Chapter 68: Eagerly Anticipating
“Yake, do you realize what an unforgivable thing you just did?”
Aierjisi glared, turning her head to look at Yake, who stood beside her. How dare a mere servant, her own possession, snatch away the honey cake she hadn’t even had the chance to enjoy yet! This was the utmost disrespect!
“Eh? But you couldn’t eat that piece of honey cake, could you?”
Yake tilted his head. He had seen that the honey cake was sitting untouched when he arrived, assuming the Little Princess wasn’t going to have any, so he just popped it into his mouth in a single gulp.
“Of course not! That honey cake was meant to be savored slowly with my coffee, and then you went ahead and ate it without even asking! It makes me so mad, you idiot!”
Aierjisi jumped up from her chair, instantly enhancing her wrist strength as she challenged Yake with a joint lock on his throat.
“Ow! Aier, I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! Mommy, help me!”
Overpowered by the Little Princess’s move, Yake could only helplessly reach out for help, glancing toward Reina, who was sitting across from them.
“Ah, what a rare sight of intimate contact between a couple! Mommy will enjoy this to the fullest.”
Reina ignored Yake’s plea for rescue. She knew Aierjisi wouldn’t seriously harm Yake; their lives were intertwined. If Yake were to be choked to death, Aierjisi would likely follow suit.
“Well? Do you know your mistake now?”
Having tightened her grip on Yake’s neck for a while, Aierjisi figured it was time to let him off the hook—he’d learned enough of a lesson by now.
“I get it, I get it! I won’t do it again! Ah… I thought I was going to die! Aier, that was way too harsh! It was just a piece of cake!”
After finally recovering his breath, Yake gasped for fresh air. He had almost fainted from Aierjisi’s grip!
“Hmph, who told you not to look at the situation? You just took my honey cake without a second thought, of course, you needed a lesson!”
Aierjisi huffed, picked up the new coffee the waiter had just served her, and took a sip, using the bitterness to wash away the sweet taste lingering on her tongue.
“Okay, okay, I’ll make it up to you with another piece of cake. Ah… waiter, please bring me another honey cake and a latte!”
Yake also pulled up a chair from the side to sit down. He casually rubbed his neck; Aierjisi’s earlier grip had left quite an impression on him—he felt it could snap at any moment!
“Yake, have you taken care of things with Xier?”
Reina began inquiring about Xier. Now that Yake had arrived here, Xier was probably settled as well.
“Of course! Xier just had me read her a fairy tale at the bookstore for a bit, and then she sent me over here.”
“I see… that Xier really is something.”
Upon hearing Yake’s words, Reina frowned, sensing something was off. But the next moment, she returned to her usual gentle expression.
“Well then, Mommy won’t disturb you anymore. For the rest of the time, you and Little Aier can enjoy yourselves.”
Reina pretended to leave but was stopped by Yake.
“Mom, there’s no need to rush off. Dinner isn’t for a while yet, right? Let’s chat a bit longer. We haven’t all sat together like this in ages. I can go fetch Xier.”
“No. I have things to do, so I can’t stay with you. I’m sorry. As for Xier, it’s better not to disturb her while she’s reading in the bookstore. She doesn’t like noisy environments. So, please enjoy yourselves!”
Reina finished speaking and quickly ran off, leaving Aierjisi and Yake staring at each other blankly in the coffee shop.
“Uh… Aier, why are you staring at me? I already promised to make it up to you with the cake, didn’t I?”
Seeing Aierjisi continue to gaze at him, Yake felt an uneasy chill, as if the Little Princess was plotting something devious against him.
“It’s nothing; I just remembered something while looking at you.”
Aierjisi thought about the servant she’d taken in during her ‘amnesia’ period and recalled a game setting.
In the game “Beautiful Girl Symphony,” there was a mechanic for replenishing magic. If the character was in the wilderness and low on magic, they could replenish it through so-called intimate acts with NPCs or monsters. The developers had even advertised this as a unique feature! Though Guanyu hadn’t liked that mechanic, considering it akin to forcing his favorite characters to do inappropriate things with others while watching. So, he had vowed never to indulge in it when he first created Aierjisi. But… by the late game, potion resources were running low, and to keep the character’s magic up for skills, he had ultimately caved in.
Back to the point, while Yake’s life was bound to Aierjisi through a contract, their magic powers remained separate. So… should she consider trying to replenish with him? Stealing some of his meager magic to restore her own? The thought crossed her mind—after all, she was in a game world, playing the role of a beautiful girl. Not experiencing some uniquely feminine feelings would be a waste of her gaming efforts!
However, she wondered if the developers had put any real sensations into that mechanic when making the game. Since it was a selling point, they should have, right? She hoped that during the process of replenishing, there wouldn’t be absolutely no sensation involved. That would be so dull!
