Chapter 9: Consulting Familial Group Matters

Adventurer Street.

As the name suggests, this place is the domain of adventurers.

It encompasses a range of industries primarily catering to adventurers, including apothecaries, general stores, equipment shops, healing clinics, taverns, and more. Every day, countless adventurers gather here.

And beside the street stands the Guild Headquarters, a Pantheon constructed with white pillars, describable only with the words “majestic.”

Its surface is adorned with intricate bas-reliefs, and it boasts a spacious reception area with monuments. At this moment, one can see many adventurers coming and going.

Now that noon has just passed, one can see quite a few adventurers who have finished their morning explorations, smiling as they discuss with their companions where to enjoy a good lunch next.

Pausing briefly before this solemn temple, Izay retracted his gaze and entered the expansive hall of the Guild Headquarters together with Artemis and Letsha Lanti.

The first thing that caught their eyes was a very prominent reception area, not far from which stood a massive request board.

However, there weren’t many adventurers at the reception area at this time. Those adventurers were instead queuing up in front of the Magic Stone Exchange Window, forming a tight crowd.

The Magic Stone Exchange Window is the primary source of income for adventurers.

Here, adventurers exchange all the spoils they’ve gathered from the dungeon into Valis for consumption.

Not only at the Guild Headquarters but also within the Babel Tower, situated directly above the dungeon, there exists a Magic Stone Exchange Window.

Most of the adventurers crowding here prefer not to endure the heat inside the Babel Tower, so they’ve come to the Guild instead.

But it seems that many adventurers share this sentiment, which is why the reception area appears relatively quiet.

After all, the reception area is meant for inquiries and accepting adventure requests; it cannot help with exchanging coins~

After entering the Guild Hall, the four did not stay together but split up, as each had different objectives.

The Goddess went to meet the main deity and founder of the Guild—Uranus. Izay heard from Letsha that this was something that always happened, supposedly an exchange of intelligence. The specifics, however, remain unknown.

At this time, the task of submitting completed requests for Artemis’ Familial Group fell to Letsha.

The reliable leader skillfully sought out professionals to submit the requests.

And Izay, in order to obtain information about familial groups, came to the reception area, with Lanti trailing behind him for reasons unknown.

The development of Familial Groups in Orario doesn’t necessarily have to be entirely managed by the main deity of the group.

For matters like recruitment, many deities will communicate directly with the Guild and its staff, asking them to post notices on their behalf.

Such as “A certain Familial Group has been established and is seeking new members” or “A certain Familial Group is lacking supporters and logistics personnel, thus recruiting.”

Generally speaking, the former refers to newly established beginner Familial Groups or relatively weaker ones.

The latter, however, pertains to powerful Familial Groups looking for recruits.

One can infer much from the type of personnel needed.

Since there’s no longer a need to increase combat personnel as the main force, attention shifts to other areas.

“Hello, may I assist you with anything?”

It’s worth noting that almost all the staff at the Guild Reception are young ladies, including humans, beastfolk, and elves among the demi-human races.

This fact is rather thought-provoking.

One could say the Guild truly knows how to empty adventurers’ wallets.

The Half-Elf lady politely questioning Izay was wearing round glasses, shoulder-length brown hair, a dignified appearance, and a familiar uniform…

Though it was their first meeting, Izay inexplicably felt some familiarity with this young lady.

There was only one Half-Elf employee at the Guild that he could think of.

However, out of politeness, Izay did not show any reaction but nodded in response to her inquiry.

“Hmm, Miss Staff, I am here to consult about Familial Group matters.”

“Familial Group… matters?”

Upon hearing this reply, the Half-Elf lady couldn’t help but pause, glancing involuntarily toward the girl behind Izay.

Her gaze seemed to ask, “Are you serious?”

To be honest, their current attire was quite deceptive.

Lanti, carrying weapons and dressed in adventurer light gear, and Izay, backpacked but unarmed, looked like they were in a support-adventurer relationship.

From the start, she assumed these two belonged to the same Familial Group and were here to handle adventure requests.

Looking now… it seems not?

Noticing her subtle expression, Izay glanced at Lanti behind him, understanding the reason. He shook his head and explained to her.

“The relationship between me and this girl isn’t what you think. For various reasons, I don’t yet belong to a Familial Group, so I’m here to consult with the Guild.”

Primarily, Izay wanted to use the Guild as a line, akin to submitting resumes before joining a company in his previous life, to smoothly connect with the Familial Group he desired.

If he rashly approached them without preparation, there’s a chance he might get thrown out if his luck’s bad.

After all, the early stages are the hardest part of development, with many considerations.

And this is a realistic world; it’s better to have plans when doing things.

In response to what Izay said, Lanti nodded with apparent regret on her face.

“That’s right. Our Familial Group has rules against admitting men. Otherwise, Izay would definitely be our esteemed god’s person.”

At first glance, this statement seemed fine, but after spending so many days together, Izay felt this girl implied something else.

She seemed to be hinting at something…

“I see, special circumstances, huh? Then please wait a moment. I remember many Familial Groups posting long-term recruitment announcements in the Guild. I’ll check for you.”

The Half-Elf lady showed understanding, greeted the two, and began searching through the pile of papers stacked behind her like a small mountain.

After several minutes, the Half-Elf lady returned holding about ten documents.

“Let’s see, how about the Cadiante Familial Group?”

The Cadiante Familial Group, renowned in Orario for healing, healers are coveted everywhere.

However, Izay shook his head. “Hmm, I’m more inclined towards exploration-type Familial Groups.”

“I understand…”

Hearing this, the Half-Elf lady pulled out several documents and set them aside.

Exploration-type Familial Groups refer to those developed mainly for conquering dungeons—in simpler terms, the combat faction.

Those removed documents were from Familial Groups that didn’t fit this criterion.

“How about the Soma Familial Group? Their strength is decent, and for some reason, they seem extremely passionate about dungeon conquests. It might align with your ideas.”

“……”

Izay met the clear gaze of the Half-Elf lady and fell silent unexpectedly.

Come to think of it, based on Lanti’s age now, the period he’s currently in should be around two years before the start of the main storyline. Around this time, the Guild probably doesn’t know about the issues within the Soma Familial Group yet…

Can that really be called a passion for dungeon conquest?

They’re obsessed with drugs! Unable to extricate themselves, joining that Familial Group would be like jumping into a fire pit!

“Cough cough, are there any others? I’m not particularly interested in the deity of brewing.”
