084 Cornelia Almost Defeats Dekan
“Meow, meow, meow!”
“Little kitty!”
“……This is deadly!”
Dekan cradled his head, now convinced that the effect of this card was somewhat dangerous.
If used improperly, it could lead to total social disaster for everyone!
“It’s over, I can’t use this card carelessly anymore.”
“Fortunately, my willpower is strong.”
“Otherwise, if I lose control too, the situation could spiral out of hand.”
Teacher Cat was bouncing around Dekan, while Cornelia was getting closer with each of her attempts to catch him.
He felt like he couldn’t escape. A feint distracted Cornelia as he slipped into Dekan’s shadow.
Even though Cornelia tried to brake, she ultimately couldn’t stop in time.
In Dekan’s terrified gaze, she knocked him down to the ground.
“Ah, that hurts!”
Dekan felt dizzy and the world was spinning.
He never expected the first time he was tackled by a girl would be such a near-death experience.
Fortunately, Cornelia had a controlling power; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been conscious now.
“Meow!”
Teacher Cat realized it had caused trouble and hid in Dekan’s shadow pretending to be dead, afraid to show itself.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Cornelia finally regained her composure.
She quickly pushed herself up from Dekan, unsure of what to do, her face filled with panic as she looked at Dekan, who was frowning with his eyes closed.
“Ugh…”
Dekan groaned in pain, slowly opening his eyes.
What greeted him was Cornelia’s delicately beautiful face so close to his, along with her red hair cascading onto his face.
It made his skin itch.
His awareness gradually returned.
The soft sensation on his body became clearer, and the fragrance wafting towards him was unavoidable.
Cornelia’s breathing and heartbeat, Dekan had never heard them so distinctly before.
It felt more like he was sensing them rather than hearing.
……
As everyone in the observation hall was intensely discussing, silence suddenly fell.
They all stared at the screen.
After a moment of stillness.
A series of cheers erupted, almost like a pot boiling over.
Rather than discussing Dekan’s witch identity or his new card, everyone was thrilled to see Cornelia tackle Dekan!
“Wow! Someone actually took down Dekan!”
“It’s Cornelia; she truly overcomes him!”
“Go kiss him!”
“Does anyone remember the final boss of the Shadow World, Count Augustine…”
Amidst the noise.
Claire looked at Chloix.
Thinking about how he would also end up in that kind of spectacle with these two in the Shadow World made her feel rather… complex.
“Are those two usually like this?”
After a long silence, Claire asked.
Though she knew Dekan and Cornelia would create spectacle effects in the Shadow World.
She was genuinely curious about their daily lives.
Chloix scratched his head.
“They’re usually…”
He wanted to say “pretty normal,” but recalling that one night when the three of them attacked and kidnapped Aurora effortlessly, he lost his confidence to continue.
……
“Dekan, are you okay?”
Cornelia gently cradled Dekan’s face, gazing into his eyes with concern as they met.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Dekan was initially worried he might be affected by the “Three Corpse Frenzy,” but fortunately, getting knocked down by her snapped him back to reality.
Cornelia immediately sighed in relief, her nervous heart finally settling.
Dekan: “Okay, get up now…”
However, just as he thought she was going to stand, Cornelia suddenly hugged Dekan.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
Cornelia’s soft voice was filled with guilt and regret.
“……”
Dekan hesitated for a moment.
He gently patted Cornelia’s back.
Dekan: “I know, you would never hurt me. This was my fault; I’ll be careful with this card in the future, don’t worry.”
Cornelia: “Mm.”
“Wow, meow! Dekan, you actually apologized! Don’t you owe me an apology too? I’m a victim too, meow!”
Teacher Cat suddenly sprang out from Dekan’s shadow.
Hearing Teacher Cat’s voice, he immediately got fired up.
He quickly urged Cornelia to get off him, grabbing Teacher Cat by the scruff and staring at it.
“Teacher Cat, if I’m not mistaken, you led Cornelia towards me while awake, didn’t you? You thought using me as an obstacle was safe, right?”
“Meow, meow, meow! I didn’t know! Cornelia, save me, meow!”
Teacher Cat felt Dekan seemed scarier than Cornelia right now and had to ask her for help.
Cornelia quickly said:
“Dekan, how about you let Teacher Cat go?”
Hearing her words, Dekan was silent for a moment.
“Sigh, fine, my bad.”
Dekan sighed helplessly and tossed Teacher Cat into Cornelia’s hands.
Cornelia caught Teacher Cat steadily.
Once safe, Teacher Cat stared at Dekan in a daze.
“……Has this kid always been so easy to talk to?”
……
Teacher Cat seemed to want to repay Cornelia for saving its life and stayed in her arms without jumping down.
Though at first it was forcing itself, trembling in her embrace.
It gradually realized that Cornelia wasn’t that scary after all.
After all, even Dekan didn’t get hurt from her crash.
Thinking carefully, Cornelia was much better than Dekan.
The wall between them seemed to gradually break down.
The three of them leisurely walked into the living room.
There, they found Vampire Count Augustine writhing on the ground in agony.
“You all, it’s you who brought me this suffering!”
Upon seeing Dekan and Cornelia walking in leisurely, he instantly understood they were the culprits behind his bizarre predicament!
Originally, after being revived, he should be in control of everything, instilling fear and despair in the survivors of the mansion, compensating for the years of suffering with a bloody party.
However, as soon as he emerged, for some unknown reason, his thirst for blood had driven him nearly to the brink of losing himself!
Seeing a corpse before him, still filled with blood, he instinctively pounced.
By the time he came to his senses, the intense pain had made his existence worse than death.
Even with his rank six powers, his body couldn’t function normally.
“You are the worst boss I’ve ever seen, even Olive is more impressive than you.”
Dekan shook his head and sighed, looking down at Count Augustine with a look of disappointment.
This only fueled Count Augustine’s rage further.
He felt nothing but contempt from this weak human!
