Chapter 956: Dark Demon and the Spirit Realm Treasure
Dark, though puzzled by Professor Kazel’s straightforward action, clearly was not the time to ask questions.
On the surface, it seemed that Professor Kazel had chosen the ‘Netherworld Orb’ over the ‘Golden Key.’
Either the ‘Netherworld Orb’ had other undisclosed functions, or he had already deciphered the ‘Golden Key’ and deemed it unimportant.
“It’s about time we went up,” Professor Shylph said as she stood up. Dark looked up at the cave ceiling, calculating the distance between here and the ground, and casually said, “If Professor Lily were here, it would be better.”
Professor Shylph nodded. “If Lily were here, she could directly pass through the ground and return above. Now, we can only use teleportation or choose to break through!”
“Breaking through is out of the question,” Bishop Sabrina Melville said, “We can drill a hole.”
“I’ll do it,” Dark said.
He then summoned the Magical Beast: Gabumon, and evolved it into a five-star ground-type Golem—the Drill Mouse兽—using Greed i3!
The Drill Mouse兽, with its Digging skill, could dig tunnels at an extremely fast speed, allowing it to move freely underground.
After issuing orders to the Drill Mouse兽, Dark and the others got on the Storm Magic Carpet and followed closely behind, successfully returning to the surface.
Then, they continued northward.
During this time,
Professor Metia and her team had already entered the fragrant flower maze.
The flowers in the maze did not actually obstruct the view, but passing through them would cause one to lose direction unconsciously, ultimately circling back to the starting point.
After circling once, Professor Metia suddenly regained her senses and immediately opened her Silver Moon Eye, re-establishing her direction and moving straight ahead.
At first, she still paid attention to avoiding the walls formed by the flowers and moved forward through the gaps.
But later, she directly swept across the flower garden, breaking through the “walls.” The Saint Knights, prepared for this, raised their holy light to encircle the group, working together with the Weather Mages from the Northern Territory to isolate all the floral scent.
There were no hidden beasts in the flower garden. Without being affected by the floral scent, the maze couldn’t stop their progress.
Traveling at such speed, they still couldn’t cross the flower garden in half an hour.
“This flower garden is really huge?”
Professor Metia looked into the distance, but all she saw was endless flowers.
Flowers, flowers, more flowers!
Although the colorful and diverse flowers were visually appealing, they only caused aversion at this moment.
That feeling was akin to being in a desert, thirsty, and looking ahead to see nothing but more desert.
Since entering the Flower Garden Maze, there was no turning back—half an hour had already become a sunk cost, and no one wanted to walk that path again.
So they could only continue forward.
But after another half an hour, they were sure they hadn’t been confused by the floral scent, yet they still couldn’t leave the flower garden.
Is this flower garden really that big?
Professor Metia immediately dismissed her own guess.
In the Mountain of Gods, such a huge flower garden was impossible. The only possibility now was that they had unknowingly been affected by the floral scent.
When they thought they weren’t confused, they were actually already confused? They appeared to be moving in a straight line, but in reality, they were still circling within the flower garden?
As for the traces left when circling, they had naturally vanished. However, just as this realization began to form, something unexpected happened.
In the Flower Garden Maze, they saw a statue! This statue had never existed in the previous flower garden.
This perfectly broke the notion that they might have been confused by the floral scent.
Everyone who saw the statue couldn’t help but be drawn to it, gathering around and examining it carefully.
Professor Metia raised a crystal ball, choosing to observe indirectly through it.
But as soon as she did, she frowned.
The statue’s appearance seen through the crystal ball was completely different from what she saw directly with her eyes!
She wasn’t entranced by the statue and asked Olivia beside her, “What does the statue look like in your eyes?”
Olivia narrowed her eyes and said, “No need to look; the statue reflects each person’s inner self. Only those with a strong will can resist its allure. Well, it seems to be related to mental strength.”
Her gaze swept across, seeing even the determined Saint Knights entranced by the statue, standing in a circle around it, dazed.
And if even the Saint Knights couldn’t resist, naturally many people in the Northern Territory were also entranced by the statue.
Professor Metia continued to ponder why the statue’s appearance seen through the crystal ball differed from what she saw directly.
If, as Olivia said, the statue’s appearance reflected each person’s inner self, then regardless of the method used, the same person should see the same image.
However, that was not the case. She was baffled.
But then she saw Professor Lily fluttering her wings to hover above the statue and suddenly pull out a massive hammer larger than herself, smashing it down onto the statue’s head!
In that instant, those entranced by the statue tried to block her, but Professor Lily was too quick.
With a loud crack, the statue’s head shattered.
Professor Metia’s lips twitched. She realized that the statue’s appearance in Professor Lily’s eyes must reflect someone important to her.
But after smashing the statue, Professor Lily looked quite relieved. She feigned wiping non-existent sweat and proudly said, “Not much.”
Those entranced by the statue were struck as if by a blow, staggering, their expressions grim, on the verge of collapse.
It seemed that the statue’s destruction also inflicted mental trauma on them.
“Violent solutions aren’t advisable,” Professor Metia couldn’t help but feel deeply troubled.
Fortunately, the remaining members of the team still had relatively high mental strength and didn’t truly collapse due to this mental trauma.
They recovered gradually after a short rest.
Then the team continued forward… and encountered another statue in just ten minutes.
Those previously entranced were still affected. Professor Lily pulled out her giant hammer again…
