Chapter 79: Only 3% Chance of Winning

Chapter 79: Only 3% Chance of Winning

“Well… how much chance do you think we have of defeating them in the end?”

Though I had previously said that this was the last question, Aierjisi couldn’t help but ask another.

“Honestly, I’m not very optimistic about you all. Because the connection between this world and the weather has become incredibly weak, we can’t provide any support to you. You’ll have to rely on yourselves. But given your current strength, dreaming about defeating those Adrian People is just that—a dream. If I had to rate it, your chances are probably less than 10%, maybe only 0.3%.”

Although she didn’t want to discourage the Little Princess, the truth had to be told; after all, it was a matter of life and death.

“Only a 3% chance? Tch. What? That’s actually pretty high!”

“Huh?”

Gabriel thought his ears had mistaken him. Did that Little Princess just say a 3% chance was high?

“Having a 3% chance is enough for me! It’s way better than those ridiculous 1% drop rates in games!”

Even though that 3% chance was indeed low, there would definitely be many hard trials in the battles to come. But still, that 3% chance was enough to give her hope to keep fighting.

After all, even when the chance of pulling an SSR was only 1%, many players still threw their money at it just to get that one card. If they could endure that kind of life, how hard could it be to achieve a 3% chance?

“Yeah, genuinely interesting! It seems the decision to bring you all from Earth was indeed the right one.”

Gabriel understood why the God had decreed to bring a few people from that planet called Earth to save the world. With this mindset, she could indeed be a decent savior.

“Do you have any last questions? My time is running out. This is probably your last chance to ask me anything.”

Gabriel could sense that the connection with the Little Princess was fading. In about a minute, it would likely be completely severed.

“None left. Thank you, Angel-sama, for coming to chat with me and clearing my doubts.”

“No need to thank me; after all, as the one who brought you here, it’s my duty to answer your questions. If there’s nothing else, I will cut the connection.”

“Wait a moment! If I can meet the God, please pass on a message for me.”

“What message?”

“Shove it! You god who treats people like chess pieces!”

Aierjisi raised her middle finger towards the sky in her dream, expressing her discontent towards that so-called God. Without even asking for her opinion, they tossed her and the other players into this world to be saviors. That God was really too unreasonable!

“Ha! Alright, I’ll pass that message along. But whether that God will understand, and how he’ll react, I can’t say.”

Gabriel had never met someone quite as amusing as her. To dare raise a middle finger to a God, what kind of courage did that take? Truly admirable and commendable!

“If there’s nothing else, I’m going to disconnect now.”

“Yeah. Thanks for your hard work, being the liaison. Oh, right! I have one more question.”

“What is it? Speak up, time is short.”

“Never mind then. It’s not a big deal. I wanted to ask how you Angels actually come to be, but that’s probably not something you can explain in a few words, right? Let’s save that for next time.”

“Ha! So that was it! Indeed, the birth of Angels isn’t something that can be summed up in a few sentences. We’ll talk about it more next time. Now, I’m preparing to disconnect. Take care, and I hope we can meet again.”

“Goodbye, Angel-sama!”

With that, Gabriel cut off the connection with Aierjisi. The dream world she had created shattered, and Aierjisi was forcefully awakened.

“Aier? You’re awake? How do you feel? Is there anywhere that hurts?”

Seeing Aierjisi stir, Yake hurried over to help her sit up, checking if she felt any discomfort.

“Don’t worry, I feel great! Just used a bit too much magic power during the fight. That Alien Creature was really strong, and I had to expend quite a bit of power to take it down. By the way, where are we? Yin, why are you here?”

What was that saying? A beautiful day ends with seeing Yin. Aier had planned to sneak a bit of blood from Yake while no one was looking to replenish her energy, but with Yin here, that plan was out the window.

“The City Lord was concerned it might be dangerous here, so he sent me to protect you.”

“Thank you for that, City Lord. But now that I’m awake, I don’t need your protection anymore. You can leave.”

“Aier, saying that isn’t very polite. Yin-san stayed by your side the whole time you were unconscious.”

Yake felt compelled to defend Yin, unable to overlook how the Little Princess was treating her.

“It’s fine, Mr. Yake. Now that Aierjisi-san is awake, I don’t have to stay here any longer. I’ll take my leave first. Also, here’s an invitation to the evening party the City Lord is hosting. It’s for both of you.”

Yin pulled out a white invitation and placed it on the table, one of her duties from the City Lord.

“Alright, thank you for taking the time to accompany me while protecting Aier. We’ll definitely attend the party tonight.”

Yake beat Aierjisi to it, exchanging polite words with Yin before she departed. The Little Princess seemed to have some unpleasant feelings toward Yin, and Yake couldn’t quite figure out what had happened between them.

“Phew. Aier, your words were a bit rude earlier. Ouch!”

Just as Yake turned to lecture the Little Princess, she playfully bit down on him, pinning him down with glee.
