Chapter 678: Act 39 – All-Class Domination II
Brendel had not yet had time to stop it when Queen Saint Ausoor had already left the ring in his hand, as if a phantom by his side had materialized. The elegant elven senior sister landed, her eyes fixated on the young man with black hair and blood-red eyes walking out from the light portal, speaking his name with undeniable certainty:
“Tumen!”
Tumen suddenly halted, “Saint Ausoor?” The young man draped in silver robes had a flicker of light in his blood-colored eyes: “Heroic Spirit? Inheritance of the Moon? You’ve chosen this kid as well; it seems my judgment was not flawed.”
Saint Ausoor furrowed her long brows slightly, staring at the figure before her, “Tumen, you aren’t dead?”
Tumen smiled slightly and shrugged, “My student, a thousand years have passed, and after a thousand years we meet again; is this tedious question your priority?”
Brendel watched this scene from the side—historically, Tumen was known as a follower of the Dark Dragon, and his relationship with the Four Sages was evident. However, according to historical records, Saint Ausoor could indeed be considered one of his students.
Before the War of the Saints, Tumen had taught the secrets of magic to all sentient beings, leaving behind valuable knowledge such as the Holy Script. In truth, among the Four Sages, Gilt, Saint Ausoor, and Fanzan all had a student-teacher relationship with him.
But Saint Ausoor might not recognize him as a teacher; she coldly gazed at him, “To me, this is not boring at all, Tumen. We worked tirelessly a thousand years ago to achieve everything, and I do not wish to start over.”
Tumen chuckled nonchalantly: “My student, during this millennium, Gilt established the Crusian Empire on the Great Plains. How is his Temple of Fire today? How are today’s Crusians any different from the Minren of old?”
“You established the Wind Temple, but your followers turned around and betrayed you. Where are the once-glorious Mist Elves today?”
“Of all of you, Fanzan is the one I admire most. But how many still adhere to his teachings now? The glory of the White City is long gone, and your descendants are now killing each other over shallow interests. Compared to that dark era, today’s world is not much different.”
The elven senior sister’s expression darkened slightly: “Everyone has their dark side. Gilt and I built these kingdoms not for them to last forever. What you can foresee, we have long foreseen.”
“But you also realized that there must be a centralized state on this land to resolve certain troubles. You divided it into four, which, in hindsight, does not seem like a rational choice.”
Faced with the rebuttal from the Wind Queen, Tumen’s expression showed no anger; he merely replied softly.
“Not trying will lead to no results, Tumen.”
Tumen raised an eyebrow and countered, “So, what answers have you received? Your soul still lingers on a ring, wandering in misery; why is that? History has already moved on, why are you still standing still?”
Saint Ausoor was momentarily speechless, falling into slight silence.
“Is he the one you chose, Saint Ausoor?” But Tumen seemed not to push further, turning to look at Brendel and asking.
“Isn’t he also someone you picked?” the Wind Queen replied irritably. Her sulky demeanor piqued Brendel’s curiosity; he had only seen this Sage Lord’s graceful and strong side, never seen her like a child.
“Not only that,” but Saint Ausoor quickly regained herself, huffing coldly: “That old supervisor of yours, the Dark Dragon Odin—along with Chunximan, both have set their eyes on him. This kid is not simple, and it seems Gilt’s Flame Staff has recognized him as its master.”
“Before the great era dawns, heroes will arise; this is not surprising. It takes an era to see the future,” Tumen replied.
“You think too highly of him,” the elven senior sister’s expression softened slightly: “I don’t have as many complex thoughts as you; I just want to find a successor.”
Tumen glanced at her, smiling silently. He had no intention of exposing her; rather, he looked at the thin, newly born world of rules behind Brendel—
Around Brendel, cards of destiny belonging to him floated in the air, forming a circle. Ever since the ‘Knight’ class was established, the world behind him had stabilized again, and those destiny cards that had previously scattered and flown had no longer shown any signs of going out of control.
“Brendel, you’ve come this far faster than I imagined. I thought it would take you a while longer to understand the true meaning of power,” Tumen remarked after observing for a moment.
Hearing Tumen say this, no matter how thick-skinned Brendel was, he couldn’t help but blush. If it weren’t for the Centaur Lamia telling him the true power of a traveling mage, he might still be lost in power that didn’t belong to him.
Queen Saint Ausoor was clearly well aware of these intricacies and couldn’t help but snort lightly.
“You flatter me, Lord Tumen; I only recently understood these principles.” Brendel sighed; in fact, he had truly realized the unreliability of powers that didn’t belong to him during the battle with Ampere Seale. His experience during the fight against Williams, when he was pulled into the extreme realm and almost turned the tables, was still fresh in his memory.
“It seems you’ve encountered quite a bit,” Tumen said with a gentle smile. “But this is not necessarily a bad thing. Regardless of the outcome, the lessons learned are invaluable for anyone, and it seems you haven’t suffered much loss in these events.”
This was truly just luck, Brendel thought with a pang of regret.
But that was not what he was most concerned about; he was mainly worried about the issue of transitioning into a traveling mage. After all, this was related to whether he could awaken the elements. He pondered for a moment and asked, “Lord Tumen, have you come to reorganize my cards?”
“Pretty much,” Tumen nodded. “You should now understand that the blueprint I laid out for your card deck was simply based on your understanding of your own world. But it is not your own law. To truly become a traveling mage, you must turn what I granted you into knowledge that truly belongs to you.”
“Like these cards?” Brendel asked, looking at the ‘White City Vanguard’ in the card pool.
“Exactly,” Tumen affirmed.
“So what should I do next?” he inquired.
“Don’t you already have ideas in mind? Just follow your thoughts. I’m here simply to tell you some rules that a true traveling mage must follow when you become one,” Tumen replied. “As an apprentice using others’ powers, the rules constrain him far more loosely, but he will never reach the ultimate state. Once you become a true traveling mage, you will quickly understand the true meaning of this inheritance—”
“The truth of traveling mages?”
Brendel looked up. Just as Tumen had said, ever since the battle with Ampere Seale, he had envisioned his own card deck countless times, and to this day, he indeed had a rough framework already.
Although it was not refined in every aspect, creating this card deck was no longer a problem.
Thus Brendel nodded, declaring aloud, “What belongs to the knight, returns to the knight.” As soon as he finished speaking, shimmering silver light flashed in mid-air, and the cards fell one by one.
As the Blade of the White Sun descended, it immediately transformed into the silver ‘Holy Song.’ In “Amber Sword,” Holy Song is a basic skill of the Fran Knight, a special enhancement skill—it allows the Fran Knight to sing a holy song on the battlefield to destroy undead creatures and monsters while generating shields on allies to resist dark magic damage.
This brand-new card appeared to Brendel as follows:
Holy Song
Eternal Song III
Light 2
[Spell]
Pay X mana (Knight, below level), Fran Knight sings the holy song, dealing X damage to non-white beings (monsters, undead).
At the same time, place X counters on each friendly creature; for every point of damage resisted from black spells, remove one counter.
‘O Radiant Temple, behold the pure white flame descending from the heavens, like wings covering the army—’
Then came the Charge, which transformed into the Fran Knight’s ‘Group Charge’:

(Group Trait: When similarly endowed creatures within a certain range gain a 1% damage bonus, the damage increases for each creature with this trait.)
Next was the Golden Battle Flag, Silver Unicorn, and Holy Sword, turning into ‘Inspire,’ ‘Cavalry Drills,’ and ‘Celestial Armament.’
