Chapter 65: Isn’t this just like cricket fighting?
The male fire dragon was flying carefree above the primeval forest, becoming the dragon that many creatures on the ground could only look up to.
Jie lowered his head inch by inch scanning the ground, searching for the four little fire dragons while also looking for prey worthy of his attack.
Compared to the distinct large monsters, there were numerous types of small monsters, many of which he couldn’t name or had never seen before—definitely not enough to satisfy even his smallest hunger.
But he did see some specialties other than prey, yet they didn’t stir him enough to transform into a Tengu beast and pick them.
What was that green little figure? It was hiding beside a cotton spore grass plant, devouring the flying fruits growing nearby.
After sensing the shadow cast from the sky, the tiny creature flicked its body, causing the cotton spore grass to burst open, releasing thick natural smoke that concealed it.
But in that fleeting moment, Jie identified what it was—a young poison demon bird surviving alone in nature, already mastering quite an advanced level of hiding skills.
His claws twitched, but Jie still decided not to capture it.
An adult poison demon bird only needed a few minutes to feed, but it took months or even a year to grow and develop…
All animals are like this, filling and patching nature with their own existence, born from nature, returning to nature.
Round and round, both claws empty.
He hadn’t seen any herbivorous dragon herds, and the fairy deer mostly hid under the shade of trees, mutually acting as sentries, making it somewhat difficult to catch one.
But it wasn’t too difficult either.
A fireball exploded on the escape route of the fairy deer, and the cute little deer was swallowed by flames, adorable to death.
Jie sniffed the aroma of the meat, pondered for a moment, and thought that taking back a lump of charred meat would raise doubts about his hunting ability, so he tore it apart himself.
The carbonized fur and tender raw meat separated on his tongue, while the thin layer of cooked meat in between emitted the most stimulating scent for the taste buds.
A bit of flame surged up from his throat as Jie tried to use his mouth as an oven to cook something edible.
Then he got a mouth ulcer; every breath of the fire dragon would burn himself, but his mouth had developed rapid recovery abilities.
Slightly opening his mouth, the aroma of the meat flowed into his nostrils.
Looking around, Jie walked towards the honey not far ahead. He bit off half of it, chewing the honey along with the bees and the meat together.
Full of protein, delicious.
Unfortunately, the fairy deer’s body was relatively small, providing enough energy replenishment but not enough to satisfy the gluttony of such a massive creature.
Jie flapped his wings again and continued flying, searching for his four little ones and suitable prey.
A brownish-yellow creature in the lush forest caught Jie’s attention.
It looked like a long-haired, fanged pig? Just a wild boar then?
Circling in the air, the fire dragon maneuvered around to the blind spot of the wild boar’s vision, ignoring the trees shooting upwards as he initiated a dive.
The fragile wooden branches couldn’t scratch the fire dragon’s shell nor pierce through its wing membrane; instead, they shattered into pieces under the powerful force.
When rising into the sky again, Jie had a struggling wild boar hooked between his claws.
Hunting, feels good!
His claws carefully enclosed the wild boar, trying to keep it alive for training the young dragons.
When the team of young dragons spotted him and called out, the wild boar was still alive, though severely injured, making it even more enraged.
Placed on the ground, the wild boar charged towards the young dragons with eyes full of savage ferocity.
Iron Pot, who assumed it was food and had no guard up, was directly thrown away, followed by Wooden Ladle…
Watching the wild boar wildly charging and trampling among the young dragons, the male fire dragon’s cheeks twitched, barely revealing a satisfied smile.
A dragon life without being rammed by a boar is not exciting enough!
No human soul can resist cricket fighting!
The young dragons finally realized that Jie didn’t bring food, but prey for their training, and began to get into the state.
At this stage, their claws and teeth were sharp, and their shells were fully hardened, but unfortunately, they might not be as skilled as the two-legged chicken in using them.
At least, all the walking chicken needed was to nod and peck with its beak, but they had to consider the angle of their bite.
Pounce and bite, only to be knocked down by the hyperactive wild boar.
Claw strike, without the ability to fly, swinging the claws too widely would only make them lose balance.
Breath weapon? They haven’t learned that yet.
As long as the wild boar’s battle endurance hasn’t ended, and it keeps charging and wriggling, the young dragons really have no way to deal with it. The sturdy shell at least ensured they wouldn’t sustain serious injuries.
Is this really the end?
No, this is just the beginning.
They already possessed strength surpassing the wild boar; they just didn’t know how to use it yet.
Iron Pot, the strongest one, was being pushed back by the wild boar, but in the continuous roar, the wild boar’s charge was weakening.
Until a young dragon bit onto its head, stopping it.
Porcelain Bowl, who didn’t participate in the encirclement, jumped while running on a high ground nearby, spreading its wings to assist in a flying pounce, directly knocking the wild boar down.
Wooden Ladle and Basin, who were circling around, found an opportunity to join the normal, living sharing of food.
The wild boar could only make mistakes once.
Jie watched them eat and felt a bit hungry himself, but not to the point of wanting to snatch food from children.
He walked to an open area, intending to try the Hōng Lóng form.
Similar to transforming into a Swift Dragon, the wings flattened on the ground during the skeletal transformation, the bones of the flying dragon’s wings extending and reshaping into ancient wing claws, leaving only a short piece of the wing membrane.
The fire dragon’s shell turning deep red seemed to regress on the color spectrum, finally stopping at the yellow belonging to the Hōng Lóng.
Blue stripes spread across his body, resembling the black patterns on a tiger’s yellow fur.
The low chest trembled, inflating with Jie’s fierce inhalation, stimulating the organ known as the “resonance sac” to produce explosions inside.
After the explosion, the chest contracted again with the thunderous roar.
Small animals in the trees and grass fell one by one.
The young dragons were already very familiar with Jie’s transformations and no longer harbored fear.
But that thunderous roar was like an explosion right next to their ears, violently passing through the air, tearing the eardrums and the connected nerves, creating a series of indecipherable signals in the brain, breaking any orderly thinking.
By the time they interpreted it, they had already instinctively fallen to the ground.
“Hmm, earplugs are output skills, isn’t roaring the same?”
Jie satisfactorily smacked his lips, only feeling hungry again.
Trying to suppress this hunger would lead to restlessness, forcing Jie to revert to his fire dragon form.
The ferocity of the Hōng Lóng and the Savage Jaw Dragon were somewhat similar, both caused by a voracious appetite and rapid metabolism.
This type of monster isn’t suitable for daily use, only for transformation when battles are needed.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
