Chapter 768

Chapter 768: Begging for Moon Tickets in the Fantasy World

【Thunderous Great Peng】 is a魔兽 primarily of the flying type, with lightning as a secondary attribute.

【Wind Element Lord Shylph】, on the other hand, is the absolute master of elemental flight. Any creature other than gods would lose their ability to control the elements of flight in its presence.

If 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 were to seriously engage, a魔兽 like 【Thunderous Great Peng】, which relies on manipulating wind due to its enormous size to assist in flight, might even plummet from the sky.

【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 is precisely its natural enemy!

However, as its controller, one of the eight魔族 that follow Alastair Aldridge, 【Beast Monster Tonnia Allaston】 would never allow it to escape so easily.

Tonnia Allaston did not rush forward when the Demon King was injured; she stood steadfastly in the southern corner of the group. Suddenly, she raised her hand, her brightly painted fingernails spreading out instantly.

Five streaks of light, resembling chains, shot out from her fingertips. As they flew, they thickened and lengthened, becoming as thick as barrels by the time they reached the 【Thunderous Great Peng】.

The neck of the 【Thunderous Great Peng】 was immediately ensnared by these five light chains. The force transmitted through the chains caused its brain to tremble violently, and the thought of fleeing turned to ice.

Tonnia Allaston’s hood was blown open slightly by the wind, revealing her crimson bangs fluttering in the breeze.

Her lips curled beneath the mask, and she pulled down with her right hand, bringing the massive bird beast, with a wingspan of thirty meters, crashing down from the sky.

“Boom!”

The 【Thunderous Great Peng】 shattered the ground, trembling all over as it landed.

“The opponent can summon the 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】, so let this 【Thunderous Great Peng】 serve another purpose.”

Although Alastair Aldridge was agitated, he had not lost his wits.

In the legends of this world, the various elemental lords were often revered as beings second only to gods.

Though this may not entirely align with reality, the power of the elemental lords was evident.

Alastair Aldridge, however, was no stranger to facing elemental lords. He had slain more than one mage capable of summoning such entities.

This injury was merely due to carelessness.

Feeling his right hand fully restored, he lightly pinched his thumb and index finger together, lifting them slightly. The blood flowing from his wrist and chest suddenly flew towards his hand, condensing into a small blood droplet at the tips of his fingers.

Alastair Aldridge’s face had completely regained its calm, concealing any inner thoughts.

He held the blood droplet aloft, and as he continued to pinch his fingers, a dark gray substance slowly fell and merged into the droplet.

Soon, a faint figure began to appear at the center of the blood droplet.

Alastair Aldridge threw the blood droplet forward, and the figure rapidly expanded, transforming into a true physical form.

A naked Alastair Aldridge appeared before him.

Vampire Secret Art — 【Blood Clone】!

Alastair Aldridge’s actions did not cease. He extended his index finger and drew intricate patterns repeatedly on the surface of the 【Blood Clone】.

With the final stroke, the lines covering the entire body simultaneously lit up, quickly forming a dark red full-body armor.

“Go.”

Alastair Aldridge murmured softly.

The 【Blood Clone】 gracefully lowered its helmet visor and then lifted its right hand, spreading its fingers.

Elements gathered, forming a spear.

The 【Blood Clone】 closed its fingers around the spear handle, and its bat wings suddenly spread, carrying it skyward.

“My lord, how should we proceed next?”

A black-robed魔族 stepped forward and asked respectfully.

Alastair Aldridge glanced at it, his eyes flickering with a peculiar expression.

“First, we need to probe the situation.”

On the western city wall.

After 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 fired its second 【Wind Element Gun】, Professor Shylph looked gravely into the distance.

This 【Wind Element Gun】 effortlessly tore through the barrier protecting the魔族, exposing their hidden presence.

Though the barrier was quickly repaired, Professor Shylph had already sensed their voices through the wind.

“I found them!”

She whispered, and the air currents surrounding her momentarily became extremely turbulent.

The wind spirits on the 【Column of Storms】 sensed her agitation and rapidly flapped their wings.

The air currents within the twelve holes of the 【Column of Storms】 became chaotic.

【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 snapped her fingers, and the winds resumed their flow.

Almost instantly, numerous wind blades appeared in front of the city walls.

These wind blades stretched to lengths of five to six meters, floating in layers in the air.

Now that the 【Thunderous Great Peng】 was gone, the battlefield’s winds once again came under the control of the 【Column of Storms】.

It no longer blew the beast tide back but instead revealed its gleaming edge to the charging beasts.

【Mana Card】, 【Wind Element Spirit】, and 【Magic.

This seemingly simple 【Column of Storms was actually the result of the fusion of three advanced technologies.

Professor Shylph did not interfere.

Thus, countless wind blades, controlled by the three wind spirits, advanced toward the beast tide.

The leading beasts, the first wave, were as fragile as paper in the face of these wind blades.

The originally resilient shells, fur, and bones offered no resistance against the wind blades.

As the lower bodies of the beasts continued to run, their upper bodies were reduced to mere inertia.

Blood was scattered in the air, forming a flat plane.

One after another, the beasts were sliced into thin strips by the giant wind blades.

Within a single breath, countless beasts fell.

The next breath… those who witnessed this scene involuntarily held their breath. They struggled to open their mouths, but no sound escaped.

Those fierce beasts that had terrified them were now being cut down like wheat stalks.

If the battle between the 【Stoneclad Great Bear】 and the 【Earth Bear】 had brought them shock,

then the sight of so many dying filled them with fear.

Floating above the city walls, the half-elf professor from Saint Maryann Academy, despite her beauty, seemed like a harbinger of death.

The terrifying beast tide that had posed a huge threat to the entire city and instilled fear in everyone, causing them to fear the city would fall, was decimated in an instant!

Though the vast area left behind would soon be filled by the endless tide of beasts, the emptiness before their eyes was enough to induce a visual terror.

The Flame Sun Legion, who had been considering their next move, suddenly felt cold in their hands and feet, realizing their insignificance in the face of such power. Even breathing felt difficult.

Yet, amidst this fear, there was also a sense of relief.

Nothing could be more comforting than this moment.

During the most dangerous moment since the founding of the Free City, the professors from Saint Maryann Academy happened to be here.

The Free City, favored by fate!

“Boom!”

The armored 【Stoneclad Great Bear】 knocked the 【Earth Bear】 to the ground, raising its massive claw overhead, already securing a阶段性 advantage amidst the destruction of countless beasts.

This massive claw slammed down on the 【Earth Bear】’s head, driving it deep into the ground.

But the 【Earth Bear】 was a pure earth-type魔兽. Even if its head was buried in the soil, it wouldn’t suffocate.

Its claws formed fists, pounding the ground repeatedly, causing thunderous rumbles.

The earth cracked and reformed continuously.

