Chapter 92: You Give Ruda-yo

Chapter 92: You Give Ruda-yo

“Whew. This place is freezing to death.”

In a flat area not far from the Royal Palace, Aierjisi hugged herself, shivering. Even in her winter gear, she couldn’t last long in this heavy snowstorm.

“It’s fine. You’re just the bait. No one’s asking you to fight that Diablo. You just need to lure him over here.”

The voice of Weirafiya came through the mini communicator in her ear. Unlike Aierjisi, who was freezing over there, Weirafiya was warm due to her domain’s influence.

“You make it sound so easy. Speaking of which, you could also play the bait role, right? Why don’t you just come here?”

“Huh? Why should I go there? Don’t forget, I am supposed to fight that Diablo soon. Can’t let my energy go to waste!”

“Don’t worry, you’re a Phoenix; you can fly.”

“Regardless, I’m not going. You’re on your own!”

“Hey, I’ll throw in an additional 200 gold coins as a bonus. What do you say?”

“What? 200 gold coins? I’m on my way!”

As soon as she heard about the extra gold, Weirafiya changed her mind right away.

“Alright, my lady. Don’t let the money blind your eyes. Let’s stick to the battle plan we set before. We really need your domain to support us.”

Arthur looked around; besides him and Yake, there were many soldiers within Weirafiya’s domain who all benefitted from its effects.

“Ugh. Fine, fine. Sorry, but you’re stuck freezing over there alone. I can’t break away right now.”

Weirafiya reluctantly had to forgo the 200 gold coins and wait for the plan to unfold.

“Ugh. What the heck is that Diablo doing? If it were any other day, he would have arrived by now; why the delay? He’s not really trying to make me freeze here, is he?”

Thinking back to when Musashi fought Kojiro, Musashi had purposely arrived late to make Kojiro roast in the sun for an hour. Now she found herself freezing in the snow waiting for Diablo. This Diablo was truly despicable.

“Huh?”

Just as Aierjisi was pondering this, a Teleportation Gate suddenly appeared before her. Diablo slowly emerged from it.

“Sorry to keep you waiting. Aierjisi. Since you’re here waiting for me today, it means you’re ready for our duel, yes?”

“You are… Diablo? Did you dye your skin or something?”

Since Diablo was turned away last time and it was night, Aierjisi hadn’t seen his form well. However, now she could clearly see that compared to their last battle, Diablo’s muscles were even more imposing, and his body was a little red, as if burnt.

“Don’t mind that. I pushed past my limits to gain stronger power for our duel.”

“Well, if you weren’t my enemy, I might’ve become your fan.”

Aierjisi was surprised by how straightforward an enemy he was; instead of using dirty tricks, he chose to strengthen himself and meet her head-on. Meanwhile, she had to lure him into a trap. Her conscience felt a bit heavy about it.

“What’s this? Want to join the Adrian People’s family? If you weren’t a sacrificial offering, I would totally accept your application. Too bad you’re one of the important sacrifices to awaken our God.”

Diablo lamented the loss, thinking how great it would be if a powerful girl like Aierjisi joined them; Gilbaris would definitely welcome her with open arms. But reality can be so cruel sometimes.

“Forget it. I have no intention of joining any cult or becoming a sacrificial offering for your so-called deity.”

“Well, that’s not for you to decide.”

Diablo assumed a battle stance. His body exuded fighting energy, making it hard for Aierjisi to breathe.

“I won’t just surrender without a fight.”

Aierjisi pulled out her Light Whip to face Diablo.

“Then, take this punch! Huh?”

Just as Diablo swung his fist, Aierjisi tucked away her Light Whip and turned to run.

What’s going on? Why is she suddenly running away?

“What the hell?! What’s this? Didn’t we agree to hold our holy duel here today? Why are you running off all of a sudden?!”

Running away in the middle of a duel was a huge disrespect to the opponent. Aierjisi’s action was, without a doubt, sullying the sanctity of their duel, which angered Diablo.

“Sorry, but I’m not a gladiator or anything. Facing an enemy I clearly can’t beat? That’s not bravery, that’s pure foolishness!”

As she said this, Aierjisi reinforced her legs and sped up her escape.

The famous writer Zhou Shuren once said: “Of the 36 stratagems, running away is the best!” This saying still holds true today.

“You! Even if you run to the ends of the earth, you won’t escape my grasp!”

Diablo angrily chased after her. He could not let Aierjisi, the one who tarnished their holy duel, go! He had to capture her today.

“Did he leave? Good. Mios, it’s time for us to move.”

Gaia watched as Diablo followed the plan and chased Aierjisi toward their pre-set location. He led Mios and several elite members out to the spot where the Teleportation Gate had been, activating the device to force it open again.

“Alright, the plan is going smoothly. Let’s leave three people here to keep watch. The rest of you, join me in rescuing Ailin.”

“Whoa!”

Under Gaia’s lead, they entered the enemy’s Base Camp.

Meanwhile, Aierjisi was still playing temple runaway from Diablo.

“Ugh, how come you run so fast?”

Aierjisi was shocked. Despite Diablo’s seemingly clumsy physique, he was actually faster than her. In no time, the distance between them shrank to almost nothing.

“Well, of course! I’ve been training my body all this time. My leg muscles are well-conditioned. You can rest assured, you won’t escape my grasp. Duel with me like a Roman gladiator and be defeated!”

“Sorry, but I’ll have to decline this duel game invitation.”
