### Chapter 109: Let’s Go Home! (Bonus Update)
“Nothing serious, just scared, but now they’re caught.”
Jiang Kekai turned to Xia Yu with a gentler tone and said, “Xia Yu, get in the car first. We’re heading home.”
Knowing that Jiang Kekai’s mood was volatile, Xia Yu didn’t dare to disobey. She immediately got into the car and sat quietly, not wanting to upset this ‘Young Lady.’
Jiang Kekai then got in and sat next to Xia Yu.
Seeing that Young Miss was okay, Zhao Wei breathed a sigh of relief too. “Phew, thank goodness Young Miss is safe. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have spared me if anything went wrong.”
Zhao Wei started the car slowly after checking through the rearview mirror that Young Miss and Xia Yu were settled.
On the way, Xia Yu remained silent, fearing he’d upset the already displeased Jiang Kekai even more.
Recovering, Jiang Kekai grew curious: Why isn’t Xia Yu talking? Is he sitting there like a stick?
Deciding to cheer Xia Yu up, Jiang Kekai took Xia Yu’s arm and asked gently, “Hey Xia Yu, you told me about going to the city with your parents, right? When are you leaving? Also, do you know where you’ll be staying?”
“Ah, I think it’s tomorrow and my folks and I will move to Peng City,” Xia Yu replied hesitantly.
He wasn’t sure if sharing this information was a good idea, but since she asked, he had no choice but to answer.
To his surprise, Jiang Kekai became excited and grabbed his arms, “Really? So you’re actually heading to Peng City tomorrow? Where exactly?”
Seeing Jiang Kekai’s enthusiasm, Xia Yu felt even more nervous but answered, “Uh, not sure. Haven’t been there in ages, so I don’t remember the address.”
Disappointment filled Jiang Kekai’s voice, “Ah, I see.”
After a moment’s thought, Jiang Kekai continued, “Just make sure to tell me the address when you get there, okay? I promise to come visit!”
“No… really needn’t. It’s too far,” Xia Yu insisted.
“Nope, you must tell me. Our place in Demon City is only two hours away. Remember to give me the address, okay?”
Seeing Jiang Kekai’s determined look, Xia Yu felt he had no choice but to agree.
Surprised, Zhao Wei wondered why the Young Miss was being so chummy with this guy. Then again, maybe because Xia Yu lost his male abilities, it didn’t seem dangerous enough for her to hold back.
As they approached Xia Yu’s hometown, Xia Jia Village, Zhao Wei parked the car.
“Hey Zhao Wei, could you help with the stuff in the trunk?”
Sure enough, all the snacks Jiang Kekai bought for Xia Yu filled the trunk.
When Xia Yu saw how much Jiang Kekai had bought, he panicked, “Little Ning Sis, I thought these were for your house. Why so many? I can’t eat them all.”
“No way!”
Jiang Kekai firmly declined, “Dear, do I look like I lack money? These are gifts. Once you finish them, I’ll bring more.”
Xia Yu stood dumbfounded.
Unable to convince Jiang Kekai otherwise, and Zhao Wei simply following Jiang Kekai’s orders, Xia Yu could only watch as Zhao Wei carried two big bags of snacks towards his house.
Seeing another two large sacks, Jiang Kekai personally held one and passed one to Xia Yu with a smile, “Come on, Xia Yu, let’s head inside and play a bit.”
Sighing, Xia Yu hugged the bag of snacks, walking alongside Jiang Kekai.
Back at home, chickens were already prepared.
Xia Hong had killed a family chicken earlier, knowing Jiang Kekai was visiting.
Upon seeing Jiang Kekai and Xia Yu with such bountiful snacks, the whole family looked stunned.
Seeing their surprise, Jiang Kekai smiled and explained, “Auntie and Uncle, these are presents I bought for Xia Yu.”
“Why did Xia Yu ask you to buy so much?” Wang Wenjuan, Xia Yu’s mother, chimed in, puzzled.
Unbeknownst to Wang Wenjuan, Xia Yu was upset. He knew he shouldn’t have taken so much, but he didn’t explain, knowing it would make Jiang Kekai look bad.
Jiang Kekai quickly defended Xia Yu, saying the items were gifts meant just for him.
With dinner almost ready, Wang Wenjuan suggested they all eat together.
Jiang Kekai eagerly went upstairs with Xia Yu, checking out his room.
On the second floor, Xia Jun and Xia Ling were watching TV.
Xia Ling, who was still annoyed at Xia Yu’s antics, pouted cutely.
Ignoring Xia Ling, Jiang Kekai turned to Xia Yu and asked, “Hey Xia Yu, where’s your room?”
“Turn right, past the living room, there’s a door – my room.”
Understanding where Xia Yu lived, Zhao Wei, still carrying the snacks, walked ahead to open the door, eager to inspect.
Xia Jun continued watching TV, ignoring everything.
Xia Ling, however, instantly perked up and followed, curious about what Jiang Kekai wanted in Xia Yu’s room.
Walking in, the room looked sparse and simple.
“Woa, is this where you live?” Jiang Kekai commented, noticing the old desk and simple wooden bed.
Xia Yu looked crestfallen, but Jiang Kekai reassured him, “Don’t worry, we can fix it up!”
Realizing Xia Yu’s sister Xia Ling was pouting by the door, Jiang Kekai sighed, trying to console both of them before descending for dinner.
Despite being twins, Xia Yu and Xia Ling had starkly different personalities and styles, making Jiang Kekai keen on distinguishing them.
At the dining table, family members placed dishes. Xia Yu’s mom and dad were equally surprised by the guests.
The family served the guests, even offering extra bowls for Zhao Wei and Jiang Kekai.
Xia Yu’s dad even helped them get rice, mindful of courtesy despite his initial confusion.
Everyone sat down, the mood light and casual, except for Xia Ling, who was still upset.