The 【Earth Bear】 desperately fought for control of the ground with the 【Stoneclad Great Bear.

Most of the earth energy was absorbed by the 【Stoneclad Great Bear, but some still slipped away to the 【Earth Bear.

The terrifying wounds on its body, several meters wide, healed at an invisible speed. Its internal energy fluctuations grew stronger.

“Roar!”

The 【Stoneclad Great Bear roared, suddenly turning its palms into fists and striking the head, neck, and back of the 【Earth Bear. The solid flesh was forcibly crushed.

Moments later, a portion of the 【Earth Bear’s body was buried in the earth.

But it didn’t die, and its internal energy fluctuations showed no signs of abating.

“Roar!”

A deeply resonant roar pierced through the ground.

The energy fluctuations of the 【Earth Bear peaked, surpassing the 【Stoneclad Great Bear and seizing control of most of the earth energy.

Countless earth elements converged toward its body.

It pressed its claws into the ground, enduring the blows from the 【Stoneclad Great Bear and lifting its upper body from the soil.

Its face was smeared with blood, and its eyes glowed red with frenzy.

At its heart, an earth element core was rapidly forming.

Once this earth element core was complete, the 【Earth Bear would undergo a tremendous transformation.

“Hmm?”

Professor Pavar Jones on the wall noticed the formation of the earth element core.

Normally, she would have ordered a strong attack on the 【Stoneclad Great Bear to kill it before the 【Earth Bear transformed.

But Professor Jones smiled and instead ordered the 【Stoneclad Great Bear to take a half-step back.

“This is a freshly formed earth element core! It’s rare to obtain such a treasure even in the academy’s dungeon.”

She even wanted to cheer for the 【Earth Bear!

At this moment, from the west, the hidden place of the魔族, a blood shadow shot out!

This blood shadow radiated the obvious fluctuations of blood power, unmistakably a high-ranking vampire.

“Is it a count, marquis, or duke?”

Professor Jones thought to herself, ready to draw a card to fight.

But the 【Wind Element Lord Shylph floating above Professor Shylph’s head had already flown out the instant the blood shadow soared.

To Professor Shylph, the 【Wind Element Lord Shylph was no longer just a mana spirit.

There was an invisible thread connecting them.

It wasn’t a “bond,” but stronger than a bond.

Because it was a soul link!

Through the soul link, Professor Shylph infused a small portion of her soul and consciousness into the body of the 【Wind Element Lord Shylph.

This small portion of soul and consciousness had slowly grown over the years, finally nurturing a unique spirit.

After establishing the link, the latter could think almost identically to her.

Their synchronization was akin to twins with a telepathic connection, acting in unison without words.

【Wind Element Lord Shylph met Alastair Aldridge’s 【blood clone a kilometer away.

Without gods, the battle at the pinnacle of the world began.

Fierce combat!

Alastair Aldridge’s 【blood clone only condensed a portion of the vampire’s power, lacking diversity but not strength.

From the adventurers’ perspective on the city wall, they could only see the golden line representing 【Wind Element Spirit Shylph and the blood light representing the 【blood clone weaving through the night sky, creating streaks of light like sword attacks.

When they first clashed, both chose close combat.

【Wind Element Spirit Shylph condensed a 【wind element spear in her hand, while the 【blood clone wielded a blood source spear.

They fought with spears in the night sky, moving at high speeds. The spear tips pierced through bodies and shadows, clashing hundreds of times in a blink.

But when they grappled and separated, they found no injuries on each other.

— They were originally made of wind and blood, naturally immune to injuries.

However, the magic power within their bodies was heavily depleted.

By the time an “explosion” was heard in the night sky, it was already the sixth minute of close combat.

【Wind Element Spirit Shylph finally began to release wind spells.

Alastair Aldridge’s 【blood clone also began to unleash blood magic!

Meanwhile, Professor Metia’s pumpkin carriage remained hidden in the night sky.

At this moment, the reaction inside the carriage was not from Professor Metia,

It was not Wit Gold, but Ophelia Brad!

Demon King, Vampire, Blood Magic!

Even from such a distance, Ophelia Brad instinctively sensed the mixed aura that elicited a psychological aversion within her.

She covered her mouth, retching several times, her face turning increasingly pale.

Wit Gold tried to comfort her, but to no avail.

Professor Metia, however, continuously observed the的画面 from the crystal ball, dedicating most of her computational power to overseeing the overall situation, leaving no time to pay attention to Ophelia Brad’s reaction.

The last person in the carriage, Aurora Montiel Farley, was also fully occupied with relaying Professor Metia’s instructions, having no time to attend to anything else.

As they had predicted, large groups of monsters were spotted outside both the southern and northern gates of the city.

Among these monsters, some had escaped from the west, while others had been lurking there all along.

Under Professor Metia’s guidance, the Ice Moon Legion guarding the southern and northern walls tensed their nerves.

At one moment, a ten-meter-tall monster appeared just outside the southern gate.

Led by those “giant beasts,” a much smaller yet still dangerous wave of monsters emerged outside the western gate!

Soon after, signs of another monster wave were discovered outside the northern gate.

At this moment, the [Azure-Eyed Tyrant Young Dragon]’s [Destruction Burst Gale Bullet] engulfed the demons outside the Administrative Building, and Dak Demon took advantage of the situation to ride onto its back, flying towards the west wall alongside the two-legged wyvern close behind.

When Dak appeared on the battlefield, the [Earth Bear] had just completed its transformation, standing upright under the moonlight and roaring loudly.

The aura it emitted was no weaker than… perhaps even stronger than the [Stoneclad Great Bear]!

However, the outcome of a battle is never determined solely by so-called “hard power.”

The [Stoneclad Great Bear] roared angrily and lunged at the [Earth Bear].

The ground shook.

In the night sky above, the magic released by [Wind Element Lord Shylph] and the [Blood Clone] exploded in the air like fireworks.

Both sides chose spells that could be quickly cast at this moment.

Though these spells might have limited power, when pushed to their limits, they could greatly disrupt the opponent.

The most common use was to block the opponent’s movement routes!

Once the opponent was forced to stop, the acceleration needed for high-speed movement again would become a tiny vulnerability in this seamless high-speed combat.

And the advantage built up from these small vulnerabilities was like a series of small weights tipping the scales.

The battle between [Wind Element Lord Shylph] and the [Blood Clone] intensified further.

As their magic collided like beams of light, explosions followed them across the night sky.

“Ah!”

The [Azure-Eyed Tyrant Young Dragon] let out a dragon roar and finally landed on the wallhead.

Dak immediately jumped down, walking to Professor Shylph’s side with a serious expression.

Professor Shylph did not turn around despite the approaching footsteps.

The wind had already carried the message she wanted.

“Professor, did you find it?”

Dak looked at the gradually darkening tide of monsters, whispering.

During the flight from the Administrative Building to the wallhead, Professor Metia had briefly summarized the events happening here to him.

