Chapter 71: Just Like This
With a mindset of giving it a shot, Yin leaped onto the giant’s arm and started crawling towards its head.
Although she had no idea what her plan was, standing on its arm was a good opportunity for her to strike.
The giant shook its arm vigorously, trying to fling Yin off and crush her with its other fist. Yet, no matter how much the giant shook, Yin stubbornly refused to roll off its arm. The giant then decided to use its Iron Fist Holy Judgment directly on her.
“Too slow! If you want to hit me, you should really practice your punching speed!”
Easily dodging the attack, Yin pressed on and reached the back of the giant’s neck, swinging her sword down.
Perhaps because the skin on the back of the neck was less tough than elsewhere, her strike managed to inflict some damage. The giant let out a roar, reaching behind to grab her while hopping side to side, determined not to let her keep attacking its neck.
“Mr. Yake! Miss Aierjisi! Could you please come over and help me hold it down? Don’t let it flail about like that!”
I finally found the giant’s weakness, but if I got thrown off, getting back up wouldn’t be easy. Yin called over Yake and Aierjisi, who were munching popcorn on the sidelines, enjoying the show.
“Oh? Need our help at last? Come on, Yake, stop eating. Once we wrap this up, we can enjoy the celebration and guarantee a feast!”
Aierjisi had been waiting for this moment, eager to lend her assistance, and together with Yake, they set out to restrain the giant.
“Damn it, this thing is stronger than I thought! Hey, Yin, you better hurry up; Yake and I might not be able to hold it down for long.”
Feeling the overwhelming power in her grip, Aierjisi and Yake braced themselves to counteract it.
This boost was always temporary, and Aierjisi urged Yin to finish the giant off quickly.
“Don’t worry. It won’t be long now.”
Yin knew they couldn’t hold out much longer, so she sped up her attacks on the giant’s neck.
The giant, feeling a life-or-death crisis, struggled fiercely, tapping into reserves of strength beyond its normal ability to break free from Aierjisi and Yake’s hold.
“We can’t hold it any longer! Yin, it’s up to you now!”
After this proclamation, Aierjisi and Yake were flung off by the giant. It regained its ability to move, preparing to toss Yin, who was relentlessly attacking its neck.
“Oh! Don’t worry, you’ve bought me enough time! I won’t waste your efforts.”
Yin knew she had to give it her all to defeat this giant. If she didn’t finish it off this time, she’d lose her chance to strike its weakness.
“Ha!!!”
Yin struck down with her flaming sword at the giant’s neck, pushing the blade deeper with all her might.
The giant let out a tremendous roar—was it anger or a scream?—before collapsing to the ground, defeated.
“Phew, finally taken care of. I didn’t expect this guy to be so troublesome. Guess I’ll need to practice handling giant-sized enemies more often.”
Yin deactivated her transformation, wiping the sweat from her forehead. She turned to assess the situation with the City Lord.
“Die, die, die! You bastard City Lord!”
A Jie was still fruitlessly attacking the City Lord.
“Come on, put a little more strength into it, young man. You call that rebellion with no power to back it up?”
The City Lord continued his usual act, ignoring A Jie’s attempts to attack and taunting him instead.
“Ugh… you punk! Dare you take off that armor! Let’s see if I can’t take you down!”
A Jie was finally worn out, bending over and gasping for breath. If it weren’t for the absurd defensive power of the City Lord’s armor, he would’ve taken him down already.
“What’s the matter? Tired already? Next, it’s my turn to counterattack.”
Seeing that A Jie looked fatigued and thoroughly exhausted, the City Lord knew it was time for him to strike back and show this oblivious kid how a City Lord operates. He swung his fist right at A Jie’s face.
“Ah!”
With his energy spent, A Jie couldn’t dodge the City Lord’s next attack. He took the punch head-on and was sent flying, rolling across the ground several times before finally stopping.
“What happened? You were full of energy just a moment ago, and now you’re like this? Huh?”
Watching A Jie struggle to get back up from the ground, the City Lord approached mercilessly. He grabbed A Jie by the collar and lifted him up.
“Honestly, I really want to toss you in jail and execute you publicly in a couple of days. But as the City Lord, I must take vengeance for those citizens you slaughtered simply because you felt like it. So, just endure this for now; it’s something I must do.”
The City Lord looked at A Jie with disdain. He really didn’t want to get his precious armor stained with this thief’s blood. But it couldn’t be helped; such was the duty of a City Lord.
Suddenly, the City Lord tossed A Jie into the air, and at the moment he was about to fall, he kicked him back up, treating him like a shuttlecock, sending A Jie flying up and down repeatedly.
“City Lord, isn’t this enough? You really don’t need to do this personally.”
Yin couldn’t stand the brutality being inflicted on A Jie by the City Lord anymore.
While A Jie killing innocent citizens was indeed despicable, he should just be sentenced to death without further torture.
“No. I think it’s necessary, as this guy has killed so many innocent soldiers. He can’t just die easily. As the leader of this city, I must ensure he pays for his actions. If you can’t watch it, then just step aside and take a break.”
The City Lord was adamant about inflicting a significant level of torment on A Jie before executing him, ensuring it was worth it for all the innocent citizens he had killed.
