EP.832 Part 3 Chapter 2 Section 14 Target
Humans cannot be trusted.
The reason I organized the resistance against Gaiana was solely to fight Ji Ryun’s priest, not purely for the sake of these people here.
Around 6:4, no, more like 7:3.
“If only they hadn’t messed with the kids, we could’ve let it slide.”
Gaiana meddled with the children.
If they hadn’t tried to turn everyone into Sun Icheols or Kim Noris, I would’ve shrugged it off as just another Tera incident.
But that wasn’t the case.
I couldn’t forgive those who dared to do such despicable things to children.
However, would the parents here follow me as enthusiastically as those in Seoul’s Blue Wind Sect?
No.
In Seoul, there was the great evil Sun Icheol and an absolute command over monsters.
But this place is different.
I’m technically a spirit, and while I can distribute magical weapons like Core-weapons to these people, I can’t turn them into obedient monsters.
So there’s only one way.
“Create someone who can issue absolute commands.”
Someone exceptionally skilled who will follow my orders with their life – that’s my subordinate, ‘Target’.
“There you are.”
He was already waiting outside his territory to greet us.
Since I deliberately spread my magic power while coming, he sensed it and came out to meet me personally.
“Look at him worrying about his home getting damaged.”
“Is this a good thing?”
“It’s a stroke of luck. We’ll use his place as our base.”
Spirits are different from beasts.
They don’t produce harmful substances like animal secretions that affect human health.
On the contrary, the land can be fertile and abundant in food if managed properly by Target and Earth Dragon.
“Since he’s worried about losing his home, he must have decorated it nicely.”
“Are you going to take it away?”
“Not exactly.”
Just temporary cohabitation.
“Gray! Gather the children. We’ll need their help this time.”
“What? What kind of strategy are you planning…?”
“We need the children’s singing.”
While physical attacks work on spirits, mental attacks can be equally effective.
“So here’s what we’ll do…”
I taught my plan to the rebels.
The adults started whispering among themselves, while some of the children began humming nursery rhymes and started singing along.
“Simple songs, right?”
I deliberately chose easy nursery rhymes for the children.
Like most nursery rhymes, they’re simple enough for kids to pick up a line or two easily after hearing it once.
We just slightly changed the lyrics.
“Don’t worry. The children won’t be in danger. You guys will protect them with your Destruction Tanks anyway.”
“Well, yeah, but…”
“Let’s start now. One beat rest, two beats rest, three beats rest, go!”
Flap!
I spread my wings.
Then transformed my body into armor form and flew straight at Target.
Spirit, oh spirit.
I’ll give you an old home.
Come get a new one.
As the delighted children sang.
KYAAAAAAAA!!
[Don’t mess with asking for my home.]
Target got extremely agitated and opened his mouth wide.
His eyes were bloodshot, and I dodged his bite by spreading my wings and moving aside.
CRUNCH!
Even though he bit through empty air, it felt like a chunk of atmosphere was sliced off.
I evaded his attack, but Target quickly followed up with another.
[You’re offering me an old home?]
KYAAAAAAAA!!
He swung his sharp tail.
It reminded me of an armadillo – his skin ended in a tail covered with saw-like edges.
I spread my arms toward the tail.
KAGAGAK!!
A sound like grinding metal rang out.
I grabbed his tail with full strength using both arms.
[Most people try to throw me around with my tail.]
That’s the typical battle between a giant beast and a smaller opponent.
[But I’m different.]
When he tried to swing his tail to smash me against a wall, I pulled hard instead.
KAGAGAK.
Now he was scratching the ground with his claws.
As I flapped my wings to rise higher, he struggled desperately not to be lifted off the ground.
[I’ve handled things much heavier than you.]
I’ve even pushed away a star falling to Earth.
At first glance, it looks like brute strength, but actually my Blazing Phoenix flames are rapidly moving within his tail, wrapping around and pulling it.
KYAAAAAAAA!!
I finally lifted Target’s body.
I’ll give you an old home!
Come get a new one!
This caused cheers from the children singing happily.
My overwhelming power encouraged the kids, and some adults began quietly singing along too.
[Do you feel wronged? Having your home taken away suddenly?]
KYAAAAAAAA!!
Target roared in frustration.
I felt sorry for him, but fate is fate.
[Think positively.]
Anyway, it’s better to temporarily transfer your living space to me, who might return it later, rather than someone else.
[Consider it an honor to be reborn through me.]
It’s definitely better than being attacked by chaotic forces trying to occupy Tera and ending up falling to Earth’s China.
