Episode 77: The Exile Template
To be honest, I don’t really know much about Jilnias Academy.
This is because in the original story, Jilnias Academy was one of the four major schools where Tourak didn’t directly get involved.
While students from Jilnias Academy would occasionally appear and leave behind some crazy inventions, the school itself was never featured as a setting.
That’s why I don’t know anything about the beautiful girl standing before me.
Rescuing her was easy thanks to Mizuki Senpai.
It probably also helped that it was a low-level dungeon, not too difficult to begin with.
The only person there, that beautiful girl, bowed deeply to us with great enthusiasm.
“―Thank you so much! I owe my life to you!”
She had brown hair in a mid-length style and a generous bust.
At first glance, she seemed like an ordinary beautiful girl, but her dialect was incredibly strong.
Are you, by any chance, a named character?
“It’s good you’re safe. Still, are you really alone? Even if it’s just a D-Rank dungeon, it’s dangerous to be here by yourself.”
Mizuki Senpai was right; dungeons are meant to be tackled in groups.
There should be at least two people.
Solo exploration is something for A-Rank adventurers and above.
Still, this is troublesome.
I wasn’t planning on meeting any students from Jilnias Academy yet.
No, first things first, I should be grateful for meeting another beautiful girl.
“That’s… due to certain circumstances… Ah, let me introduce myself first!”
With those words, the beautiful girl smiled warmly.
“My name’s Miuye Airu! I’m a first-year student in the Maintenance Department at Jilnias Academy. My hobby is development, and I usually work on repairing Dive Gears.”
Miuye Airu… what? There’s no data on a beautiful girl like this in my records…
“Your data seems rather incomplete, doesn’t it?”
Shut up.
Still, she’s quite the beauty.
Hmm, she seems like a junior-type character.
Even though we’re technically the same age, our interactions could be interesting.
If paired with Solciera, they’d make a great team – cool-headed master and energetic assistant. It would look great visually.
Decided.
I’ll ask her for favors.
Even if she can’t build a TS machine herself, I’ll request her to introduce me to someone who can.
She’s a beauty, so surely she knows many people. And ideally, those people are also beautiful girls.
“Maintenance department…? That makes it even harder to understand why you were alone.”
Indeed, as Mizuki Senpai said, it doesn’t make sense.
Why, I wonder. You’re from the maintenance department, but it’s not like you’re particularly strong or anything.
“Well, during the dungeon exploration, I got kicked out of the party…”
Miuye said this with a somewhat embarrassed tone but without any hint of despair.
Kicked out…?
Eh, the kind of person who gets expelled in modern dungeons…?
Feels almost like a protagonist storyline.
“To go through all the trouble of kicking someone out inside a dungeon…”
Seeing Mizuki Senpai’s stern expression, I understood.
Indeed, that’s strange.
Come to think of it, weren’t they trying to kill her?
I feel like I’ve been in a similar situation before.
The previous owner of this body was exactly that kind of pioneer.
“In short, they tried to kill me. I was suddenly abandoned deep in the dungeon, which was terrifying. Luckily, my Dive Gear saved me.”
“…I see. Good thing we arrived in time.”
Mizuki Senpai wore an indescribable expression.
And I didn’t know what to say either.
Because this girl nearly got killed.
By being expelled from her party.
What kind of treatment is that for a beautiful girl?
“Now that I’ve reached B-Rank explorer status, they apparently don’t need my Dive Gear maintenance anymore. I wish they’d remember who upgraded their system! They called me useless, and I was genuinely upset!”
Huh?
This isn’t the kind of beautiful girl I expected?
So, you contributed greatly to strengthening your party, but then you were mocked and expelled by people who forgot your contributions?
“…By the way, Airu-san, does the functionality of the Dive Gear system you maintain degrade if you don’t regularly service it?”
“What made you ask such a specific question all of a sudden?”
Well, there’s something that caught my attention.
If my guess is correct, this girl is more than just a beautiful girl.
“Call me Miuye, no honorifics needed! Anyway, you’re spot on. See, Dive Gear references its user’s real-time physical condition, so errors inevitably accumulate daily. That’s why daily maintenance is essential.”
“Did you explain this thoroughly to your party?”
Miuye shook her head and said, “Even if I explained, they wouldn’t understand.”
Is it okay for students of Jilnias Academy to not understand these things?
But this raises a possibility.
The possibility that this girl might be a protagonist type who gets expelled.
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Nothing, forget it.”
I knew there was no story involving Jilnias Academy in the main Lutra plot.
Which made me complacent.
Considering there are social games too, it wouldn’t be strange for spin-offs to exist without my knowledge.
The original author mentioned spin-offs would likely feature Kisou Academy or Kroma Music Academy, but clearly, this girl radiates far too much protagonist aura.
Ah, so this is a Jilnias Academy spin-off.
In that case, we’re definitely…
“Irregular.”
“Eh? Irregular?”
“Yeah, my bad. Sorry about that.”
Here’s the gist of it.
【The Exile of Jilnias Academy – Without the special program I set up, you guys won’t become stronger, but I don’t care anymore. Let me do as I please~】
Never thought I’d meet a protagonist-level beautiful girl here.
How grateful I am…
What was originally planned for this story?
Did someone save her from this predicament, or did Miuye come up with a brilliant idea to escape?
“By the way, what would have happened if no one came to help?”
“I’d have died. No way to escape, and no way to defeat the dungeon boss.”
“Anyone you think might come to your rescue?”
“Umm… not really?”
Hmm, can’t tell which is the canonical version.
“Kei, why are you asking such random questions all of a sudden?”
“…Just curious.”
Nope, shouldn’t have asked that here.
For now, it’s best to stick together with her, find a spin-off-like plot twist, gently adjust the course, and slip away unnoticed.
Also, while we’re at it, I’ll ask her to introduce me to someone who can build a TS machine.
“Mizuki Senpai, how about we take her back to Factom General Academy? If they know she’s alive, those who left her here might attack again soon.”
“True enough.”
This girl is undoubtedly a protagonist.
We must treat her with respect.
Most likely, we’ve disrupted some event or flag in her storyline.
Until we figure out a solution, we need to stay with her.
“Since you’re rambling on about random stuff, you just want to spend more time with the new beautiful girl, right?”
Cool × Energetic Girl!
“Not hiding it, huh?”
Later, I’d love to interact with Solciera.
If it’s unrelated to the original story, a little contact won’t hurt, right? Hahaha.
Don’t worry, don’t worry. I’ll make sure to return her storyline to its proper conclusion.
I’ve read plenty of these kinds of stories, so I’m confident in understanding the flow.
“So, if it’s alright with you, Miuye, how about coming to Factom General Academy?”
“Is that okay? I don’t have anything to offer in return?”
“Don’t worry about it. Our academy isn’t petty like that.”
“Then, I’ll accept your kind offer.”
Miuye said this and bowed politely.
Hmm, indeed, her hairstyle and color are unremarkable upon closer inspection.
A protagonist, or perhaps the initial template for character creation… The more I look, the more she fits the protagonist mold.
Since this is a Jilnias Academy spin-off, it probably won’t tie deeply into the main story, and the scope will likely be small.
What if it turns into a lighthearted tale about beautiful girls developing things?
If I disrupted the story from the start, I might end up as a major offender.
Getting involved with Miuye might turn out to be a sin.
“If that’s the case, Teruue Mizuki shares the same sin, doesn’t she?”
She’s a beautiful girl, so it’s fine. What are you talking about?
