Chapter 80: Thunder Roar God.
When the consecutive fireballs erupted from the mouth of the jumping Black Wolf Bird, and the end of the flames emitted a faint bluish glow,
Jie Jie confirmed it.
This guy was definitely a Black Wolf Bird.
He wanted to jump back, but those swift fireballs were hard to dodge, so he took a few hits.
His retreat was cut off. Lifting his head, he saw the enraged Black Wolf Bird raising its beak and pouncing towards him.
Jie Jie naturally knew the power of this can-opener, so he pinched a thunderball and slapped it to the side.
The bird’s charge was stopped once again. The thunderball in his palm exploded on the Black Wolf Bird’s head, completely demolishing the half-face that had lost an eye.
Immunity and insulation only worked against low currents. Facing the Golden Thunder King who gathered thunderballs in his palm before bursting them,
The Black Wolf Bird’s body could merely claim to have higher lightning resistance, not enough to lose its ability to fight back with just one hit.
The body of the Black Wolf Bird that was slapped away drew an eerie arc, its spiky tail grazing past Jie Jie’s eyes.
Toxic!
Fortunately, the poison merely dripped onto his chest and didn’t seep in by being squeezed open.
But—
“Ugh~”
Jie Jie spat out a mouthful of venomous saliva, feeling the immune cells in his body fully activate to expel the toxins.
Never mind all that.
After wiping his lips, his claws scraped the ground, and his body leaped high into the air, spinning.
Smashing down on his back.
The heavy impact crushed the Black Wolf Bird mid-air, shattering its shell and oozing dark red blood.
Still alive?!
Jie Jie lifted his palm, intending to directly end the Black Wolf Bird’s life, but the cry for help from the Fire Dragon behind made him frown.
The Swift Dragon hadn’t left yet!
Without gathering strength, he planted a punch on the Black Wolf Bird, while the Golden Thunder King jumped again, descending like a fiery meteor.
The Swift Dragon, sensing trouble, had already retreated, leaving Jie Jie standing between it and the baby dragons.
Pouncing, the electrified palm heavily smashed into the Swift Dragon’s side wing.
The Swift Dragon staggered back, its raised tail trembling as spikes shot out like darts, bouncing off the shell and scales.
Only one managed to pierce the flesh, causing no pain at all.
Choosing to counterattack instead of retreating cost the Swift Dragon its life.
The second palm descended, the thunderball burst, destroying the nerves in the spine area of the Swift Dragon.
The Swift Dragon perished.
Jie Jie turned his head and looked back toward the direction of the Black Wolf Bird.
The one-eyed Black Wolf Bird didn’t chase after him but instead finished off the Swift Dragon whose tailbone had been broken.
While feeding, it stared at him with its one eye, its twisted limbs making it look like a demon.
“Gurgle.”
Jie Jie also tore a large piece of meat from the Swift Dragon, swallowing it viciously to replenish his stamina.
He moved his limbs forward, not giving the Black Wolf Bird any chance to regain more strength, charging straight at it.
The one-eyed Black Wolf Bird raised its bloody beak and flew toward him, pecking fiercely.
Upper cut!
This palm was pecked until it bled profusely, but it also struck its head upward.
Four golden pillars of lightning erupted, tearing apart the Black Wolf Bird’s body.
However, the pain in his arm when lifting it made Jie Jie bewildered. When?
His arm was also pecked with blood holes.
Meanwhile, the Black Wolf Bird was directly sent flying by his uppercut, its sharp tail scraping his cheek, filling the wound with purple poison.
His face lost sensation, even temporarily blinding one eye.
The Black Wolf Bird hovering in the air spat out another series of fireballs, igniting the fur on the Golden Thunder King, dimming even the thunderlight.
Jie Jie was blasted and rolled around on the ground to extinguish the flames on his body.
“Piu~”
That was the young Fire Dragons’ assistance; four fireballs swept through, only one hitting the Black Wolf Bird’s body, scattering the flame easily with wind pressure.
The Black Wolf Bird swung its poisonous tail toward Jie Jie again, dropping large amounts of venom onto the Golden Thunder King.
It seemed to be flying toward the baby dragons?
In a daze, he sensed the wind pressure sweep over his head. Jie Jie shook his head.
Enduring the dizziness and blurred vision caused by the poison, he turned around and leaped up.
Hugging the Black Wolf Bird in mid-air, he slammed it down with an earth throw.
The Black Wolf Bird almost instantly regained its footing but was soon crushed again by the falling Golden Thunder King.
Cobalt blue and gold lightning mixed, exploding on the Black Wolf Bird’s body.
Jie Jie flipped his body over the Black Wolf Bird beneath him.
Wasn’t this thing harder than him in his Hōng Lóng form? It still had the strength to struggle?
Angry thunder palms continuously hammered down on the Black Wolf Bird’s tail, not stopping even though his own flesh palms were pierced by the spines.
For some reason, Jie Jie always felt he lacked something compared to that Golden Thunder King.
Though they were the same size, he lacked the aura.
Upon reflection, that Thunder Wolf Dragon had been a Golden Thunder King for its entire life.
Whereas Jie Jie had been in his Golden Thunder King form for less than three twenty-four-hour periods.
He watched as the Black Wolf Bird’s poisonous tail broke, spraying toxic blood high into the air.
Using the force from losing its tail, the Black Wolf Bird rolled away.
Rolling into another patch of rumbling thunderlight.
The familiar limping old Thunder Wolf Dragon landed a claw, pinning down the one-eyed Black Wolf Bird, its gaze fixed intently on the Golden Thunder King.
Jie Jie froze, surprised not only by its arrival and changes in appearance but also by the complex emotions in its eyes.
Joy, confusion, and disappointment.
Another rash young Thunder Wolf Dragon emerged from behind it, similarly staring at the Golden Thunder King, sharing the same confusion.
Apparently, they had seen the Golden Thunder King—not the current transformed version of Jie Jie, but the original lifelong Golden Thunder King.
But the hierarchy of the Thunder Wolf Dragon caused the young one to leave the old one’s side, approaching Jie Jie to express submission.
And Jie Jie stared at the young Thunder Wolf Dragon, knowing it was very likely driven here after being chased away from the Thunder Wolf Forest.
It yearned for group activities, seeking a leader.
His gaze swept over it and returned to the old Thunder Wolf Dragon.
The mottled scars settled down, deepening the color of its shell and scales, giving him the impression of a seasoned veteran.
A battle-hardened individual.
The Black Wolf Bird had the potential to become a one-eyed Black Wolf Bird, and the old Thunder Wolf Dragon had transformed into a battle-hardened individual.
He wasn’t sure what happened, but it must have something to do with the song of the Heaven-Earth Brilliant Cry Dragon.
The Golden Thunder King turned around, growling softly behind him. He left the dead Swift Dragon to the Fire Dragons, then approached the old Thunder Wolf Dragon, blocking its line of sight.
The old Thunder Wolf spat out the Black Wolf Bird in its mouth and slammed down a palm.
Although there was no brilliant golden thunderball on its palm, numerous thunderlight bugs danced with every move it made.
The one-eyed Black Wolf Bird, already on its last breath, was utterly destroyed.
The old Thunder Wolf Dragon showed no signs of submission, remaining silent as it always did.
Jie Jie even suspected that if it weren’t for his poor condition, it would challenge him.
It passed by him, the golden and cobalt lightning intertwined, then reluctantly separated due to their masters parting ways.
The old Thunder Wolf bit into the Swift Dragon corpse that had been finished off by the Black Wolf Bird, dragging it along while glancing back, signaling the young Golden Thunder King to follow.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
