Chapter 89: Life is More Important
“I remember there should be a similar item with that function.”
Yin reflected on the collection the City Lord had shown her earlier. There must be a similar item.
“Then please ask the City Lord if we can use that item. We are really in a hurry.”
Aierjisi immediately became excited. If they had a teleportation item, reaching Panimir would only take an instant. They wouldn’t waste too much time on the road anymore.
“Don’t worry, I’ll ask for you. But for now, you should both rest well. The City Lord has also hurt his back. He should be able to give you that item by tomorrow morning.”
Yin understood Aierjisi’s excitement, patting her head to help her calm down and sleep, reminding her that come morning, everything would be ready.
“Okay, then thank you, Miss Yin.”
“What’s so troublesome about it? You helped us out, so it’s only natural to return the favor with that item. You two get some good rest. I’ll take my leave now.”
After bowing to them, Yin left the room and returned to the City Lord’s side.
“Phew. This is really an unexpected gain; I can’t believe there really is an item for long-distance teleportation. That way, we can save a lot of time going straight to Panimir.”
Learning that such a teleportation item existed made Aierjisi quite happy. With something so convenient, she could go wherever she wanted!
“However, I’ve heard that teleportation items are usually very expensive. The City Lord might not willingly give us his precious collection, right?”
Yake still had some concerns. Teleportation items are typically costly, and some are even considered rare treasures. Would the City Lord really be willing to give it to them?
“How would we know if we don’t try? Besides, even if he doesn’t give it to us, we can always follow the route on the map to rush to Panimir ourselves. It won’t take that long.”
Aierjisi dismissed Yake’s worries. The City Lord had been quite caring toward her, being a fellow Earthling, so she was sure he would be willing to give it to her if it was just a teleportation item. Even if he didn’t, she could always take her time walking to Panimir with Yake.
“You have no idea how far Panimir is from here.”
Seeing the Little Princess speaking so casually about it, Yake shook his head helplessly. Isn’t this just the classic case of a naive rookie not fearing the tiger?
“What’s wrong? Is it really that far away?”
Curiously, Aierjisi asked, not having looked at the map in detail, but it didn’t seem that far from her perspective.
“Take a look for yourself. This is our current location, and this is Panimir.”
Yake spread the map on the table, pointing with his left hand to the city they were in, and with his right hand to a kingdom far to the north.
“Oh my god?! Is it really that far? This can’t be real!”
Seeing the distance from her to Panimir, Aierjisi quickly lost her cool.
“So I told you, you were being way too casual about this. If we don’t rely on the teleportation item, it’ll take us at least half a year on foot to reach there.”
“What if we take a carriage? This world should have means of transport, right?”
Since walking took so long, they could just take other means of transport instead.
“Transport? Even with that, it would still take about four months to get there.”
Yake estimated the travel time using transport and shook his head again.
“Oh my goodness… are you kidding me? It’s that far away? And that Ailin, why did she run off to that place? Couldn’t she go somewhere closer? Ugh.”
Hearing that even with transport, it would take four months to get there, Aierjisi was completely despondent. At this rate, by the time she arrived, Ailin might already be gone.
“Alright. Aier, don’t despair so easily. There’s still a chance, right? The City Lord hasn’t decided whether to give us that item yet. If he’s willing, we can get there in an instant.”
Seeing the Little Princess hopelessly lying on the bed with a deadpan expression, Yake walked over and gave her a light smack on the rear. Why give up so quickly when the result hasn’t even come in yet?
“You’re right, but I’m just so anxious! What if that City Lord doesn’t want to give that item to us? What are we supposed to do then?”
Even though she understood, Aierjisi couldn’t help but feel panic about the worst-case scenario.
“Don’t panic. Panicking won’t help. For now, let’s follow Miss Yin’s advice and get some good sleep. We’ll see after sunrise.”
Yake took off his suit and tossed it aside. He had been wanting to get out of this uncomfortable suit all evening, but he’d been enduring it through the party, and now he could finally breathe.
“Ah, nothing beats wearing this tank top!”
Feeling completely revived in his familiar tank top, Yake thought, “Now this is me.”
“I’m going to the bathroom to change. Yake, you better not peek! If I catch you, you remember last time’s consequence, right?”
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t worry, even if I die, I won’t peek from here!”
“The last person who said that is now over there eating fried rice!”
Hearing Yake’s vow, Aierjisi was initially unhappy. It was obvious he was trying to peek at her changing clothes!
“Fine, I’ll change without peeking. I swear that even if I die, I won’t peek outside.”
“What the heck are you changing into?!”
Aierjisi had no idea how to respond to Yake’s comeback. This guy just knew how to rile her up, he was truly a rare talent in that regard.
“Whatever. I won’t bother arguing with you anymore. Just don’t peek. If I find out, you’ll have to face the consequences. That’s it.”
After that, Aierjisi walked into the bathroom to take off her dress.
Though Yake thought about trying to sneak a peek, he ultimately dismissed the idea. After all, living was far more important!
