“Ah? Young Master, is that really okay?”

Upon hearing that she would cuddle with Lin Nuo for an afternoon nap, Ruo’er became excited yet still struggled to believe it.

“Do I sound like I’m joking?”

“No, no! So, when do we do it?”

“Right now.”

“Oh, okay~”

Ruo’er hurriedly lay on her side, her heart racing. The thought of snuggling up with Lin Nuo for a nap made her nervous. She worried that he might dislike her fluffy hair since she had white fox blood; her large, silvery ears were thick with fur, and she feared Lin Nuo might be allergic if they cuddled too close.

Lin Nuo calmly lay on his side, wrapping one arm around Ruo’er and tucking the blanket over them.

Instinctively, Ruo’er clung to Lin Nuo. This was the Young Master’s request, so it wasn’t inappropriate for her to do so.

She noticed Lin Nuo didn’t sneeze or seem to reject her at all, which made her realize she had been overthinking it. The Young Master was approachable; he wouldn’t mind her at all. It seems I’m the one being overly cautious!

“Oh, Ruo’er, how could you doubt such a kind Young Master? You’ll need to think about this later~”

Being in the same bed with the Young Master felt so warm! His strong chest was nice and sturdy. It would be wonderful if things could always be like this.

Keeping the Young Master warm, sharing a bed, and dreaming sweet dreams every day!

With that anticipation, she couldn’t help but giggle.

“What are you laughing about?”

“I’m just so happy that the Young Master doesn’t mind napping with me~ I couldn’t help but smile~”

Ruo’er’s laughter was pure and innocent, like a little girl who hasn’t yet faced the harshness of the world. Each giggle was genuine, unlike his own adult facade which sometimes hid various emotions beneath a smile.

After a series of troublesome events outside, Lin Nuo was in a terrible mood. Seeing Ruo’er’s fluffy ears stirred a longing within him, reminiscent of wanting to pet a soft white cat.

He recalled that he once had a white cat, and when feeling down, petting that little creature always lifted his spirits.

But that was in the past; now he was a world-ending villain—how could he afford to act so out of character?

“Young Master, am I overthinking? You seem a bit unhappy since you got back… is it because you couldn’t find the princess?”

Ruo’er raised her head slightly, her large, sparkling eyes watching him.

“Don’t think about it.”

Lin Nuo hadn’t even considered looking for the princess. It was more that he was distressed over all the forbidden items he had bought that went to waste, not to mention the troublesome journey back. It was truly frustrating.

Of course, he couldn’t tell Ruo’er that; it was embarrassing.

“Um… Ruo’er just wanted to make the Young Master happier, but I don’t know how…”

“Stop worrying so much. Just sleep well.”

Lin Nuo instinctively placed his hand on Ruo’er’s head, treating her like a little sister going to sleep.

That casual gesture awakened something within him.

The little silver-haired fox with its fluffy ears was so irresistible that he began to stroke her continuously, feeling his mood brighten a bit.

Even the villains need a break sometimes. For now, it was okay to indulge a little; petting this little white fox was soothing for the heart.

Ruo’er felt like a pet being petted by her owner, and she enjoyed it thoroughly, especially noting Lin Nuo’s expression seemed to lighten.

As long as the Young Master was happy, that was what mattered. Plus, it felt so nice to be petted by him~

Ruo’er tried to act naturally, at least showing that she was comfortable being petted. Like a little kitty, if her owner found her clingy, she would receive even more affection.

Of course, the Young Master had a cool demeanor, so she mustn’t seem too needy or he might dislike it. She needed to keep it casual~

As she was being petted, a drowsiness overtook her.

“How long does the Young Master usually nap?”

“About half an hour.”

“Oh, oh, how long does it take to get cold?”

“About half an hour as well.”

“Oh, Young Master, I might sleep too soundly and struggle to wake up, so please forgive me.”

“No worries, I’ll wake you when the time comes. Just sleep peacefully.”

“Okay~”

With that, Ruo’er revealed a sweet smile, snuggling up to Lin Nuo and drifted off to sleep.

She was bound to have sweet dreams!

Ruo’er quickly fell asleep, and Lin Nuo felt quite satisfied stroking the little fox. Plus, since Ruo’er was a white fox, even if she felt cold, her body temperature was higher than usual, quickly warming up the bedding.

He too felt drowsy, heavy-lidded.

After sleeping for a while, he’d be able to absorb her energy.

Then he closed his eyes.

Two hours passed.

Lin Nuo woke up, slowly opening his eyes, feeling utterly drained.

He noticed Ruo’er was missing from his embrace.

“Young Master, you’re awake! I didn’t want to disturb you while you were sleeping so soundly. I’ve made you food; I’m bringing it over now~”

“Cooking? Didn’t we just eat lunch?”

What the heck, I slept the whole afternoon? Impossible! My villain’s schedule is solid; half an hour is plenty to wake up naturally.
