Chapter 93

Chapter 93: A Feast for the Eyes.

The investigators still required quite some time to count supplies and establish a base, so Jié Jié wasn’t worried about leaving things too late.

Jié Jié traveled through the storm and rain curtain, thinking about the investigation team while detecting the residual aura of ancient dragons amidst the wind’s rise.

Because he was directly knocked off the mountain by the investigation team, he couldn’t witness what happened afterward.

He also received no feedback on the results of his all-out attack.

But at the moment, the disappearance of two ancient dragons didn’t stop the storm or the rain. Their actions seemed like just the preliminary work of a natural disaster, indirectly suggesting that the consequences they could trigger were beyond his full control.

Thinking this way, courage in Jié Jié’s heart grew even more, surpassing fear.

This was also related to his ability to fly in such severe weather; the spiny dragon’s body was very heavy, making it suitable for long-term ground action among flying dragons, but its wings hadn’t degenerated to the point where it couldn’t fly. Instead, because of its weight, they were extremely powerful.

This allowed the spiny dragon to remain steady in the air as if it were on the ground.

There was no trace to be found in the sky, so Jié Jié looked toward the seabed.

It seemed like only Abyssal Wave Dragon’s victory remained as an outcome. She most likely hadn’t left yet.

Should he go take a look?

Just one peek.

The spiny dragon dove into the sea, the splash of water insignificant compared to the waves stirred up by the storm.

The ocean depths were still dark, with chaotic currents from the storm creating total obscurity down to twenty meters underwater.

But deeper below, there shone colorful lights, resembling a dreamlike scene.

The beautiful sight directly stunned Jié Jié, who was accompanied by lamp fish dragons.

With his lamp sphere in hand, he cautiously joined the deep-sea disco.

Navigating through crowded tides and vortices, crouching among corals mimicking the seabed, he spotted large waves swaying with the currents through coral gaps.

The Master of Tides, Abyssal Wave Dragon.

Her eyes were closed, her overall wing membranes with tentacles dancing gracefully with the water flow.

Freely drifting with the current, freely swaying her body, her beauty and cuteness surpassed her majesty.

“Yaya yaya yaa~”

Child-like singing occasionally floated out of her mouth, erasing any sense of authority.

Surrounding fish weren’t driven away by the mighty dragon but instead swayed and danced to her rhythm.

However, upon closer observation, one could see that everything wasn’t merely following the current. All the ocean currents revolved around her.

The victorious dragon adorned with glittering jewels attracted every visitor’s gaze, inviting the entire seabed to dance with her.

But Jié Jié still noticed the dark statue in the corner of the seabed.

Dead but still majestic, the statue was discarded in the corner, ignored by all.

Its entire body resembled old copper, with only the joints of limbs showing signs of rust and fragmentation, revealing the dull silver beneath.

Silver and copper intermixed unevenly, looking old and ugly, but even in death, the body remained unmoved at the bottom of the sea, unaffected by water movements.

This was the deceased steel dragon, the deceased wind-soaring dragon.

Still majestic, like a true statue.

Though rusted, it was edible-looking, but Jié Jié didn’t dare approach recklessly.

He placed himself as a guest, happily watching the Master of Tides’ dance, his lamp sphere swaying as if cheering her on.

The duration of the dance was unknown, but the investigators on the mountaintop had already finished counting supplies amidst the gradually lessening rain.

“The gunpowder can still ignite after drying, but our cannons were lost along with the ship in the storm. We’re only left with four cannons from the lower cabins.”

“Part of the supply replenishment is lost, and the rest needs time to dry before use… But we don’t know how long this rain will last.”

The commander, awakened from unconsciousness, immediately coordinated everyone in organizing the remaining supplies, meticulously registering and reporting them.

The worst part was observing the sky; this rain might continue for ten to fifteen days, enough time to ruin the undried supplies completely.

His brows tightened, and the bloodstains on the bandages wrapped around his head spread again.

“This is truly troublesome. Perhaps we should enter survival mode earlier, haha.”

The leader remained cheerful, hearing his words, the commander relaxed his expression.

More than half of those in the New Continent Investigation Team had experience surviving in harsh environments and participating in frontier development.

“I think this wilderness survival won’t be too difficult. At least it’s a forest and not a desert. I’ve found some herbs and a bit of walnuts.”

The capable woman held a piece of herb beaten by rain and continued:

“There are several herbivore dragons hiding in a cave below.”

“When?”

The commander was somewhat bewildered, not noticing when the original field master had left. He wanted to reprimand her for acting on her own but couldn’t bring himself to say it.

“See, you need to trust each other. We’re the best team.”

The leader patted the commander’s shoulder, hearing his helpless mutter:

“But she’s a little too reckless.”

“Hmm?”

“My meaning is, it’s good. No one will hold us back.”

The commander smiled, commanding everyone to transport some supplies into the cave below.

Meanwhile, they lit a fire in the cave, drying their soaked bodies.

They also roasted chunks of herbivore dragon meat, the plump Ailu cat chef controlling the heat with the cooking cats.

“Eating portable food and fish on the ship has been enough. The herbivore dragon meat saturated with oil suddenly fills the future with anticipation.”

That curious compiler ate until oil dripped from his mouth, imagining how many delicacies the new continent would have.

When the members of the investigation team enjoyed their first meal after arriving at the New Continent, Jié Jié was still underwater watching the beautiful ancient dragon dance, a feast for the eyes.

A feast-for-the-eyes beautiful Abyssal Wave Dragon, and beside her, the equally rust-eatable steel dragon.

Jié Jié almost cried out of hunger.

Unfortunately, he dared not make any big moves and could only nibble on small fish and shrimp that entered his mouth.

Suddenly, the lamp fish dragon closed its mouth, its gaze sharpening.

The Master of Tides finally stopped dancing, floating with the current above the steel dragon statue.

Was she admiring her masterpiece? How would she digest her trophy?

Jié Jié’s heart tightened because Abyssal Wave Dragon’s actions would determine his harvest.

It was impossible to snatch anything; fighting a water-based ancient dragon in the water was as futile as a fish on the dining table fighting its diner.

Under the watchful eye of the lamp fish dragon, Abyssal Wave Dragon ascended and finally disappeared from the seabed.

When Jié Jié surfaced, there was no longer any sign of Abyssal Wave Dragon in the sky.

Recalling Abyssal Wave Dragon’s short stature, she indeed didn’t seem capable of dealing with the steel dragon’s corpse.

So, she just left like that?

The lamp fish dragon stretched its body, transforming into a sea dragon and swiftly diving, circling around the steel dragon statue with excited glints in its eyes.