Although he had just arrived, he was not entirely ignorant of what was going on here.

Because Professor Shylph had been completely focused on listening to the wind, Professor Metia found no chance to relay the events happening inside the Administrative Building.

Thus, Professor Shylph asked, “Is it over there?”

Dak nodded and said, “Not quite over, but nearly. In any case, everything we could do has been done; now it depends on the city’s own recovery capabilities.”

Professor Shylph immediately understood the general situation. Without moving her lips, her clear voice continued to echo in Dak’s ears: “It’s just beginning here. We’ve found the hiding places of Number Two and its subordinates, but we can’t confirm if they will move again.”

As for the monster tide, it was not worth worrying about.

Dak narrowed his eyes, scanning the two battlefields, and whispered, “Should we take the initiative to attack?”

“Mmm.” Professor Shylph gently nodded but quickly added, “Not you.”

Dak paused slightly, feeling somewhat helpless as he touched his nose.

Their mission was not to defend the city but to find Number Two and reseal it.

If they just stood on the wall, Number Two wouldn’t willingly collide with them like a rabbit running into a tree stump.

Logically, given the current situation of the demon remnants, if the battle here turned disadvantageous, they would quickly retreat and hide again.

Therefore, only by seizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and taking the initiative to attack could they achieve something.

Being stranded in the furnace upon arriving at the Free City was an unexpected event, but it wasn’t necessarily a bad surprise.

Dak’s heart suddenly skipped a beat as he noticed someone missing from the wallhead.

Lily Laplace, who had long disappeared.

“Found it!”

Lily’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

Deep in the forest, nearly ten miles away from the wall, a clearing appeared unexpectedly.

Lily lay atop the head of the [Illusion Faerie Dragon], smiling down at the silent clearing below.

The overall shape of the [Illusion Faerie Dragon] resembled a long-necked dragon, but hanging on its elongated neck was not a dragon’s head but a round cat’s head.

Scattered across its body were wings of dragonflies, limbs of turtles, and a tail of dolphins.

Additionally, on either side of the cat’s head were two dragon horns.

Despite Dak’s memory of the [Illusion Faerie Dragon] only meowing, it was indeed a fourth-tier golem, and an eleven-star one at that!

As Lily’s exclusive mount, the [Illusion Faerie Dragon] was both fairy-type and dragon-type. Its core ultimate skill was the incredible technique called [Fairy Illusion]!

Invisibility, shadow-stepping, wall-penetrating, teleportation, duplication, space-warping, dispelling illusions, entering dreams… even transformation were all encompassed within the [Fairy Illusion] ultimate skill.

The [Illusion Faerie Dragon] could transform into a dragonfly, turtle, dolphin, cat… and even a dragon!

At this moment, Lily was utilizing the [Illusion Faerie Dragon]’s invisibility to silently approach the demons’ hiding place.

“Meow~” As it meowed, circles of pink light emanated from the [Illusion Faerie Dragon]’s cat eyes.

The concealment barrier protecting the demons was exposed to both Lily and the [Illusion Faerie Dragon].

It did not break the barrier but allowed their gaze to pass through, seeing the invisible.

Lily excitedly observed the demons within the barrier, her attention first drawn to the [Thunderous Great Peng].

This giant bird was crouching behind the [Beast Woman] Tonnia Allaston, trembling slightly.

After shifting her gaze from the [Thunderous Great Peng], Lily saw a familiar figure.

Alastair Aldridge, the Demon King!

Almost instantly after Lily’s gaze fell on Alastair Aldridge, the second-in-command Demon King abruptly lifted its head. Three blood-red droplets, arranged in a triangular pattern, appeared in its eyes and began to rotate.

This was the innate eye technique possessed by the third eye of the three-eyed demon race.

The [Illusion Faerie Dragon]’s invisibility was seen through,

and Lily and Alastair Aldridge’s gazes truly clashed.

“Ao, discovered~”

Professor Lily covered her mouth, startled.

Alastair Aldridge frowned deeply: “Imp?”

As soon as its voice fell, the demons behind it reacted suddenly.

One of the hunched black demons suddenly raised its wand, pointing it toward the sky.

The wand was nearly two meters tall, with branches entwined around its body, and a huge eyeball embedded at its tip.

That eyeball turned to look at the night sky, and an intense white light shot out from it, illuminating the entire sky above them.

But the imp and its mount had already vanished without a trace.

“Space teleportation?” Alastair Aldridge narrowed his eyes.

Using the keen perception derived from the rare demon race — the [Void Eye] — it successfully detected the barely perceptible spatial fluctuations.

Among the eight demons, one had transplanted a [Void Eye] into its palm. It quickly opened its hand, aiming southward.

A beam of demonic light burst forth from that [Void Eye]!

Unlike the illusion-dispelling light emitted by the wand’s eyeball, the light beam from the [Void Eye] possessed immense power.

However, it only pierced through a thin, illusory shadow.

The imp did not quickly flee after evading capture.

Its body had merged with the void, generating spatial fluctuations that perfectly masked itself during the separation of the illusionary clone.

The [Illusion Faerie Dragon] had transformed into a chubby-faced cat, tightly clinging to her shoulder.

She walked through the void, skillfully avoiding the [Void Eye]’s field of vision and weaving through the demons.

Separated by a realm, she couldn’t attack, only curiously observing this group of demons.

Apart from Number Two, there were nine other demons in this region — one was sleeping underground!

If it weren’t for Lily, they definitely wouldn’t have discovered that sleepy demon integrated into the earth.

Lily thought, her little nose proudly raised, then strolled among the demons again.

The black-cloaked demons wore identical hats, but their masks had different patterns, seemingly distinguishing their identities.

Lily wanted to see through the masks to identify these demons, but the masks seemed fused with their faces, distorting them and making it impossible to recognize their true appearances.

She sighed disappointedly and walked to Alastair Aldridge’s side.

This Demon King’s senses were too sharp; she couldn’t observe it directly, not even from the side.

She carefully observed for a long time, finally confirming… this was indeed the Demon King!

At the moment of confirming its identity, she activated the [Illusion Faerie Dragon]’s other ultimate skill — [Fairy Cube]!

The demons searching for Lily suddenly felt a warning in their hearts, but the space beneath their feet had already been divided into nine sections.

With the instant appearance of the “井”-shaped spatial cracks, the area was covered by a special battlefield effect.

The nine squares created by the spatial cracks suddenly opened downward like pit traps, exerting irresistible gravitational force that swallowed everything, including Alastair Aldridge and ten other demons, along with a giant bird.

The squares closed, and the cracks disappeared.

Lily Laplace stepped out from the void, her palm unknowingly holding a third-tier magic cube.

“All caught!”

Lily muttered to herself. The surface of the magic cube occasionally bulged outward, but it remained resilient and didn’t burst immediately.

