Chapter 97: Your Posture Seems Unsustainable

Chapter 97: Your Posture Seems Unsustainable

“So that’s it, huh? Looks like your confidence isn’t just a figment of your imagination. You’re the first outsider to last this long against me.”

Gilbaris rubbed the wounds Alrjisi had inflicted on him moments ago. To think she could actually hurt him, the Ultimate Life Form. It was undeniable that Alrjisi was perfectly suited as a sacrifice.

“Of course! Don’t think I’m some slacker! I’ve been pondering how to handle you the next time we meet!”

Alrjisi unleashed her magic power, sending all the debris that covered her flying in one sweep.

“Hmph, indeed. It’s my mistake to underestimate you, thinking you were on the same level as the previous guy. But this is where it ends! In the face of my ultimate technique, even you will have to admit defeat!”

Gilbaris gathered energy in his hands; Alrjisi recognized he was about to unleash something big.

“Come at me! I’m going to blow you and this space away!”

Alrjisi also pooled her magic power into her hands, readying her most powerful skill to counter his.

“Chaos Destruction!”

“Power Explosion!”

The two unleashed their strongest offensive skills, the collision creating a tense standoff in the middle.

“Wow, you can actually stand up to my Chaos Destruction. I’ll give you a compliment for that. But it ends here; that posture of yours doesn’t seem sustainable for long, does it?”

As he spoke, Gilbaris increased his energy output, gaining the upper hand in their clash, forcing Alrjisi’s Power Explosion back.

“Ugh…”

Gilbaris was right; Alrjisi couldn’t maintain this state for long, barely able to last three minutes. She was nearing her limit. With a final anguished cry, she was hit by Gilbaris’s Chaos Destruction and crashed to the ground.

“Ugh… Is this the power of the Ultimate Life Form? Even after reinforcing myself, I still can’t keep up?”

Alrjisi struggled to stand again, adopting a battle stance once more. After the earlier clash, she had gained a newfound understanding of the strength of the Ultimate Life Form.

But it wasn’t over yet! Even if she couldn’t reinforce herself, she had no intention of giving up.

“Give it up! I can’t bear to see new scars marring that cute face of yours.”

Seeing Alrjisi ready to fight until the very end, Gilbaris merely said this, wanting her to stop the pointless struggle. She couldn’t defeat him; continuing to fight would only result in more injuries.

“Shut it! Hearing you call me cute doesn’t make me happy at all!”

“Is that so? Maybe I should switch it up. How about ‘kawaii’?”

“Get lost! Do you think you’re funny?”

Alrjisi shot him a disdainful look. She was seriously treating him as a formidable opponent, yet he was cracking jokes at a time like this.

“Fine then. Since you insist on resisting until the end, I’ll accommodate you.”

Gilbaris gathered energy in his hands again, preparing for another Chaos Destruction, this time aiming to completely wipe Alrjisi out.

“Wait! I’ll be your opponent!”

Just as Alrjisi was about to unleash another Power Explosion, Gaia suddenly appeared between them, interrupting Gilbaris’s charge.

“Gaia? What are you doing here? Where’s Ailin? Didn’t she join you?”

Seeing Gaia show up unexpectedly, Alrjisi was surprised. Wasn’t he supposed to retreat with Ailin?

“Ailin couldn’t stop worrying about you, so she sent me to support you.”

“That guy, why is he being so reckless at a critical moment? Gaia, you need to get out of here! You’re not his match. Let me handle it!”

Alrjisi patted Gaia’s shoulder, urging him to leave quickly. Honestly, even if Gaia had come, the situation wouldn’t change. Together, they weren’t even close to matching Gilbaris.

“No way. You’ve been beaten down like this; you can’t keep fighting. Let me handle the next battle. You go through that Teleportation Gate over there. Trust me, I’ll make it out!”

Gaia refused Alrjisi’s insistence. Did she really think she could keep fighting in her current condition? No way he would allow her to fight like this.

“Are you serious? The opponent has strength on par with Diablo—no, maybe even slightly stronger than him!”

Alrjisi reminded Gaia that Gilbaris, being an Ultimate Life Form, was at least on Diablo’s level. There was no way Gaia could take him on alone.

“I have my strategies. Just trust me.”

“Seriously? You’re just like Yake, never listening to anyone! It’s infuriating. Fine, I’ll leave for now. Oh right, I’ll let you borrow this.”

Alrjisi took off the pendant around her neck and handed it to Gaia. It was a Relic of the Gods, and if anyone could unleash its power, it would be Gaia.

“Oh, I’ll take this. I’ll return it when we get back.”

“Okay. Gilbaris, we’ll settle our score later. I’m retreating now—see ya!”

After saying this to Gilbaris, Alrjisi turned and shot off toward Ailin’s direction.

“Did I permit you to leave? Get back down here!”

Gilbaris reached out his hand, ready to restrain Alrjisi. There was no way he was letting her go like this.

“And I didn’t permit you to stop her! If you want to catch her, you might want to focus on your opponent first!”

Gaia waved the gun in his hand and charged at Gilbaris, interrupting his actions.

“Tch, troublesome things just keep piling up. I’m not interested in wasting time with you. Get lost!”

Gilbaris unleashed a bolt of blue lightning from his palm, striking Gaia.

“Ugh… This lightning…”

Hit by the lightning, Gaia felt his strength drain away, his body collapsing to the ground involuntarily.

“Just watch closely now; I’ll show you how I capture them.”

Having dealt with Gaia, Gilbaris stretched out his hand again, aiming his restraint at Alrjisi.
