thinking and that of the current people.
Out of reverence for the gods, they couldn’t imagine the professors’ actions.
Thus, they became even more secretive towards the professors.
…
The beating sound of the massive heart exerted considerable pressure on the monsters; they did not stay inside for long.
And after they withdrew, the professors did not linger either.
To study that massive heart, the first step was to find the floor level where the projection existed, then trace back from the projection to find the heart’s physical body.
But these tasks would be difficult to accomplish in the short term.
Even Professor Kazel did not rashly choose to start the research at this moment.
After all, it involved research related to gods, requiring more careful preparation.
Moreover, due to the mechanism of the hidden space.
If he accidentally destroyed the heart’s projection, it could easily cause the collapse of this space, making it much harder to trace back later.
On the other hand, today’s harvest had already far exceeded their expectations.
They needed to return to the academy as soon as possible and inform Principal Altair of today’s events!
“We need at least one ‘Gate Key’ or ‘Gate Crystal’ to reach the ninety-ninth floor,” Professor Shylph quickly said once they returned to the meeting room.
Returning from the ninety-ninth floor to the first floor only required a “Gate Key (1)” or “Gate Crystal (1).”
They possessed both items.
But to return to the ninety-ninth floor again, a “Gate Key (99)” or “Gate Crystal (99)” would be necessary.
“I have a ‘Gate Key’ for the ninety-ninth floor,” Aisharya offered sincerely.
After receiving the “Gate Key (99),” Professor Shylph slightly softened her tone and asked, “Are all your members present?”
Aisharya shook her head and said, “We started gathering members yesterday, but some are still outside. They are mostly on other floors and cannot be recalled in the short term.
However, I will leave Bross Walker here to continue organizing members. We should be able to gather willing members each week. As for those unwilling…”
Professor Shylph said indifferently, “I will make them willing.” Aisharya forced a laugh.
, no more words.
It was satisfied enough with the agreement signed with the academy and was now eagerly looking forward to leaving this damned dungeon.
As for those unfortunate members of their original forms, it could only wish them luck.
Next, it had the strategist hand over the organized list of members to Professor Shylph, then gathered all the members in an open area for the professors to inspect.
Not counting those who chose to leave or had yet to return, there were nearly fifty members left in the base, accounting for half of the “Abyss” organization.
These monsters’ original forms were not all good characters, but they were basically harmless.
With Professor Kazel present, they couldn’t lie at all.
Once any monster with malicious intent was discovered, he would immediately expose them.
The entire inspection process lasted until midnight.
Eudora notified the members of the agreement’s contents, and most of the monsters cooperated very well.
When the inspection ended, all the monsters had packed their bags, ready to return to the surface.
This was something they had longed for but never achieved before.
The inclusiveness and kindness of Saint Maryann Academy made them grateful.
Of course, this was all under the condition that they really didn’t have much of a choice…
The pressure from the academy professors was too strong.
…
At two o’clock in the morning.
The professors brought nearly fifty monsters to the reception hall on the ninety-ninth floor.
Then, two professors each activated the gate crystals leading to the first floor.
There would hardly be any students in the reception hall on the first floor at two o’clock in the morning.
The monsters passed through the teleportation gates and reassembled in the reception hall on the first floor.
Professor Shylph gave one last reminder about the rules after leaving the dungeon—especially not to scream—and led the monsters through the magic gate, back to the surface.
It was pitch-black night, stars like fireflies, and a full moon illuminated the sky.
Some monsters couldn’t control their howls when they looked up, but the entire square was instantly covered by a “silencing spell.”
Professor Shylph sternly glared at the monster, making it whimper like a puppy.
But aside from this small flaw, the monsters indeed迎来了新生.
If Saint Maryann Academy was truly as fair and kind as the legends say.
…
Dark Demon, having put his backpack back on, passed through the water-like magic gate and stepped onto the ground.
He touched the “fairy substitute” placed close to him, feeling relieved that these preparations hadn’t been used, while also sighing at the experiences of the past two days.
Although he hadn’t played much of a role other than tying up Lily, his experience traveling with the professors would still significantly impact his future life.
His perspective became broader, his path ahead clearer.
He also gained a lot of knowledge related to dungeon adventures.
He clearly knew that a god’s heart was hidden within the dungeon!
The sound of that massive heart beating still echoed in his ears, reinforcing his belief in Eudora’s prophecy interpretation.