She raised her hand, bringing the [Fairy Cube] close to her eyes, and closed one eye, trying to see inside more clearly.

Ten demons and one giant bird were trapped in twenty-seven separate fantasy worlds.

At this moment, one of the nine magic cube worlds in the sky revealed a huge eye, and the intelligent beings within the cubes cried out in fear or awe.

Lily discovered Alastair Aldridge and several other demons within.

Though she wanted to observe further, she immediately moved the cube away and drew a mana card from her deck, quickly muttering a summoning spell.

Three seconds later, the light array released from the mana card locked the magic cube firmly.

Then she drew another mana card and continued summoning, adding another layer of barrier around the magic cube.

Then she drew…

Under this layer of reinforcement, the spatial barrier of the [Fairy Cube] became increasingly resilient, and the protrusions caused by internal attacks significantly decreased.

Satisfied, Lily patted her chest and flapped her wings, flying back toward the West City Gate.

On the wallhead.

Dak looked anxiously toward the dense forest to the west.

Lily was acting as a scout, tasked with further confirming Number Two’s existence and locking down its location to prevent it from escaping.

This task was not particularly difficult for an imp.

As long as the distance was far enough, the imp’s natural abilities could avoid most forms of detection.

Just like Professor Didi could transform into a small butterfly, Professor Lily could naturally transform into a small dragonfly.

Once transformed, they hardly left any traces.

Discovered.

So there is still some security.

However, because the person executing the task was named Lily Laplace, even Professor Shylph had no real confidence in her.

Therefore, they couldn’t have possibly thought of it.

Lily actually managed to wipe out that group of demons!

“Swoosh!”

The left arm of the 【Blood Clone】 was severed in an instant by the spear blade transformation of 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】, but that left arm immediately turned into countless bats and reassembled at the cut on the 【Blood Clone】’s left shoulder, becoming a complete left arm again.

But during that brief moment of stagnation, the 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】’s 【Wind Element Spear】 pierced through the 【Blood Clone】’s left eye.

That spear went straight through one side of its face and penetrated to the back of its head.

With a twist of her right wrist, 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】’s 【Wind Element Spear】 instantly produced endless gales, shattering half of the 【Blood Clone】’s skull.

But after this strike, 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 did not stop; she immediately swept across, blowing apart the entire head of the 【Blood Clone】!

Even with this 【Blood Clone】, without its head, it temporarily lost its ability to move, plummeting from the sky.

Not letting up, 【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 pointed her spear, causing countless wind blades to form a gale around the 【Blood Clone】’s body, turning it into blood plasma in an instant.

Thus, this 【Blood Clone】 with high-level vampire power was dead beyond death!

At the same time, the battle between the giant beasts on the ground had already been decided.

While the 【Earth Bear】 was indeed powerful after its transformation, the 【Stoneclad Great Bear】 had a Magus supporting it from behind.

Professor Jones did not summon new Magus Golems, but continuously used Magic Cards to support the 【Stoneclad Great Bear】, finally digging into the chest cavity of the 【Earth Bear】, extracting the heart hidden within and the 【Earth Element Core】 formed on the other side.

This 【Earth Element Core】 was also known as the 【Heart of the Earth】, a treasure of the earth element.

The massive vitality sustained the last of the 【Earth Bear】’s life, with energy from the ground still flowing into its chest, healing the wounds near its heart!

To prevent it from regenerating a new heart, the 【Stoneclad Great Bear】 crushed the brain of the 【Earth Bear】 under Professor Jones’s command.

The simultaneous victories on both sides made Professor Jones smile. Only then did she notice the arrival of Dak and others.

At this moment, Sister Carrian, City Lord Montiel Farley, and others had already arrived on the battlements riding Wyverns.

But amidst the surging tide of thousands upon thousands of monsters, a sense of decay was already evident.

【Wind Element Lord Shylph】 took the 【Earth Element Core】 from the claws of the 【Stoneclad Great Bear】, flapped her wings, and flew back to the battlements, handing the core to Professor Jones.

Beside her, Professor Steven Harvey stood motionless… doing nothing!

A Necromancer is a profession that is taboo, and although Professor Steven Harvey could easily make the corpses of monsters on the battlefield rise again, it was not the time for him to act yet.

The dense wind blades released by the 【Column of Gale】 seemed to have no end, slicing countless monsters in half, their blood flowing into the moat, turning the water a vivid red.

But the monsters felt no fear—perhaps something drove, whipped, or dominated them, preventing them from being afraid.

Hence, even though there was immense terror ahead, the monsters behind continued to surge forward.

The momentum of the monsters’ assault on the city remained undiminished.

City Lord Sona Montiel Farley walked to the edge of the wall, resting her hands on it. Her fiery red eyes flickered with flames.

The corpse of the mountainous 【Earth Bear】 lying in the middle of the battlefield made her realize the danger of this wave of monsters immediately upon her arrival.

If Professor Shylph and the others had not come, would she and her subjects be able to withstand such a terrifying wave of monsters?

The answer was obvious.

During Cynthia Saint Altair’s exploration of the Mountain of Gods, no one else would appear like her, bringing miracles to this young city.

But fortunately, there was no need for such a scenario.

Professor Shylph and the others were indeed here, and without any casualties, they gradually dismantled this unprecedentedly terrifying wave of monsters.

“Even the Undead Demon King at his prime was just this level, right?”

City Lord Montiel Farley muttered. She had participated in the final battle, assisting the Hero team to ultimately seal the Demon King. The strength of that Undead Demon King was still deeply etched in her memory.

If she hadn’t pushed the powers of the Fire Elemental and the Sun Giant to their limits, she wouldn’t have qualified to participate in that great battle.

But she did play a role in that great battle, truly defeating the Demon King.

The power currently displayed by Professor Shylph, though not comparable to the Demon King, was at least on par with that of Hero Bret Gold.

Unlike Hero Bret Gold, however, the hand of the Wind Elemental Lord held no Holy Sword.

“Regardless, this city has finally been defended!”

She thought to herself, and suddenly, a tiny Imp appeared in the depths of her eyes.

Lily was returning quickly.

Since the 【Illusion Faerie Dragon】 needed all its energy to maintain the 【Illusion Cube】, Lily had to return herself.

Her smile was radiant, like a student who scored 105 out of 100 on a test, eager to receive praise from her parents.

But when Professor Shylph noticed her return, she frowned.

“What’s going on, Metia?”

This was the first time she had proactively contacted Professor Metia since the battle began.

Metia Bartholomew inside the Pumpkin Carriage could only say, “Lily used the 【Illusion Cube】, and I didn’t see anything else due to the barrier.”

Her scattered crystal balls had quietly infiltrated the thick forest.

But to avoid detection, the crystal balls were far away, seeing very little.

She could only make some predictions based on the 【Illusion Cube】 in Lily’s hand.

