■ Man vs Wild □
Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Commonly abbreviated as T-REX.
If you directly translate this Latin term, it means “tyrant lizard.”
However, what stands before me now is not a Tyrannosaurus but Gav’s true form.
With the polymorph undone, Gav’s original appearance looks extremely similar to a dinosaur—an ancient creature I know.
To be honest, I was slightly startled.
I had come here expecting a regular fistfight in human form, but now it seems like I’m about to star in Jurassic Park.
What’s more, the injury to his arm that Ozma inflicted earlier didn’t seem to matter at all in this form.
After all, Tyrannosaurs barely used their arms, right?
Kyaooooooooo──!
Gav, transformed into a dragon, roared toward the sky.
This roar is one of the signature techniques of dragons called “Roar.”
A timid person might faint just from hearing this sound.
Fortunately, thanks to preheating my virtual magic circuits, I managed to escape the influence of the Roar.
Eventually, Gav lowered his massive head and growled, speaking.
[Are you ready to fight?]
It’s difficult for a dinosaur’s vocal apparatus to articulate language.
Instead, Gav’s thoughts were transmitted to my mind through telepathy.
“Isn’t this cheating?”
I expressed my honest feelings about the current situation to him, and the blue-scaled tyrant chuckled with steam puffing out of its nostrils.
[Gyahahaha! How can it be cheating when I’m using my real body?]
“I understand, I understand…but…”
Fundamentally, the size difference seemed too great for close combat to even work.
After assessing the situation, I wrapped the wind-guard I had only around my arms around my legs as well.
Given this development, I decided to switch tactics to hit-and-run.
As if sensing the movement of mana, his large green eyes sparkled.
[You may say that, but you haven’t lost your fighting spirit.]
I clashed my fists, each adorned with Stormbringer.
This created an enormous wind pressure.
“Since we’ve made it to the finals, I can’t just run away without a fight, can I?”
[Gyahahahaha! Good! Then flail until the end!]
His hearty laughter faded from my mind just as Gav and I began to move.
The colossal body of the dragon charged toward me.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
I could feel the ground shaking beneath my feet while simultaneously propelling myself high into the air by releasing wind under my soles.
Chasing after me, Gav’s massive jaw ascended as well.
I performed a rapid directional change by emitting wind from both palms.
The giant maw snapped shut where I had been standing, and as I cut off the wind from my hands and feet, I slid down Gav’s long neck like a slide.
One Thousand Winds
Then, atop his massive body, I launched razor-sharp blades of vacuum with both hands.
Kagakak!
Even the thickest armor would have been sliced like paper, but it seems the tough skin and hard scales of a dragon are not easily damaged by such attacks.
Nick Iron, whom I fought yesterday, was also of the highly defensive type—troublesome opponents compared to humans who die after just a few hits.
“Tch!”
I clicked my tongue and immediately prepared to leap again.
By ejecting wind from beneath my soles, I rose back into the air. At that moment, I saw Gav unfurling his body.
‘Penta Spell won’t work on him.’
While hovering mid-air, I stretched both hands towards the sky.
Recently, I’ve mostly used magic without any medium, but now I’m wearing orichalcum gauntlets known as the Seven-Colored Gold.
And if there is a medium like a staff, the time required to build up magic is significantly reduced.
Rumble! Rumble!
Dark clouds gathered in the clear sky.
Weather manipulation magic is my number 18.
Gav, hovering below, also seemed to sense something strange and spread his wings.
[Don’t run away!]
Despite his bulky size, Gav flew towards me at incredible speed.
“Damn!”
Canceling the spell mid-cast would waste precious mana, so I hastily began evasive maneuvers.
My movements in the air were far superior to those on the ground.
Dodging the giant tail sweeping over my head, I flipped my body instantly.
Once I stopped maintaining the wind flow from the wind-guard, gravity pulled me downward.
The principle of my flight is basically akin to hovering.
Without continuously emitting wind, my body plunges straight to the ground like a rocket running out of fuel.
During these sharp directional changes, the wind makes it impossible to open my eyes properly, making flight goggles essential.
Seeing my movements, Gav swiped with his massive hind leg while airborne.
Thanks to his long limbs, I almost got torn apart by his claws, but I narrowly avoided the attack by spraying wind at the perfect timing.
Perhaps irritated by my mosquito-like evasive actions, Gav spread his wings and roared.
[Fall!]
Stone pillars erupted from the arena floor.
Pointed rocks shot toward me like arrows.
Upon seeing this, I quickly hid beneath Gav.
The rock arrows heading toward me suddenly halted mid-air.
It appears Gav hastily stopped them, realizing it would harm himself.
And I didn’t miss this golden opportunity.
Wind Hexa Spell –
Thunderclap
At that very moment, the surprise gift I had prepared earlier fell onto the dragon’s head with a dazzling light.
[KRAAAAAAAAAAAH!]
Thunderclap is one of the most powerful wind spells I can use.
How many living creatures in this world can survive being struck by lightning reaching several billion volts?
No matter how strong a dragon is, getting hit by lightning in the sky would surely not leave them unscathed.
And as expected, Gav, struck directly by the lightning, began plummeting to the ground with his scorched black body.
‘Huh? Was it really this easy?’
I couldn’t shake off the unease from the surprisingly anticlimactic result.
Even so, this is a dragon.
There’s no way it would end just like that, I thought.
So, I remained tense, watching the falling colossal dragon body from above.
Gav’s tightly shut eyes suddenly snapped open.
Kyaooooooooo──!
A roar of unimaginable volume echoed.
Stopping his descent mid-fall, he abruptly spread his wings and flipped his massive body. A flicker of light emanated from his snout.
‘Breath!’
I quickly increased the output of the wind-guard to evade my previous position.
KA-BOOOOMMMMM!!!
Moments later, a beam-like breath pierced through the sky.
Even though I was far away, I could feel the intense heat and the drastic reduction of oxygen around me.
Such immense firepower.
The light filled with tremendous thermal energy pierced through the dark clouds and extended endlessly into the high sky before finally disappearing.
After stopping his breath attack, Gav let out a cry and took off again.
The rapidly approaching colossal body.
I hastily cut off the winds supporting my limbs.
Falling from a great height, I could feel the rough wind against my entire body.
Crack!
The flying goggles cracked due to the immense wind pressure.
Like a bird of prey hunting its prey, I looked up at Gav diving down from above.
Though his whole body was charred black, it was evident that the attack wasn’t fatal for the embodiment of nature itself.
Gav’s claws spread wide.
If caught by them, a human’s frail body would be crushed instantly.
Realizing this was a deadly attempt on my life, I clicked my tongue and spread my hands.
Ten Wind Finger Snaps
Ten bullets of wind flew swiftly toward their target.
This time, I aimed not for his tough scales or resilient skin but for his eyes.
“Foolish attempt!”
But Gav closed his eyelids in an instant, blocking my sneak attack, and revealed his fangs.
Realizing I was about to collide with the ground, I flipped my body.
The brief opening he showed…
That was enough.
BOOM!!
Simultaneously landing on the ground, winds enveloped my arms and legs.
The foundation of all martial arts begins with planting your feet firmly on the ground.
And the magic techniques I learned followed this rule closely.
Taking a single step forward, I concentrated the mana flowing through my body into a single point.
Above me, the massive jaw opened wide.
“Let’s see if you can train inside your mouth.”
A huge sphere of condensed storm formed above my hand.
I threw it into Gav’s mouth while shouting.
“Wind Sphere!”
It’s a national rule to announce the name of new techniques.
