I thought that meeting a few quirky characters was part of the deal, but this was beyond my wildest dreams!

“Come on, Aida! You’ll look fabulous! At least it’s not a potato sack!”
Aida, my younger sister, was having a meltdown over what looked like a multicolored marshmallow costume, while our father, Count Bradley Somerset, tried to convince her otherwise.
I stared at the brightly colored fabric draped across the table, thinking that dressing up as a rainbow might not be the best choice for a noble household.
On the chair sat a hat so tall, I half-expected it would topple over and take someone with it!
“Who needs a crown when you can have this!” I declared, waving the hat dramatically.
Surely, this wasn’t what dignified nobles wore… or was it?
Determined to lighten the mood, I tried to put on the sparkly hat, but just as I did—
Poof!