However, those predictions were unreliable, so she did not mention them.

Professor Shylph asked her for the same reason.

Since she couldn’t get any confirmed information from Metia, Professor Shylph could only tighten her brow and wait for Lily’s return.

The barrier at the hidden location remained intact, preventing wind from entering.

“When, when, when! Look what I caught!”

Professor Lily’s voice was like a wind chime, bringing a different sound to the bloody battlefield.

ヾ(o???)?ヾ

But when she excitedly flew down from the sky, she found Professor Shylph and the others with stern faces, looking at her suspiciously.

Lily immediately became angry.

But then she saw Little Dak in the crowd, her expression brightened, and she flew towards him with the 【Illusion Cube】.

Sarah? Jones? Forget it!

Little Lily flew in front of Dak, holding the 【Illusion Cube】 proudly.

Dak’s gaze moved from the strangely familiar big cat face to the 【Illusion Cube】, hesitating as he said, “Is this… a sealing device?”

“It’s the 【Illusion Cube】!” Lily happily replied, “It contains twenty-seven fantasy worlds.”

Dak quickly analyzed the situation and finally read something from Lily’s expression, but he was still uncertain, saying, “Sealed inside?”

“Yes, yes, yes!” Lily nodded vigorously, “All of them!”

“All of them?” Professor Shylph exclaimed and stepped forward.

Lily immediately hid the 【Illusion Cube】 behind her back, showing a displeased look.

A hint of helplessness flashed across Professor Shylph’s face, but she remained serious, saying, “Let me see it.”

But at this critical moment, Lily threw a tantrum.

“Let me see it,” Dak interjected.

Lily immediately placed the 【Illusion Cube】 in his palm.

Dak gave Professor Shylph a signal and then focused intently on the cube in his hand.

With the naked eye, the surface of the 【Illusion Cube】 had six colors, each face having nine squares, totaling twenty-seven blocks.

According to Professor Lily, each block contained a fantasy world.

“This is just like the 【Magic Cube Building】!”

Dak’s mind suddenly recalled a childhood animation he had watched, and he instinctively wanted to rotate the cube to make each face the same color.

“Don’t!” Professor Lily quickly stopped him.

Dak immediately stopped and looked curiously at her.

Professor Lily explained, “You can’t turn it, otherwise the worlds inside will be inverted, reconstructed, and cracks will appear.”

Dak instantly understood and closed his eyes, then opened them, fully activating his 【Eye of Truth】.

His eyes turned golden, allowing him to see invisible things.

His gaze thus penetrated the surface of the 【Illusion Cube】, revealing the twenty-seven fantasy worlds inside.

He first looked at the central square on the front face, discovering a pink, surreal world like a dream.

Colorful bubbles floated randomly throughout the world, and cute animals jumped between them, easily entering and riding the bubbles to fly into the sky.

A teddy bear with a scarred face (stitches) wobbled forward, chasing a black-robed figure smaller than the buttons on its eyes.

The black-robed figure wearing a special mask was out of place in this pink world, clearly a demon sealed within.

Dak knew what Professor Shylph wanted to confirm. He pushed his 【Eye of Truth】 to its limit and discovered that the demon was indeed a real human.

Then, habitually assessing the demon’s value with his 【Eye of Truth】, he got a slightly abnormal result.

The demon’s value in the 【Eye of Truth】 was roughly between that of a 【Trash Slime】 and a 【Wrestler Eagle】, similar to 【Magfire】 and the 【Blood Crystal Crown】, but inferior to the 【Blood Holy Sword】 and the 【Emerald Holy Sword】.

A demon’s value being lower than a Holy Sword.

Was this reasonable, or unreasonable?

Without a reference point, Dak couldn’t confirm well.

And he didn’t know the demon’s strength either. Different demons surely had different values, which was undeniable.

So he didn’t express his doubts immediately, continuing to look at other worlds.

Twenty-seven fantasy worlds, ten demons, and a giant bird, of course, not every world had someone.

Dak searched a bit before finding a second demon in one of the squares.

This demon wielded a two-meter magic staff, sitting on a small island twenty square meters in size. The island had only one coconut tree with three fruits that could secretly open their eyes and innocently observe the sudden appearance of outsiders.

Outside the island was an endless ocean.

Underneath this sea, various mysteries might be hidden.

But Dak’s thoughts were no longer on these fantasy worlds. His gaze focused on the demon, his eyes shining with gold.

After a moment, he withdrew his gaze and found a third demon in another square.

This demon had an abnormally strong physique, with bulging muscles rendering the black robe ineffective. During combat, its horn directly pierced the hood, revealing short green hair.

When Dak looked, the demon was fighting a rabbit ten times its size.

Dak’s gaze fixed on the demon, then quickly shifted to the next one.

Nine black-robed demons, one 【Thunderbird】, and number two—Alastair Aldridge.

Dak didn’t examine the details of the fantasy worlds, but quickly scanned all the demons imprisoned within and eventually returned his focus to one of them.

Not Alastair Aldridge, but another demon wearing a black robe and mask, seemingly unremarkable.

At this moment, Professor Lily had fallen silent. Initially, she was still babbling, but as Dak’s expression grew increasingly serious, she wisely chose to pretend to be dead.

Seeing that he had finished, Professor Shylph immediately asked, “How is it? What did you find?”

Dak’s brain raced, and he said, “There are ten demons and one 【Thunderbird】, each presenting nearly identical value in the 【Eye of Truth】, except for one demon whose value stands out.”

“If my judgment is correct, the demon Lily caught is only this one that is real!”

Chapter 769

“Mm, let me see.” Professor Shylph thought as expected and reached out her hand towards the Illusion Magic Cube.

But Lily forcefully slapped her hand back, then immediately took the magic cube from Dak’s hand, staring intently at the square she pointed to.

Her gaze instantly pierced through the barrier of the Illusion Magic Cube, revealing the black-robed demon trapped inside.

The demon had no distinctive features, but even locked within the Illusion Magic Cube, it remained in a deep sleep.

Lily had a vivid memory of it, and instantly recalled that this was none other than the sleepy demon that had been hiding underground all along ( ̄Д ̄).

“So, Lily fell for it?”

A huge exclamation mark appeared in Lily’s mind, quickly turning into another question mark.

She clearly remembered that the nine demons above ground were all active; Alastair Aldridge could even activate the third eye of the trisect demon to unveil the Illusion Faerie Dragon’s invisibility.

There was also a black-robed demon who could use a wand to dispel invisibility or illusions, and another who could use the Void Eye…

Could all those demons be fake?

Impossible!

Lily shook her head vigorously.

But little Dak said they were fake…

What could be so powerful to create such convincing illusions?

Lily pondered for a moment, then suddenly raised her head and said, “Be careful, I’ll release one to take a look.”

“Alright.” Professor Shylph nodded immediately.

Professor Jones and Montiel Farley stepped forward voluntarily.

