Chapter 7: Did Teacher Aisi Teach Me This Technique?

Chapter 7: Did Teacher Aisi Teach Me This Technique?

Yake’s strength was enough to join the elite team formed by Karito, but within the group, he was far from strong—he was, in fact, quite weak. Even Karito, the leader, understood that upon seeing the Fire Dragon; they had no chance and needed to retreat. It was needless to say that Yake, whose strength didn’t top the charts, had little hope against a dragon.

“Hu… Hu… Hu…”

Yake was aware of his own limitations; if he faced the dragon head-on, he’d be reduced to pulp in less than five seconds. Thus, during his attempts to distract the beast, he spent his time dodging its attacks. However, as time passed, his stamina dwindled. Moreover, the room was engulfed in flames from previous assaults, leaving him less space to evade. With the battle dragging on, Yake felt his breaths growing heavier.

【But Karito and the others should have successfully escaped by now. With Karito as their safeguard, my family’s life shouldn’t be too tough.】

A significant portion of their household income stemmed from Yake’s rewards as an adventurer, so he worried every time he took on a task. If he were to accidentally die, it would mean hardship for his family. Thankfully, he had joined Karito’s team this time; Karito was a man of his word, and if he said he would ensure the well-being of Yake’s family, he would keep that promise.

With his family’s future seemingly secure, Yake felt he had no regrets. However, he felt a twinge of dissatisfaction at the thought of having to end his adventure here.

Of course, the gigantic red dragon couldn’t care less about Yake’s thoughts; all it needed to do was finish this cornered human with one final strike.

Looking at Yake, who was on the brink, the dragon unleashed one last blast of flames. Due to his protective gear, the flames didn’t immediately make contact with his flesh. Yet, the force behind the flames still sent Yake flying into the sea of fire.

The outcome was clear; ensnared in its own inferno, survival was impossible for the human. The dragon was ready to go back to sleep, having been disturbed from a pleasant slumber by the sudden intrusion of humans. Just as it was about to handle them, the group had left behind a mere pawn to delay it while they fled. What a hassle!

Still, the fact that this group had made it to its room proved they had some strength, though it was still inadequate compared to the dragon itself.

Just as the giant dragon intended to doze off again, it suddenly sensed another creature intruding into its chamber. Had that group returned?

Planning to teach the newcomers a lesson, the dragon rose and looked toward the doorway to see who had dared intrude.

“Good, looks like I arrived just in time. There’s still a chance to save him.”

Upon entering the room, Aierjisi immediately extinguished the flames engulfing Yake’s injured body. Although he was severely hurt, as long as his soul hadn’t departed, she could still bring him back.

But really, to challenge a dragon that was so vastly stronger with such a feeble form? As an attendant, that could be considered passable.

“Well, I guess it’s time to clean up this mess.”

Gently placing Yake down, Aierjisi turned to face the room’s master—the fiery red dragon, which was also glaring back at her.

“You’re the one who hurt my subordinate like this, aren’t you?”

Seeing the fire dragon, Aierjisi brandished her Light Whip. After having devoured several Magical Beasts in the ruins, her state was much better than when she first awakened, allowing her to unleash her magic power without holding back.

At first, the fire dragon considered sparing this little girl who had invaded its domain. But seeing her not only refuse to back down but also draw her weapon as if to challenge it, the dragon was infuriated. Did she think a dragon was easy prey? Not just anyone could step on the head of a dragon!

With an enraged roar, the dragon shot a fireball at her. Aierjisi countered with her Light Whip, deflecting the incoming fireballs away to harmless spots.

Since fireballs didn’t seem to work, the dragon decided to crush her under its massive paw.

“Looks like this is all you can do. But honestly, your claws really stink! How long has it been since you washed them? Ugh, as soon as I’m done here, I’m definitely taking a nice long bath.”

Before the dragon’s paw could land, Aierjisi activated her physical enhancement technique, bracing herself to withstand the dragon’s strike. She then wrapped around the dragon’s paw. The stench radiating from it made her cringe—what a terrible smell! Of course, holding onto the dragon’s paw was for launching an offensive, to show it just how strong she was.

“Mm…”

With tremendous effort, Aierjisi lifted the dragon, which was approximately twenty times her size.

What just happened?

The dragon couldn’t comprehend what was going on. It was being lifted up by this tiny creature. Was this some sort of nightmare?

“Yahaa!”

Spinning the dragon around a few times, Aierjisi tossed it aside.

She didn’t have time to mess around with the dragon. If she didn’t hurry and wrap up this battle, that human’s soul was going to leave his body!

“Perfect, there’s fire all around. If I use fire-type magic to finish this, the power will surely amplify.”

Observing the flames still dancing around, Aierjisi decided to make good use of them.

With determination, she spread her arms wide, absorbing the surrounding fire elements into her palms. Coupling that with the fire she conjured with her magic, she gathered the collected flames and formed a small fireball. Though it looked tiny, she was confident it held immense power.

Holding the fireball in her right hand, Aierjisi aimed at the still-rising Fire Dragon and shot the fireball like a beam.

Hit by the intense light, the Fire Dragon let out a few reluctant cries before collapsing, its eyes forever closing.

“Looks like this technique isn’t too bad. Just as Teacher Aisi taught me… Wait, did Teacher Aisi really teach me this? I feel like I suddenly came up with it myself. Should be right? Ah, forget that for now, I need to save this guy.”

Not pondering the origins of the technique any longer, Aierjisi rushed to Yake’s lifeless body. Although this man’s physical form had perished, his soul hadn’t fully departed, meaning she could still save him. It all depended on whether he was willing to accept, to become her servant.
