Chapter 75: Can You Act a Little Normal?!
“Ahh! The smell of milk after a bath is simply amazing. Once the Blood Clan is revived, we really need to spread this lovely culture to every household. Wait, what was I just saying…?”
Aierjisi held her head, probably because the sheer volume of her memories was overwhelming, causing Guanyu’s control to weaken significantly. Sometimes, she completely forgot that she was just someone who crossed over into a game world. She thought that after defeating those Adrian People, she’d be able to clear the game and return to her rental house, but she kept naturally drifting into visions of plans for reviving the Blood Clan. This simply wouldn’t do; she shouldn’t be imagining things that didn’t even exist!
“Yake, I’m done washing. You guys should hurry up and wash too.”
After greeting Yake, who was reading the newspaper in the living room, Aierjisi headed upstairs alone. Once the little princess left, Yake lowered the newspaper covering his face, revealing the scars from earlier. Those were the marks from his battle to stop Reina from drugging the milk. Thankfully, he had managed to prevent it. Otherwise, if the little princess had drunk that milk, she would probably rush over to force herself on him!
“Sigh, being alive is so exhausting. I’d rather have died back in the ruins.”
Life was tough, Yake sighed. It was incredibly taxing for him. Not only did he have to find ways to serve Aierjisi, but he also had to stop his twisted mother from drugging him. At least Xier didn’t do anything, which saved him some trouble.
“I guess I should wash up and get some sleep. I still need to pack a bit for tomorrow.”
Throwing the newspaper aside, Yake walked into the bathroom, bringing his bottle of milk along. Otherwise, his mom would definitely try to drug him while he was bathing!
While Yake was still in the shower, Aierjisi had already lain down on the big bed, drifting into a deep sleep. Today had really worn her out—Reina had tormented her, and then she had taken a request that involved being hounded by a bunch of slimes. She felt completely exhausted. Less than five seconds after lying down, she was fast asleep.
“Mm…”
Reina quietly approached the room, peeking through a crack in the door to check the situation. Good, only little Aier was asleep in the bed. Silly son, you never would have thought mom still had a trick up her sleeve today. Thinking of drugging little Aier? Oh, I have plenty of opportunities to execute that plan!
“Madam, what are you doing here?”
Just then, Aisi had come upstairs, intending to discuss tomorrow’s departure with the little princess. But upon reaching the floor, he spotted Reina acting suspiciously at the door.
“Huh? Aisi, oh, nothing. Are you here to find little Aier?”
Seeing Aisi arrive, Reina’s opportunity slipped away. After all, Aisi was one of Aierjisi’s subordinates; if she tried to drug the little princess, he definitely wouldn’t let it slide.
“Yeah. Princess is departing tomorrow, so I came to talk about the details. By the way, Madam Reina, what are you hiding behind you? It wouldn’t be a weapon like an Eight Divisions Light Wheel, would it?”
Aisi seemed to have noticed something being concealed behind Reina. Was this woman planning to assassinate the princess now?!
“N-no, I’m just a weak woman without any ability to wield a weapon!”
“In that case, could you show me what you’re hiding?”
Aisi moved closer to Reina, demanding she reveal what was hidden, feeling it was necessary to confirm the situation.
“No! It’s really not a weapon, you don’t need to check!”
As Aisi closed in, Reina grew increasingly anxious; if he discovered her plans to drug little Aier, he’d definitely not let her off easily.
“Madam, I suggest you hand it over. I’d prefer not to resort to violence.”
Aisi warned Reina coldly, urging her to surrender whatever it was. Although the princess instructed him to protect Yake’s family, he couldn’t sit idly by if they had intentions to harm her!
“Little Aier, what are you two doing? The noise is too loud! I just fell asleep, and you two woke me up!”
As Aisi and Reina faced off, Aierjisi stumbled out of the room, rubbing her eyes.
“Princess! I suspect this woman has ill intentions toward you, which is why I sought to check what she’s hiding.”
Aisi immediately reported the situation to the little princess.
“Oh. Aisi, please wait a moment. Reina, if you’re hiding any drugs, just take them out. Aisi won’t blame you.”
Aierjisi looked at the trembling Reina, urging her to reveal the drugs without fear.
“Eh? How did you know I was hiding drugs…?”
Since Aierjisi had already guessed what Reina was concealing, she had no choice but to produce the hidden substances.
“What kind of drugs are those? Are you planning to poison the princess?!”
Aisi relentlessly probed, wanting to understand what the woman was up to.
“N-no, it’s not that. This drug is…”
“It’s a drug to enhance biological functions, isn’t it?”
Before Reina could finish, Aierjisi blurted out the drug’s effects.
“Biological function?!”
Upon hearing that, Aisi was completely dumbfounded. What in the world was happening?
“Aisi, just hold off for now. I’ll discuss this matter with Mama Reina alone.”
Aierjisi waved Aisi off, indicating he should leave. He nodded respectfully and exited the second floor.
“Little Aier, you… saw through everything, huh?”
Reina, looking embarrassed, realized her plan had been uncovered, and she didn’t dare face Aierjisi directly.
“Well, having lived together for so long, I’ve picked up on a few things about your actions. Like how you always take the opportunity to drug either me or Yake, or sometimes both.”
Aierjisi sighed helplessly. She was quite troubled by Reina’s tendency. If she weren’t always plotting drugging, she’d be a wonderful woman, but alas, that was her flaw. If Yake hadn’t interrupted her in time when he sensed something was off, she was sure she would have fallen victim several times already, reduced to nothing but a creature in heat, willing to mate with Yake! Who knows, she might even be pregnant by now?!
“Anyway, Mama Reina, can you please act a bit more normal? Always thinking of jumping the gun like this without considering my and Yake’s feelings. Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to help Yake find a suitable wife on the journey. After all, this continent is so vast, and there are plenty of girls better than me. So please, stop fixating on my marriage with Yake.”
Aierjisi spoke seriously to Reina. Ever since she recovered Guanyu’s memories and realized this was just a game world, she understood that there was no actual chance of being with Yake. She would return home the moment she cleared the game.