No matter if the god’s heart was sealed inside the dungeon or generated by the dungeon itself, it was a sign of the “gods’ awakening.”
The curtain was about to rise.
And far beyond what a “Demon King” could compare to.
In the original game, these events might have been merely background or preparation for the sequel.
Dark did not know the details and could only speculate.
But he was very clear that reality was not a game; he couldn’t hide in the academy forever like a game character.
Even if the sky fell, someone tall could hold it up.
But what if one day the tall person couldn’t hold it anymore?
Dark wouldn’t really stand back and let those “tall people” take the brunt while he hid behind them.
He couldn’t do that.
…
When the monsters finally calmed down, the professors led them away from the square at the dungeon entrance, preparing to head toward the vast thick forest.
Dark did not follow.
After picking up Bear Baby, he planned to return to the dormitory.
If he couldn’t get into the dormitory, he would stay at the Magical Animal Club in the bell tower for a night.
It was just two o’clock in the morning on Sunday, and there was still plenty of time this weekend.
“Do you want to go back to the dorm?” Lily saw through his thoughts.
He thought for a moment and said, “Can you help me?”
Lily hugged his other arm, unable to hide her smile: “Of course.”
Then she waved at the other professors and took off flying.
Without disturbing anyone, Lily led Dark through the walls and into room 301.
“Sit for a bit.”
The familiar environment quickly relaxed Dark. He summoned “Huhu,” placed the fruit in its shell, washed out a cup, and prepared to freshly squeeze two glasses of juice.
Lily naturally wouldn’t refuse. She sat unhesitantly on Dark’s bed, crossing her legs and asked, “Do you have anything you want to ask?”
Dark originally had nothing to ask, but since Lily mentioned it, how could he not give her face?
So Dark curiously asked, “Os Brook, I mean that ‘Shadow Magic Rat,’ what will the professors do with it?”
Lily blinked and, in front of him, raised her hand and made a gesture of pulling something out at her temple.
Dark suddenly understood: “Extract memories?”
Lily said in a light tone, “If it were Kazel, he would likely do that. Although these monsters aren’t the same individual as the memory body, they do possess the original memories.
If those memories weren’t pleasant, removing them would be the best method. Of course, this would be very troublesome.”
In other words, if it wasn’t Kazel, perhaps a simpler and more convenient method would be used.
After understanding, Dark didn’t ask further.
Losing memories.
Or losing life.
If he had to choose between the two, he would find it difficult to decide.
But from the academy’s standpoint, the professors couldn’t allow a monster carrying the memories of a “Plague Lord” to live normally.
Washing away its memories was already their greatest mercy.
…
After Dark handed Lily an apple juice, he asked again, “Actually, I’m really curious. What exactly did you and Professor Kazel do to that golden mermaid?”
Darak recalled Professor Kazel’s awkward appearance and couldn’t help but ask further, “So what kind of personality did Professor Kazel give it?”
Professor Lily wiggled her little feet and said, “Look at that Golden Mermaid. Doesn’t she look like a little crybaby?”
Darak rubbed his nose and replied, “Indeed.”
“That’s it,” Lily said. “Its appearance clearly shows it to be a crying little ghost, so Professor Kazel gave it a personality as a crybaby, making it believe that Professor Kazel was a kind old father. Afterward, he made it witness the death of its father in its mind.”
Such materials as tears and the like usually derive their special powers from mental strength.
Therefore, guiding emotions is very important.
The dungeon monsters’ boss had all the bodily structures of a living creature but lacked autonomous consciousness.
Professor Kazel transplanted a virtual personality into the brain of the “Golden Mermaid” through research, but he didn’t expect that the “Golden Mermaid” had already started developing its own self-awareness.
Looking back now, perhaps the current personality of Eshalia Patrus was still influenced by that virtual personality, and it retained memories of that experience.
But those memories brought it deeper fears.
It was extremely restrained not to call Professor Kazel “Dad” on the spot.
After learning the truth, Darak involuntarily opened his mouth and said, “No wonder Professor Kazel has always been unwilling to face it…”
…
“Alright, I should be going too.” Lily finished the last sip of apple juice, licked her lips with lingering satisfaction.
Darak took the cup from her hand and said, “Go quickly, good night.”
Lily laughed and flew up, “Good night, see you tomorrow.”
Darak waved, “See you tomorrow.”