Just as Dak tried to lean in, Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck with a deft force, turning him to the back.

His expression darkened, and he found himself blocked by Olivia.

Meanwhile, Professor Lily, with a serious demeanor, began to peel away the reinforced seals on the outside of the Illusion Magic Cube. The Illusion Faerie Dragon on her shoulder, upon receiving her signal, emitted a soft, kitten-like meow.

“Meow~”

One of the squares quietly opened.

The demon trapped in that illusionary world was brought out with a burst of light, appearing among everyone.

This demon wielded a two-meter-long staff, hunched over, looking ancient.

As soon as it was released, it immediately became alert. The enormous eyeball on its staff suddenly opened, and its mana surged rapidly—then, Montiel Farley snatched the staff away, leaving the demon stunned.

“Kill it!” Lily said coldly.

Professor Jones immediately stepped forward. Her right arm transformed into a massive steel gauntlet, and her fingers were wrapped in layers of mechanical armor, forming a giant mechanical hand.

She lifted the mechanical hand high and, without hesitation, slammed it down.

A tremendous force instantly erupted, crushing down on the demon’s head.

“Bang!”

Amidst the splattering flesh and blood, the demon’s muscles and bones were crushed to nothing, turning into a mess of meat and blood.

Dak covered his nose and mouth abruptly, then noticed everyone else’s expressions remained unchanged. Only then did he take a small breath to steady himself.

Professor Jones raised her hand, and the mechanical gauntlet on her right arm dissipated into mana, with the blood and flesh sticking to her hand dripping off.

Professor Steven Harvey stroked his chin, watching the blood and flesh curiously, then suddenly said, “It’s indeed fake.”

Lily pouted and said, “It looked so real!”

Professor Harvey shook his head, pointing his staff at the opposite side and whispering an incantation.

Half a minute later, a beam of green light shot from the tip of his staff, illuminating the puddle of blood and flesh.

In just a moment, that puddle of blood and flesh turned into a pile of mud under everyone’s astonished gazes!

“Nightmare Mud Demon,” Professor Shylph suddenly exclaimed.

This somewhat awkward-sounding name referred to a demon species that was supposed to have been eradicated centuries ago!

“Nightmare Mud Demon?” Professor Metia repeated, tugging at her chin, “If I remember correctly, it should have been extinct long ago. Could it be Number Two’s creation?”

Dak, hearing this name, shook his head and said, “It’s not recorded in Into the Abyss.”

Professor Steven Harvey responded, “There’s no such thing as extinction. The Nightmare Mud Demon is a variant of the Nightmare demon species. They can’t reproduce and only come about through mutation. It’s normal that it takes centuries to produce one.”

Montiel Farley, looking at the staff in her hand that had turned to mud, frowned and asked, “Could you explain more clearly? What exactly is a Nightmare Mud Demon? A new type of demon?”

Professor Shylph glanced at her and quickly explained, “Nightmare Mud Demons are indeed a type of demon. Like nightmares and mana spirits, they can erode dreams and feed on them. The difference is that Nightmare Mud Demons can shape their own dreams and bring life and objects from their dreams into the real world in the form of clay.”

Dak said, “In simpler terms, they can turn dream people into clay figures and transform dream objects into clay sculptures.”

Montiel Farley immediately understood, “So, the demons Professor Laplace caught were actually clay figures made by the Nightmare Mud Demon?”

“Probably.” Lily pursed her lips and roughly picked up the Illusion Magic Cube, dumping out the sleepy demon inside with a “thud.”

Professor Shylph stated, “According to the records, once a Nightmare Mud Demon uses its clay ability, it will remain trapped in its own dream unable to wake up. In its dream, every clay figure is real, including itself. Only when all the clay figures are destroyed or external forces intervene can it be awakened.”

She turned to Professor Steven Harvey and asked, “Professor Harvey, how should we handle this properly?”

Harvey immediately pointed to his head and said, “Kill it. There’s a clay core in a Nightmare Mud Demon’s brain, which is the core of its special ability. Once extracted, it can be used to make a Dream Machine.”

“A Dream Machine?” Dak showed a puzzled expression.

Harvey explained, “It’s a device that can present dreams in the form of clay within certain limits. If the materials are good enough, it might even surpass the capabilities of this Nightmare Mud Demon. Of course, anything like this always has its uses once created.”

Seeing Professor Shylph’s hesitant expression, he added, “Nightmare demons can enter dreams autonomously, and Nightmare Mud Demons can even create their own dream settings, making themselves appear as someone else in their dreams. You won’t get any information from them.”

Professor Shylph shook her head and said, “We won’t know unless we try. We must extract information about the demons’ plans and Number Two’s exact location.”

And so, they tried and failed.

When Professor Shylph awakened the Nightmare Mud Demon, all the demons trapped in the Illusion Magic Cube instantly turned to mud.

The Nightmare Mud Demon suddenly grinned wickedly, and the light in its eyes vanished as it exploded its own brain!

Fortunately, Professor Harvey rescued it in time, securing the clay core intact.

Professor Harvey held the clay core like a precious treasure.

Professor Shylph, however, had a grim expression as she turned to the wall and grabbed a crystal ball from the air.

“Metia, reposition Number Two’s coordinates. Don’t let it escape!”

For them, dealing with a monster attack wasn’t a major concern, nor was eliminating remnants of the demon clan. But catching Number Two was absolutely necessary!

Inside the Pumpkin Carriage.

Professor Metia was in a state of distress.

Due to the fierce response from the west gate, the tide of monsters charging towards them was disrupted, causing many to flow towards the south and north gates, increasing the defense pressure on both sides dramatically.

The High Wall of Free City had three gates on each side, one large and two small.

The larger main gates on the north and south sides were manned by Ice Moon Legion troops, while the smaller side gates were entrusted to adventurers in the city.

Originally, this arrangement posed no significant issues, as the sturdy walls could keep the monsters at bay with the combined efforts of soldiers and adventurers.

However, as the number of monsters outside grew, remote attacks from the city walls gradually became ineffective. Suddenly, someone rushed out and opened the gates!

Although there was a moat outside the gates, powerful monsters didn’t need bridges; they could easily leap across it.

Thus, without warning, a flood of monsters poured through the gates, causing chaos inside the city.

At that moment, Professor Metia displayed remarkable command skills, issuing precise orders to everyone near the gates.

Some immediately turned their guns to eliminate the disguised demons, others charged towards the incoming monsters, and some risked their lives to close the gates, halting the chaos instantly.

Metia Bartholomew was a perfectionist.

After quickly containing the chaos, she immediately dispatched nearby individuals to hunt down all the invading monsters, ensuring every one was swiftly eliminated to prevent civilian casualties.

Yet, misfortune struck again.

While she was still managing the gate here, several other gates suddenly fell—through the same method!

