Chapter 76. I Want to See Your Room
Han Fairy finally figured out the reason behind everything. Lin Nuo was taking a bath alone, Qin Shili came in first, followed by Su Kexin, and then the two of them got into an argument, causing a conflict that resulted in a powerful surge of spiritual energy that exploded the spiritual spring.
Ultimately, Lin Nuo was the source of the explosion; both of his female disciples quarreled because of him.
Su Kexin was still young, so her impulsiveness was understandable; however, Qin Shili was one of the most composed and rational members of the Xuanyun Sect. She knew that using spiritual energy in this way would trigger an explosion and would never make such a foolish mistake. Yet, what happened was far beyond her thoughts, and the reason behind it was even more bizarre.
Bathing with her junior martial brother? That didn’t make any sense!
Han Fairy sighed deeply and said, “You three knowingly broke the rules, so according to our sect’s regulations, you must accept punishment.”
The Xuanyun Sect had clear rewards and punishments; no matter how much merit these three disciples had previously earned, committing such a basic error meant they would be punished.
The penalty from Han Fairy’s sect wasn’t too harsh: first, they’d face the wall in silence for half an hour, then copy written documents, and afterward, they’d be restricted from entering the assigned facilities for ten days. The Xuanyun Sect would regularly distribute spiritual pills and magical artifacts among sects, along with opportunities to receive guidance from senior elders in practicing unique cultivation techniques, but for a month, all of that would go to the eldest disciple, Liu Shuqin.
This punishment was nothing to Lin Nuo. The spiritual spring had exploded, so he had no reason to go there anyway. He could just pass the copying work to Ruo’er, who loved studying and writing. As for the things in the Xuanyun Sect, he didn’t care much for them—whoever wanted them could take them; after all, there were no Meat Floss Cakes being issued.
When it came down to it, he did nothing wrong—just took a bath. It was Su Kexin and Qin Shili who caused the explosion, yet Han Fairy said his crime was the greatest and lectured him for quite a while.
After they left the assigned facilities, only Han Fairy and Liu Shuqin remained.
Han Fairy sighed slightly, “Alas, I can’t rest easy with the three of them. Kexin causing a ruckus is one thing, but I didn’t expect Shili to be so reckless as well. Shuqin, as the eldest disciple, please adhere to the regulations and put my mind at ease. I hope you will continue setting a good example for your junior martial brothers and sisters, teaching them self-discipline.”
Liu Shuqin chuckled lightly, “Master, you’re over-praising me. The junior sisters are quite disciplined as well; it’s just that their recent behavior was due to their admiration for our junior brother.”
“Hmm? Kexin is smitten with Lin Nuo; I can see that. But as for Shili, I can’t figure out why she would bathe with him. Is she smitten too? What do you think?”
“Our junior brother is indeed an incredible person, and it’s only natural for Shili to take notice of him. As for why she did that, it’s likely she discovered his charming traits. No matter how proud or aloof Shili is, she is still a woman and can be attracted to outstanding men. If her feelings develop into something like Kexin’s admiration, it wouldn’t be strange at all.”
“Alas, I feel ashamed; I still can’t quite grasp Shili’s mindset. What worries me is that they might let their personal feelings interfere with their cultivation.”
“Master need not worry; I believe this might actually ignite their fighting spirit.”
“If that’s the case, then that’s the best outcome. Shuqin, you are truly the one I can rely on.”
Though receiving praise from her master was comforting, Liu Shuqin felt a strange taste in her heart. Among the four of them, while three junior siblings quarreled over feelings, she remained an outsider, leading a dull and unremarkable life, feeling out of place.
Three exceptionally talented individuals, and here she was just a mediocre practitioner. As the eldest disciple, she truly felt like a real outsider.
…
Late at night, with the cold wind howling, Lin Nuo and the others were on their way back.
“I say, isn’t your dormitory supposed to be over that way?”
Lin Nuo was puzzled; those two little girls were like persistent ghosts, one on either side of him, following closely.
Ahead was the dormitory area for male practitioners. Logically, they should have parted ways half a mile ago, yet they still trailed behind.
As they approached the dormitory area, candlelight flickered, and some disciples still awake could see the three of them walking over.
Su Kexin and Qin Shili were dressed uniquely; one wore a pink and white floral dress paired with cute white stockings, while the other donned a light blue fairy dress with alluring black stockings. Both were stunningly beautiful, not only with charming faces but also with elegantly enticing figures.
“Look, isn’t that the Xuanyun Sect’s disciple Su Kexin and Qin Shili?”
“Yeah, yeah! It’s Senior Sister Shili! So beautiful!”
“I think Junior Sister Kexin is even prettier. But why are they heading toward the male dormitory?”
“Wait, who is that? It’s Lin Nuo?! Why are Junior Sister Kexin and Senior Sister Shili on either side of him? Are they walking him back?!”
The awake male practitioners rushed over to get a closer look, filled with envy. Su Kexin and Qin Shili represented two ideal girlfriend types: the cute and clingy type, and the aloof and cool big sister type—dream girls for many male practitioners.
In the past, they hated Lin Nuo and mocked him, but now that he had achieved great feats, all they could do was begrudge him.
Lin Nuo also noticed the envious gazes from the male practitioners and thought that as more of them gathered, Su Kexin and Qin Shili would naturally feel embarrassed and want to leave.
However, they didn’t want to leave one bit.
“So, are you two saying you want to sleep with me?” Lin Nuo, seeing them not budging, got a bit angry.
“I want to see your room,” Qin Shili replied coldly.