Professor Lily flew silently through the walls, out of the tower of the Noble Academy.
With her nature, she was surely heading for the thick forest at this moment.
Darak walked to the balcony to watch her leave, then returned inside to summon “Paradise” and have the “Mana Book” summon the golems one by one.
He casually picked up a book and sank into the bathtub.
…
In the dense forest within Saint Maryann Academy, there were already numerous powerful species inhabiting it.
The settlement of merely fifty monster bosses was far from enough to alter the ecosystem of the forest.
However, finding suitable land for them to reside and building complete facilities was not something that could be achieved overnight.
Over time, these monsters would eventually be assimilated into Saint Maryann Academy.
If everything went smoothly, they might even create a special place different from “Traveler’s Street.”
Darak estimated in his heart, planning to wait until the monster bosses settled down before finding an opportunity to take a look.
To him, those monster bosses were still very attractive.
…
A night passed.
After waking up, Darak took out his notebook and slowly recalled and recorded the experiences of the past two days, savoring and pondering them gradually. He gradually clarified his thoughts and extracted himself from matters beyond his capabilities, temporarily returning to a normal learning trajectory.
Then, he took out the “Three Thousand Items Eight Thousand Conjure Methods” and began searching for the conjure method related to the “Bronze Mirror.”
The items scheduled for the creation of道具卡 were almost depleted.
Apart from the “Jester Mask,” the only other item left was the “Bronze Mirror.”
Other items like “Gravity Boots,” although lacking practical value in mana duels, could also be attempted for conjuring—used as daily exercise.
However, the priority for the “Bronze Mirror” was clearly higher.
The “Three Thousand Items Eight Thousand Conjure Methods” did not contain any similar items to the “Bronze Mirror.”
But Darak used his divergent thinking and found the refining methods for the “Cursed Mask” and the “Wisdom Mirror.”
The “Cursed Mask” was a mask with a curse effect, which made the wearer lose their rationality and gradually turn to stone in a rage.
The “Wisdom Mirror” was a mirror skilled at lying, adept at deceiving the holder and showing them a beautified version of themselves, giving them praise that matched their intentions, leading them to indulge in false perfection and ultimately self-destruction.
After careful consideration, Darak decided to try combining the refining methods of these two items and apply them to the “Bronze Mirror.”
Failure was not feared.
Success would be a significant gain.
Everything was for progress.
…
But the process of integrating the two methods turned out to be much more difficult than he imagined.
From morning till afternoon, apart from occasionally losing focus, he studied diligently, but the progress was slow.
As evening approached, to prevent running out of materials after starting the experiment, Darak had no choice but to head to Traveler’s Street to purchase some potential materials.
His recent expenses were increasing, and his credit points were visibly depleting, finally instilling a sense of crisis.
Returning and sitting down again, he picked up the documents and suddenly felt enlightened, flashes of inspiration appearing constantly, and the entire progress advanced significantly.
When Aurora knocked on the door and entered, he almost saw the finish line.
“Still researching the conjure method for the item card?” Aurora placed the nourishing soup on the table and asked curiously.
Darak put down his pen and sighed, “Leaving things unexplored feels like something is missing. Always want to make full use of them.”
Aurora smiled, “Then eat something first and continue your research. When did you return?”
“At two in the morning,” Darak replied.
Aurora couldn’t help but ask curiously, “That’s past curfew, how did you get in?”
Darak laughed, “Curfew doesn’t apply to professors.”
“Oh,” Aurora thought for a moment and said, “I guess it’s Professor Lily, right?”
“You got it right away,” Darak picked up the bowl, scooped some soup, and took a sip, feeling comfortable all over.
Seeing his relaxed appearance, Aurora felt relieved too.
She said, “This time, you went into the dungeon with the professors, didn’t you?”
Darak raised his head slightly and asked curiously, “How did you know? I don’t think I mentioned it.”
Aurora covered her mouth and chuckled, “Someone saw you. Do you know how much attention you’re getting?”
Darak recalled and indeed encountered a group of three people, unable to suppress a helpless smile.
“Do you know the ‘Wisdom Mirror’? You’re like my ‘Wisdom Mirror.'”

[22/127]
[My family suddenly brought over a matchmaking number, but the name on the number was wrong, causing quite a bit of trouble and wasting a lot of time.]
[But I still managed to write ten thousand words, keep pushing forward!]