Demons infiltrated the city and launched simultaneous attacks, turning what was once an impregnable fortress into a leaky bucket.

Her attention was now divided among multiple breaches, but despite this, she promptly responded to Professor Shylph’s inquiry with a decisive “Yes.”

After that single word, she immediately conveyed Professor Shylph’s message to Ophelia.

Ophelia Brad had already suppressed her urge to vomit. Without questioning the reason, she immediately instructed Wit, “Prepare yourself, we’re switching consciousnesses.”

Wit, though reluctant, knew this was a critical situation and sat upright, closing his eyes.

Ophelia swiftly retrieved the switch in her hand… then suddenly realized, “It’s already night!”

“Damn, I got too focused!” Professor Metia paused, then quickly replied to Professor Shylph, “It’s dark, eyes closed.”

Professor Shylph was momentarily stunned, then after a while said, “What about the prophecy?”

“Wait a moment.” Ophelia responded, then clasped her hands around the crystal ball and began casting a spell rapidly.

As mana surged, silver moons appeared in her eyes, and the crystal ball gradually reflected moonlight and starlight.

About half a minute later, she suddenly chanted several notes, and the crystal ball between her hands glowed brightly.

At the same moment, faint moons appeared in the sky at the gates of the northern and southern sides, where the city gates had been breached. Stars accompanied the moons, falling from the sky like shooting stars, crashing down one by one!

Those monsters, in various postures and roars, suddenly felt bright lights approaching from above and were smashed to pieces by the seemingly delicate yet heavy starlight!

In an instant, almost all the monsters that had entered through the gates were killed.

“I have to do it myself…”

Professor Metia muttered and suddenly spoke up.

“Close the city gates!”

The crisis at the city gates was resolved.

Professor Metia relaxed, then slowly said to Professor Shylph, “I’ve told you countless times, prophecies aren’t easy. Can’t you stop relying on prophecies whenever something difficult comes up? It puts a lot of pressure on me!”

Professor Shylph: “So, are you going to make a prophecy?”

Professor Metia: “…Fine, I’ll do it.”

“Ah, my life as a tool…” Professor Metia rubbed her shoulders and prepared to say, “Sarah, I found it!”

Professor Shylph suddenly frowned, “So soon?”

Metia slowly turned her head, her gaze piercing through the carriage, and whispered, “Right here.”

If we want to predict the outcome of a war, the first thing we need to know is why the war started.

When the professors assumed that Number Two would retreat out of caution, they didn’t realize that Number Two had such a clear understanding of its own existence and would spare no cost to save Number One.

They treated Number Two as a demon king, while Number Two saw itself as Number One’s subordinate.

Thus, there was a fundamental difference in their basic perceptions.

All subsequent deductions were therefore completely wrong.

The characters came to interrogate Number One’s exact location. Regardless of how they considered it, they had indeed locked onto Professor Metia’s position, and Number One, whom they ultimately sought, was also on the same carriage!

—Though it hadn’t discovered this yet.

Professor Metia’s pumpkin carriage effectively isolated Number Two from sensing Number One, even though they were so close, there was no trace of any presence.

Of course, this had something to do with the night and Number One’s slumber.

The night wind of the Free City was as sharp as a knife, and the Thunder Great Peng, with a wingspan of thirty meters, now flew silently in front of the pumpkin carriage.

On the back of the Thunder Great Peng, Zoar Oraston inscribed a concealment barrier magic circle, turning the Thunder Great Peng into a mobile base.

Alastair Aldridge Number Two was currently atop the Thunder Great Peng, beside him was the aged demon holding a two-meter staff.

This was one of the members of the Demon Elders’ Council, the legendary lich with thirty-three soul boxes — Ian Tatel.

At the end of the war, the human seer spared no cost to use divination, found, and destroyed its hidden thirty-two soul boxes. Everyone thought it was dead beyond death, but they didn’t know that decades ago, it had sent one of its soul boxes into the kingdom’s treasury.

It woke up from a treasure chest in the treasury three years after the war ended and quietly slipped away — to hide the last remaining soul box, it didn’t take anything from the treasury.

After hiding in the shadows for many years, Ian Tatel remade several new soul boxes before daring to step out of the darkness again.

The two-meter staff in his hand was an old-era staff alongside God’s Wrath Fire and Thunder Divine Power — the Ghost Eye!

“Your Majesty, is the thing that can lead us to revive the golden age within this carriage?”

Ian Tatel stared intently at the pumpkin carriage, his voice hoarse.

Alastair Aldridge’s lips curled slightly as he said, “At least, we can find clues from this carriage.”

“What are we waiting for! I am willing to lead the charge!” On the back of the Thunder Great Peng, the robust Demon Man Vernon Illectra, muscles bulging like mountains, knelt down and pleaded.

The Lich Ian Tatel, the Beast Monster Zoar Oraston, the Demon Man Vernon Illectra, the Necro-Sewer Demon Rororo, the Vampire Naralee Vlad, the Tower Demon Arta, the Dead Swamp Lizard Paul, the Half-Winged Banshee Dorothy Myrda, and the Mud Nightmare Demon in eternal slumber.

These nine demons were the core group Alastair Aldridge had gathered over the past half-year.

“Necro-Sewer Demon, if you don’t want to end up like the Mud Nightmare Demon in eternal slumber, you’d better restrain your pride and recklessness,” the Necro-Sewer Demon Rororo raised his palm, with the Void Eye in his palm illuminating the carriage, his voice low.

“Rororo,” the Demon Man Vernon immediately protested, “That was Mud Nightmare’s own choice. We all know, Mud Nightmare is about to be consumed by its own dreams!”

“Let’s hope its death was worthwhile,” another graceful figure, equally elusive as the Demon Man Vernon, even if hidden under black robes could not conceal their identity — the Vampire Naralee, said softly.

“Arguing is meaningless,” the tall and thin Tower Demon Arta said matter-of-factly.

The subordinates’ arguments did not affect Alastair Aldridge’s thoughts, because to it, these demons were not important.

As long as Number One was rescued, and there were enough resources, such level demons could be obtained in abundance.

Although the current era was only ten years since the end of the war, the once-back-to-the-wall alliance of races was already a thing of the past. The demons’ situation was more relaxed than during the final stages of the war — if there weren’t any Magi!

The rapid development of mana technology was unforeseen and now the biggest variable.

But if used properly, it could turn into an opportunity.

For demons, who naturally possessed powerful mana, the threshold to master mana technology was even lower than that of humans.

If the war had not ended at the peak of the mana technology explosion, and if the demons could hold on for another decade, even the most arrogant demons would no longer dare to underestimate the Magi.

If the demons began to comprehensively research and learn mana technology, then who would be the true ruler of this world would be uncertain.

Alastair Aldridge’s eyes opened wide, tightly staring at Professor Metia’s pumpkin carriage.

A vast amount of mana surged.