[Blazing Phoenix Revival.]
I swung him toward the wall while holding his tail.
BOOOOM!!
The entire massive cave shook as if an earthquake had hit.
The children’s singing momentarily stopped in surprise, and I quickly checked under Target’s body.
SWING SWING.
[A male.]
Maximum Blaze.
THUD!
I landed on his chest as he rolled on the ground, then knelt down toward where his magic power was most concentrated.
[Wouldn’t want to be cruel by extracting it directly.]
Blue flames gathered in my hand reaching toward his heart –
[Blazing Phoenix Revival.]
THUD!
I punched hard toward where his core should be.
Target writhed and screamed as I twisted my fist and released magic power.
[Blazing Phoenix Punch.]
WHOOSH.
No matter how strong a spirit is, they can’t withstand direct fire to the heart.
[Next life, be female.]
If she had been female, I would’ve made her a disciple of Blazing Phoenix.
Unfortunately.

At that moment.
The department responsible for national defense in the Kingdom of Gaiana, ‘Olympus,’ received shocking news from the Vishnia Kingdom front.
“The fortress was captured by rioters?”
“Yes. According to the messenger, it seems ‘those who must be cut off’ incited a rebellion.”
“Tch, how could this happen.”
The beautiful woman with blonde hair shook her head.
“Did they steal a Titan? How could the fortress fall? Drake isn’t someone weak.”
“Please look at this.”
The crystal orb in the center of the round table began to shimmer.
The image projected by the crystal showed a figure with black armor flapping blue wings.
“Fire?”
“Could it be someone from that side?”
“Hmm. Have you ever seen blue flames? Fire can’t possibly be blue.”
Fire is red.
There’s no such thing in this world as flames burning bright blue like that.
“Still, we should inquire. We might get some reaction by filing an official protest.”
“They’ll either outright deny it or try to hide the truth, but we should hear something.”
The woman sighed deeply.
“Eliminating the king’s monster and allying with those who must be cut off to start a rebellion. They’re unpredictable, but once they’ve rebelled, they’re our enemy.”
“As for reporting this to the…?”
“Don’t bother the High Priest with trivial matters. If we can’t handle something this small, how can we claim to manage national defense?”
The officials gathered around the round table nodded heavily at the woman’s stern words.
“Very well. Let’s see this.”
The woman scanned the officials before pulling up more images in the crystal orb.
“What’s that?”
“A Bug Tank?”
“Some materials sent by soldiers inside the fortress. Judging from the blue flames inside, we suspect it’s a weapon used by the rioters.”
“The object inside appears to be a Titan. It seems they’ve captured a Titan and added extra armor plating on top.”
“Lowered mobility significantly but greatly enhanced defense. Tch, troublesome.”
The officials began detailed discussions on how to deal with this new threat.
The woman, Minister of Defense, smiled satisfactorily while glancing nervously at the map.
“……”
Near the fortress.
There lives a spiritual father.
‘There shouldn’t be any problems, right?’
The Defense Minister gritted her teeth, glaring at the strange blue-flamed monster in the hologram.

“Target’s insides are melting nicely!”
“Spirits taste good when roasted, huh?”
“After extracting their magic power, they’re just ordinary creatures.”
“The parts making up its body are basically like plant roots or stems.”
“But the meat inside is surprisingly tender.”
“Good. I was worried it might taste bad and we’d have to burn it all.”
Target is perfectly cooked.
From inside out, it’s thoroughly juicy.
I wanted to crisp the outside, but worried the shell might get damaged and become unusable.
“Um, Master, is this really okay? It looks like an animal.”
Hari pointed at Target’s remains with a pale face.
“I don’t understand. That little sphere is Target, and this is a separate body?”
“Just a body formed by magic power. Spirits consume something, refine it into magic power, and turn it into their physical form.”
I gestured toward Target’s base.
“Eating the fruits and flowers here, he turned himself into delicious meat. What a nice guy.”
“You killed him though.”
“I didn’t kill him. We can revive him using this.”
I held up Target’s core, the Spirit Stone.
“If it had been female, I would’ve remade her into a female body and turned her into a spirit disciple, but since it’s male, I’ll have to make him a servant using another method.”
“What exactly are you planning by staring at that?”
Hari pointed at one of the larger Fiends I was looking at, slightly bigger than other Destruction Tanks.
“No, not that.”
I pointed at the Titan-Commander tank based on Drake’s design.
“Thought it might make a good engine.”
Target.
He became an S-Rank tank.
