Chapter 89: Beware of Deception
“Yake, look at how beautiful the moonlight is!”
While getting up to drink water, Aierjisi gazed out at the moonlight. Tonight’s moon was exceptionally lovely.
“Yeah, it really is beautiful. Looks like our battle plan will go smoothly tomorrow.”
Seeing such a beautiful moonlight tonight must be a blessing for their plan’s success tomorrow, right?
“So, Yake, since the moonlight is so beautiful, aren’t you going to do something tonight? I remember back at the Hot Spring Inn, you were peeping at me! You must be quite interested in me, huh? So, how about we have some fun tonight?”
Aierjisi joked with Yake. After all, given his previous actions, it seemed he was quite interested in her body, right? So she thought she’d tease him a bit and see if she could ignite his desires.
“Forget it. It’s too early for that. Let’s handle those Ultimate Life Forms first and worry about it later once we’re safe.”
They were still being chased by those Ultimate Life Forms; if they got too busy with… personal activities, they might end up exhausted and caught! What a disaster!
“Eh? But what if we can’t get it resolved?”
“Don’t talk like that! We will definitely find a way.”
Aierjisi had already started thinking of the worst-case scenario even before the fight began. How could she doom their spirits like that?
“Fair enough. Well then… let’s do something enjoyable after dealing with those pesky Ultimate Life Forms.”
Aierjisi smiled as she said those terrifying words.
“By that time, I might not be able to handle it at all.”
He remembered Aierjisi once telling him that the Blood Clan had a very low birth rate. If Aierjisi wanted to do something serious with him, he was afraid his kidneys might just get wrecked!
“Don’t worry! When the time comes, I’ll give you some medicine to help you be more… sturdy! But as for side effects, I can’t guarantee anything. Worst-case scenario, you might lose feeling in your lower half, who knows?”
“Please don’t say such terrifying things with a smile!”
Yake felt an unprecedented fear as he listened to Aierjisi’s cheerful threats.
“Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. You should get some sleep. I’m going to enjoy a bit more moonlight bath. We have a battle to prepare for tomorrow; I need to gather as much magic power as I can.”
“Okay. I’ll sleep first; don’t stay up too late. It’ll be bad if you get sleepy during the battle tomorrow.”
“Relax! Don’t forget, I have a spell for boosting my spirits. A quick 10-minute recharge and I’m good for the whole day.”
“I know you have that spell. But rather than relying on magic, I think it’s better to let your body rest well. Alright, I’ll stop talking now; good night.”
“Good night.”
Yake turned over and went to sleep. Aierjisi took off all her clothes, sat by the window, and let the moonlight fill her with magic power.
Meanwhile, Weirafiya and Yaser were getting rowdy in their room.
“Wow, this wine tastes really good! Yaser, want to join me for a drink?”
Weirafiya savored the wine in her glass—definitely a fine collection from the Royal Palace. It tasted so much better than the tavern wines outside!
“This is wine from Natalia! I’ve heard from my dad that their wine is incredibly delicious. I can’t believe I get to taste it here. I’ll have a glass too.”
Yaser couldn’t believe the wine came from Natalia, the world-renowned wine region. When you mentioned wine, you thought of Natalia. It was undeniable!
“Here! Let’s drink till we drop! Woohoo!”
“Miss, you really shouldn’t drink too much. We’ll be on the battlefield tomorrow—what if you can’t get up? Didn’t you get a hefty amount of compensation from the Little Princess?”
Yaser reminded her not to forget the importance of the next day. If she took someone’s money, she had to do her job properly!
“I know, I know. We’re just going to beat up Diablo tomorrow, right? Do you think I’d have trouble with him? Come on! You know my power! With just three moves, I can make him kneel and call me daddy!”
Weirafiya clearly had her head up in the clouds, thinking Diablo was nothing without ever facing him. Not to mention, the current Diablo was even stronger!
“Miss, I’m quite aware of your strength. But I think it’s still wise to be cautious on the battlefield. Things can change at any moment; we should prepare ourselves as best as we can.”
“Alright, I get it! But seriously, why are you acting like this before we even start fighting? You really kill the vibe! Don’t say things like that again, got it?”
“Okay, okay, I heard you. But I must correct you, I’m not trying to kill the mood; I’m just trying to be fully prepared for whatever happens on the battlefield.”
“Fine, fine! You do your preparing while I indulge in this delicious wine. Ah, drinking wine is such a pleasure!”
Weirafiya poured more wine into her glass and indulged. This delicious wine was truly irresistible.
“Ugh.”
Yaser could only sigh long and then quietly go about his preparations. He took out a map, contemplating all the various scenarios that could play out tomorrow and how to respond to each one.
“Diablo. The showdown is tomorrow; are you ready?”
Gilbaris went to Diablo’s room to check on him. If he wasn’t prepared, Gilbaris would take his place in the fight.
“I feel great! My strength is flowing within me!”
Diablo tried swinging his fists; he could feel more power and speed than ever before.
“Is that so? Seems like everything’s in order. But Diablo, there’s one thing I need to remind you. No matter who the opponent is, don’t let your guard down. Aierjisi won’t just accept your challenge. She’ll definitely pull a trick or two.”
“So what? I’m not afraid. I’ll show her that in the face of my absolute power, no matter what schemes she has, it’s all pointless.”