Water and fire elements began to converge towards his eyes between heaven and earth.

Alastair Aldridge’s left eye turned ice blue, and his right eye turned fiery red.

These eyes, one from an Ice Flame Demon and the other from a Magma Demon, were performing his signature combination skill — the Icefire Light Kill Cannon!

Alastair Aldridge’s lips curved, and ice and fire elements entwined under the control of the magic circle, shooting out explosively!

Between him and the carriage, a massive pillar of light spiraling with blue and red appeared.

Before the light pillar touched the carriage, countless black runes burst forth. These runes formed the shape of a black dragon, circling the carriage swiftly, forming an indestructible spell barrier.

Inside the carriage, violent shaking occurred.

Professor Metia put down her crystal ball and picked up her wand, drawing a circle on the carriage wall, which instantly showed the outside scene within the circle.

Everyone else finally saw the Thunder Great Peng and the nine demons standing atop it.

“They’re targeting us!” Professor Metia said gravely.

Ophelia Brad fixed her bloodshot eyes on Alastair Aldridge standing atop the Thunder Great Peng, her gaze filled with blood.

Though Number One was the true Demon King, it lacked a physical form, and even its soul had transformed into Wit’s appearance, almost devoid of any Demon King aura.

Encountering Number Two, the Blood Princess truly recalled past fears — those fears were transforming into hatred!

Had it not been for Wit being beside her, she might have rushed out uncontrollably.

Wit frowned and asked, “Is he Number Two?”

Aurora glanced at Wit from behind and immediately understood.

Number Two had come to save Number One!

“Bang!”

Alastair Aldridge’s first Icefire Light Kill Cannon failed to break through the pumpkin carriage’s spell defense, but standing there, it continued to launch consecutive Icefire Light Kill Cannons every three seconds.

In just half a minute, the pumpkin carriage’s spell defense endured ten Icefire Light Kill Cannons and finally showed signs of instability.

“The carriage’s defenses won’t last long, prepare for battle!”

Professor Metia took out twelve Mana Cards from her deck and waved them in front of her, arranging them in a circular arc, one by one.

Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries…

Twelve Mana Cards, twelve constellations.

Professor Metia’s lips moved rapidly, chanting a special summoning spell using the secret method of the Star Tower, activating these twelve constellation cards simultaneously.

Twelve star maps floated out from the cards, forming a massive constellation map.

Professor Metia took out the thirteenth Mana Card from her deck and started a ritual summon!

Ophelia Brad quickly regained her composure, biting her finger until blood dripped, forming a blood pool less than a meter in diameter beneath her.

She stood in the blood pool, her entire aura subtly changing as her hair, originally restored to its original color, turned a deep red under the influence of blood mana.

Her eyes gained a blood-colored shadow, making them appear slightly elongated and seductive.

Her lips also took on a deeper red hue, as if painted with dark lipstick.

With just this change, her gentle and refined demeanor now contained a hint of allure and beauty.

But upon closer inspection, one could see a natural charm that carried the venom of a snake.

Hatred for the Demon King had not clouded her rationality.

Wit’s presence played a significant role in this.

She drew a Mana Card and summoned the eight-star human creature — the Blood Source Sword Saint!

This Mana Spirit Card, crafted together with the hero Bret Gold, was actually a token of their love.

The Blood Source Sword Saint’s entire body was covered in armor, long hair tied into a ponytail, face covered by a mask, revealing only eyes and forehead, with blood-red patterns at the corners adding a touch of feminine allure, yet her brows exuded a martial spirit.

As a swordsman, the Blood Source Sword Saint’s build seemed petite, but her proportions were excellent. Wearing a blood-red armor, her legs were straight and long, indicating agility.

“Arise, prepare to draw your sword,” Ophelia Brad whispered.

The Blood Source Sword Saint nodded slightly but did not reach for the Bloodthirsty Sword at her waist.

Though the Bloodthirsty Sword, a magical sword capable of absorbing blood and converting it into mana to enhance attacks, could not surpass the limits of the Blood Source Sword Saint as a Mana Spirit.

Holding the Mana Card — the Illusion Soldier Curse, also known as the Holy Sword Curse!

Wit Gold looked in shock at the Blood Source Sword Saint receiving the Holy Sword Curse, unable to suppress a thought he did not want to accept.

But the Blood Source Sword Saint, as if performing a routine task, activated the Holy Sword Curse with Blood Source power.

The Mana Card released increasingly intense blood light in her palm.

Then, the Holy Sword Curse transformed into a finely detailed blood holy sword, completely different from the blurry holy sword Wit had summoned!

Clearly, the Blood Source Sword Saint had a much greater mastery over the Holy Sword Curse than Wit.

At this moment, the Blood Source Sword Saint transformed into a “Hero”!

“Gululu.”

Wit swallowed hard.

Since awakening the Bloodline of the Blood Clan, he gradually neglected the mastery of the Holy Sword Curse, still stuck in the initial stage where he could only summon a blurry light sword.

The Blood Source Sword Saint’s performance stimulated his nerves, and he reached for his Mana Card deck, whispering, “I must fight…”

Behind him, Aurora did not summon a Mana Card; instead, she extended both hands, and two elemental spirits flew to her palms, one an Flame Sun Elemental and the other an Ice Moon Elemental.

Before becoming a Magus, she was first an Elemental Master, and a dual-attribute Specialized Elemental Master!

“Protect Wit,” Professor Metia quickly said after seeing her two spirits.

“Understood,” Aurora nodded obediently.

Wit: “…”

Professor Metia stood up, tapping her robe with her wand, causing runes to jump out and form a spell barrier around her.

She stepped out of the carriage, followed by the Mana Spirit summoned through ritual.

Shylph and others knew they were in danger, but it would take some time to get here from the West City Gate.

If they stayed in the carriage, she worried her precious carriage would be smashed by the outside Number Two.

“Shouldn’t I have the ability to delay for a few minutes?”

Thinking this, she lifted the curtain and stepped out.

“First, summon the Celestial Maze… at least buy some time…”

But as soon as she leaned out, a swift blood shadow darted out from her side.

The Blood Source Sword Saint’s back now had a pair of agile blood wings, propelling it suddenly into the air.

The figure, streaking across the sky, left countless afterimages, with blood light flashing wherever it held its sword, slicing the sky.

This eight-star Mana Spirit, with its single-handed might, charged like a storm towards Alastair Aldridge Number Two standing atop the Thunder Great Peng!

The Blood Princess Ophelia Brad emerged from inside at this moment, standing shoulder to shoulder with Professor Metia.

Professor Metia sighed lightly, pointing the Mana Card — the Celestial Maze — at Alastair Aldridge’s back.

Mana surged, and a massive celestial array instantly appeared on the back of the Thunder Great Peng, swallowing all the demons except Alastair Aldridge and the Lich Ian Tatel into the Celestial Maze!
