Chapter 77: Departure (Part 2)

Chapter 77: Departure (Part 2)

“Hey, do you have a girl you like? After all, you are my servant. As your master, I feel it’s necessary to help you find a partner.”

“Huh?”

Upon hearing the Little Princess’s question, Yake was once again dumbfounded. He thought she would ask something like, “Will you regret leaving with me?” or something equally profound.

“What do you mean, ‘huh’? I’m asking if you have a girl you like.”

Seeing Yake’s reaction, Aelgiss was quite dissatisfied. She jumped up and hit him on the head with her tiny fist.

“Ah… A girl I like? Of course I do! I’m not gay, so I definitely like girls.”

Yake, being 24 years old, was still young, but if he couldn’t find someone by this age, it would be even harder when he was middle-aged.

“Oh? That’s good! Tell me her name. Maybe I can help you win her over.”

Aelgiss leaned on the bed, propping her face up with one hand, eager to know who the girl Yake liked was. With her skills as the Blood Clan Little Princess, helping him catch a girl would be a piece of cake.

“Umm… well…”

Yake hesitated, unsure whether to reveal his feelings.

“What are you shy about? Just say it! Don’t worry, I won’t laugh at you.”

Watching Yake stammer, Aelgiss grew impatient. She wanted him to hurry up and say the girl’s name so she could help him.

“Her name is Aelgiss Platin. Yes, the girl lying right in front of me.”

Yake just gave up and admitted it. He had developed feelings for the Blood Clan Little Princess during their time together.

“Ah? You like me? Hey, Yake, are you joking? I’m seriously talking about this!”

Hearing Yake’s answer, Aelgiss couldn’t believe he actually liked her. Sure, she might have been a bit foolishly cute and somewhat popular, but for Yake to like her? Ridiculous! Wasn’t he trying to perform and trick Reina just before?

“I’m not joking! I really do like you! I’m not lying about that.”

Yake remained firm in his stance. Even if Reina hadn’t said anything before, Yake wasn’t planning on liking anyone other than the Little Princess, for now.

“Then, what do you like about me? I don’t think I have anything that fits your taste.”

“You’re cute. That’s enough.”

“Ah? Cute? You think I’m cute?”

“Isn’t it cute? I think your silly, adorable side is really likable, so I fell for you. Is there a problem with that?”

“Well… I guess there’s no problem.”

Aelgiss pondered for a while. Yake’s flattery was something she couldn’t refute. She had chosen to use her cute persona to grind through the game, after all. But she never expected this would backfire on her.

“However, Yake, you should understand. You’re human, and I’m part of the Blood Clan. While getting married shouldn’t be an issue, have you considered the aftermath? I can’t bear children for you, and who knows, I might still look like this little girl when you die.”

If Yake truly liked her, Aelgiss could accept it. But she needed to let him know the consequences of choosing her. Marrying a girl who couldn’t bear offspring wouldn’t lead to a happy ending, at least not based on earthly customs and experiences.

“I know that. But what does it matter? I like you. Whether you can have kids or not is irrelevant! And isn’t it great that even when I grow old and die, you’ll still look like you do now?”

Seeing Yake’s excitement, Aelgiss came to a realization: This guy was definitely a loli fan, and hopelessly so.

“Sigh, forget it. I’m a fool for discussing this. I’m just going to sleep.”

Continuing the conversation was pointless. Aelgiss chose to close her eyes and drift off. But… what was this feeling? The moment she found out Yake liked her, her heart felt a strange sensation, as if it were addictive and impossible to escape from.

“You really are easy to embarrass.”

“Ah? Who’s embarrassed, you jerk! Do you have any idea how much older I am than you? Plus, I’m your master! Is it okay for you to talk to your master like this?”

As soon as Yake said she was embarrassed, Aelgiss sprang up like an angry cat, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at Yake’s face.

“See, see! Isn’t that just a reaction that shows you’re embarrassed? If I hadn’t hit the mark, you wouldn’t have reacted like this.”

Yake caught the pillow and kept talking.

“Talk less! Servants shouldn’t talk back to their masters! If you keep this up, you’ll sleep on the floor tonight!”

Pouting, Aelgiss picked up another pillow and went back to sleep. Seeing her threaten him, Yake decided not to say anything more. It appeared he had a long way to go if he wanted to win over the Little Princess. However, with the principles Xier had taught him, he felt he had enough confidence to capture her heart.

“Ha… I should sleep early too. I’m completely worn out today.”

Yake yawned and climbed into bed.

Twenty minutes later…

ZZZ…ZZZ…ZZZ…

Hearing Yake snoring, Aelgiss sat up. It wasn’t that she couldn’t sleep due to the noise; instead, her heart was restless, making it impossible to calm down.

“I really can’t comprehend this. What’s happening to me? I’m a guy, so why does Yake’s confession make me react like this?”

Looking at Yake, who was fast asleep, Aelgiss felt like kicking him off the bed. It was so frustrating! Why did he have to say he liked her and stir up her feelings? It kept her from sleeping! But really, asking him which girl he liked made her a big fool too.

Why was she feeling like this? There was no way anything could come of it between her and Yake. She was a guy, after all, and didn’t even belong to this world. Could it be… this was influenced by Aelgiss’s memories?
