Chapter 726: Ruo’er, Just You Wait
Ruo’er had arrived, and Qin Shili now thought she was quite a troublesome character, oblivious to the high skies and the deep earth. After all, she was getting along with Lin Nuo as if they were a real married couple. It was time to make this little pudding aware of the situation.
Having set her sights on Lin Nuo, Qin Shili felt the need to establish dominance since so many girls admired someone as outstanding as him. She had to show her strong and unyielding attitude.
“Please ask her to come out. I’m waiting, and it would be much appreciated.”
“Hm, understood.”
The male disciple bowed respectfully and then went back to the male disciples’ quarters to find Room 110.
Ruo’er was still snuggled up under the covers with Lin Nuo, happily enjoying themselves, when there was another knock on the door:
“Miss Li, Miss Qin requests your presence in the living area. She has something to discuss with you. She is waiting.”
“Uh… I’m busy right now. I can’t meet her at the moment, so please send her back.”
Ruo’er popped her head out from under the covers and immediately refused. She was having a good time with her charming master and wouldn’t go out for any reason.
“Alright then.”
The male disciple played the messenger role, going back and forth to deliver messages between Ruo’er and Qin Shili.
After all, both Qin Shili and Ruo’er were beautiful young women, and generally, male disciples wouldn’t refuse their requests.
“Oh dear, Master, why is Sister Shili looking for me? It can’t be that she wants me to be her maid, right? Impossible, Ruo’er is wholly devoted to serving Master, never leaving his side~”
After spending so long with Lin Nuo, Ruo’er’s speech was laced with a bit of sass, deliberately emphasizing her loyalty to him.
“Don’t worry, she wouldn’t ask a fairy to be her maid. She’s probably just looking to exchange some insights on spirit techniques, but honestly, I think you should avoid her.”
“Why would I do that~? There’s nothing to be afraid of~”
Ruo’er was well aware of Qin Shili’s feelings for her master. Although Shili was excellent in many respects, Ruo’er had her own unique advantages: she had spent the longest time with him, knew his habits, and could cultivate together with him.
That was something other girls could only envy—who had the chance to cultivate with Master?
“In terms of cultivation and skills, you’re both different sizes. She’s bigger, and you’re smaller.”
“Ugh… that’s just temporary. Besides, didn’t my size change last time when I was in danger? What do you think, Master?”
“Pretty good,” Lin Nuo replied coldly.
“Well, if Master thinks it’s good, then it must be beautiful. It’s a shame it only changes during emergencies. If I grow up like that in the future, it’d be great!”
“You will be like that in the future.”
“Ah, Master, don’t comfort me. The future is unpredictable!”
“Other things may be unclear, but you will be like that in the future. There’s no question about it.”
Lin Nuo continued lightly, as if stating the obvious—he was a reincarnator, clear about everything. Did she still want to question him?
“Okay, okay, if Master says so, then that’s how it is~ Master, let’s continue~”
Ruo’er snuggled up to Lin Nuo, pulling the covers over them as she got cozy.
……
“Sister Qin, Miss Li said she’s busy and can’t meet you. She asks you to return.”
“Busy? Why is she busy?”
Qin Shili’s icy words were like a sharp blade, and the male disciple felt a tremendous pressure.
“I… I’m not sure… she just said she’s busy and that she is in Lin Nuo’s room…”
The male disciple’s voice weakened, as if he were the one getting scolded, when he was merely delivering the message.
“Embarking on the immortal path, gaining some confidence. Fine, Ruo’er, I’ll let you show off for a bit today.”
Qin Shili was itching to barge into the male dormitory, find Lin Nuo’s room, and challenge Ruo’er directly.
But she kept her rationality; she wouldn’t just storm into the male dormitory, as that wouldn’t be good for either her or Lin Nuo.
It was different from causing a ruckus at the Spirit Spring. If she entered the male dormitory, Lin Nuo would surely reprimand her. Who would want their wife wandering into the male dormitory?
This Ruo’er, with her status as a maid, imagining she could do whatever she pleased while living with Lin Nuo was nothing but foolish delusion.
You hold the status of a fairy; just this point makes it impossible for you to cohabitate with male practitioners.
Just you wait.
Qin Shili walked away slowly, her silver hair fluttering in the wind, so beautiful that just her silhouette was enchanting.
……
“The two fairies personally coming to Tianling Mountain, I apologize for not giving you a proper welcome. Please forgive me.”
Master Zhao greeted the two fairies from Zifeng Valley, Zhao Zhou and Dong Xiyan, and presented them with precious spirit fruits harvested from Tianling Mountain.
“Master Zhao, you needn’t be so polite; the Zifeng Valley sect and Tianling Mountain sect are friendly allies.”
The speaking fairy was Zhao Zhou, a mentor to Su Kexin, and a friend of her father, Su Lingjiang.
“Master Zhao, we actually came this time to discuss matters regarding the Demon Path. Recently, the number of people succumbing to demonhood has been increasing, with even some in the various sects falling into the demonic pathway. Master Zhao, as the esteemed Xuanyun Sect, please stay alert.”
“Yes, I’ve heard of this matter as well. So far, none of our disciples have fallen into demonic practices, but in order to prevent any issues, we plan to check all our disciples for signs of being touched by demonic forces.”
Master Zhao stroked his long beard and said,
“Falling into demonic practices isn’t easy, especially for those who have cultivated within the sect for many years. It’s a difficult ordeal unless someone leads them astray.”
“Indeed, someone is leading them astray.”
Zhao Zhou agreed,
“Recently, a Demon Practitioner named Wu Zhao has been luring sect disciples into demonhood everywhere. If verbal temptations don’t work, he uses witchcraft to force them into it.”
“Wu Zhao? I’ve heard of him—a notorious Demon Practitioner from the Refining Demon Sect, holding a significant position there. This might be a scheme by the Refining Demon Sect, so we shall remain vigilant. By the way, your friend Su Lingjiang seems to have resurfaced.”
“Yes, he has returned, and I even had the fortune to contact him. He is currently living with his family and will be coming to Tianling Mountain with his daughter, Su Kexin. Speaking of Su Lingjiang, I won’t hide it from you, Master, he nearly fell into demonhood after reappearing; something caused a demon spirit to arise within him.” Zhao Zhou said.
“Really? A demon spirit arose? How could that happen?”
Master Zhao was astonished; it was truly unimaginable.
“He said it was Wu Zhao’s doing. On the day the Tianwu Star fell, there was a massacre. But fortunately, your disciple Lin Nuo dispelled his demon spirit.”
“Lin Nuo? This young man is truly remarkable. He is now at the fourth stage of cultivation, yet possesses exceptional skills, rivaling the esteemed elders. To have dispelled Su Lingjiang’s demon spirit is truly something we never anticipated.”
Master Zhao sighed, amazed at how Lin Nuo was able to dispel the demon spirit arising from the heroic Su Lingjiang; it made one wonder how powerful he truly was.
Of course, only a few people knew about Su Lingjiang’s situation, but Lin Nuo’s previous accomplishments were quite enough to boast about.
The three discussed for a while and prepared to disperse. Zhao Zhou and Dong Xiyan would temporarily stay at Tianling Mountain, while the Xuanyun Sect planned to investigate if their disciples had any contact with demons.
Qin Shili had been waiting, and when she saw Master Zhao seeing Zhao Zhou and Dong Xiyan off, she hurriedly went to greet them politely.
It was nothing much, just a discussion about whether Ruo’er, as a little fairy, should pay attention to her status and refrain from trespassing into the male dormitory area.
