Chapter 84: Scallop Pasta

Chapter 84: Scallop Pasta

“If I haven’t returned by then, do whatever you want. It’s your freedom.”

Aierjisi wasn’t insisting on Weirafiya confronting the Adrian People directly. If she chose to run away, that was her decision too.

But at that moment, Yake made her a little uneasy. Right now, she and Yake were sharing their life through a contract. If she didn’t return and ended up as some so-called sacrifice, Yake would likely die with her.

That outcome was something she must avoid at all costs. For that, she had a backup plan ready. By severing the contract, she could give her life completely to Yake, allowing him to live on as an individual once again. That was the last thing she could do for him.

Of course, the consequence of this act meant she would lose her life. But it didn’t really matter; if she were to be sacrificed to their god, she wouldn’t survive anyway. Either way, it was death; she might as well save Yake before going down.

“Alright, so our battle plan is set, and nobody has any objections, right?”

Gaia looked at them again, waiting for their replies.

“None at all. Let’s go with that.”

Even Weirafiya, who was the only one with issues, didn’t have any more questions. Everyone had agreed to the plan.

“Good. Since you all have no objections, we’ll go ahead with this.”

“Gaia, I’m sorry, but we’re short on kitchen supplies and can only make two servings of scallop pasta. How does that sound? If it’s not enough, I can send someone to fetch more ingredients.”

As soon as Gaia finished speaking, Mios returned with two steaming plates of pasta.

“Oh, it’s fine. Having scallop pasta is already enough. If there are no issues, you might as well head back to rest.”

Gaia looked at them. If there’s nothing to do, they should rest up. An intense battle awaited them tomorrow; they needed their sleep.

“I have a question!”

Weirafiya raised her little hand again, signaling she had something to ask.

“Miss Weirafiya, what is it this time? Didn’t you just say you had no questions?”

Gaia stared at the little phoenix, puzzled as to why she had questions again.

“Is there more pasta? I’m still not full.”

Weirafiya covered her little belly, sporting an awkward yet polite smile.

“No way. You ate so much food earlier, and you’re still not full?”

Aierjisi looked at Weirafiya. Earlier, during the food scramble, Weirafiya had gobbled down everything; Aierjisi couldn’t even compete. How could she still be hungry now? Was she a phoenix or a pig?

“That can’t be helped! I’m the Phoenix of Flames, so my appetite is naturally much larger than a human’s. Do you expect my appetite to be like yours?”

Weirafiya scoffed at Aierjisi, doubting that this blood clan’s eating capacity was comparable to a human’s. Hadn’t she eaten quite a lot earlier as well? How could she even complain?

“My appetite… is just a little more than a human’s. In any case, it’s not like I can eat as much as you and still be hungry.”

After considering her own appetite, Aierjisi realized she wasn’t such a big eater after all. She could eat a bit more than an adult, but it was still pretty normal.

“Aier, your appetite is already considerable, rivaling five of mine.”

At that moment, Yake reminded the Little Princess that her appetite was indeed not small. His own adult portion was merely one-fifth of hers. She could seriously put them away, and he had seen it all.

“Stop it! I needed to eat a bit more to convert it into magic power and store it in my body, okay? You’ve never seen me eat that much food regularly, have you?”

Aierjisi shot a displeased glance at Yake. Her appetite occasionally spiked, leading her to eat a lot, but usually, she ate normally.

“I told you, your appetite as a blood clan member can’t possibly be like a human’s! You’re just as much a big eater as I am!”

Weirafiya couldn’t resist teasing Aierjisi now. They were both big eaters, so no one could point fingers.

“I only do it occasionally! I don’t stuff myself every meal like you do!”

“I don’t stuff myself at every meal either! If you don’t believe me, ask Yaser. Yaser, don’t I eat like this every meal?”

“Miss, regarding such matters, I would rather you keep your own counsel and not involve me.”

Yaser felt stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. If he told the truth, he might end up roasted by Weirafiya’s flames; if he lied, his conscience would be pricked. So he decided to be diplomatic and leave the issue in her hands.

“See? I don’t eat this much every time.”

“Alright, alright, you two, stop arguing. If you both feel you aren’t full, there should still be scallop pasta left, right? Mios?”

Gaia really couldn’t stand their squabbling over food. Why argue over not being full? It wasn’t like she couldn’t afford to feed them scallop pasta!

“Of course! The kitchen can make more at any time.”

“Great! Let’s have the kitchen prepare a few more servings of scallop pasta. If you’re still hungry, you can stay and eat, and if you’re full, you can leave to rest. Sound good to you all?”

Gaia looked at them one last time, hoping they wouldn’t have any issues now.

“I have a question.”

“I have a question too.”

This time, it was Yake and Yaser who raised their hands, obviously having their own problems.

“What is it now, you two?”

“I’m full, but I don’t want to leave. I want to stay here with Aier.”

“Same here! I’m full, but I also want to stay here with the Little Princess.”

Their concerns were surprisingly in sync. They had eaten enough, but didn’t want to go, wishing to stay by their wives until the very end.

“Okay, since you both say that, stay here! Mios, could you inform the kitchen to prepare a few more servings of scallop pasta? I’m hungry, so I’m going to start eating now.”

“Sure thing! You start eating; I’ll notify them and be right back.”

Gaia took out her knife and fork to enjoy her dish as Mios dashed to the kitchen to let them know to whip up some extra scallop pasta.
