Chapter 12: Perfectly Surviving
At this moment, Xia Yu had completely forgotten about her younger sister entering the room. All she could think about was her fear—what if she bled out and died?
With a pitiful look, she turned to Xia Ling. “Xia Ling, I’m bleeding down there! What should I do? I don’t want to d*e~”
Though she was curious about why her second brother had turned into this, Xia Ling decided to comfort Xia Yu first.
So, she pulled out a pack of tissues and started cleaning Xia Yu’s fingers, which were stained with bl**d, while reassuring her, “Don’t be scared, you won’t d*e. Trust me~”
Hearing Xia Ling’s words, Xia Yu’s mood lightened a bit as she looked at her sister tearfully. “Really?”
“Really, really! Mom said this is just a period, and you won’t d*e from it. I had it happen to me too!” Xia Ling patiently explained.
Seeing Xia Yu like this, Xia Ling felt a sense of nostalgia for her own first experience with this scary thing not long ago. Luckily, Mom had comforted her back then.
Xia Yu and Xia Ling were twins, meaning they were born on the same day, at the same time—just a few seconds apart—so neither was really older than the other.
At that moment, Xia Ling felt the thrill of being the older sister, carefully comforting her twin who looked exactly like her. It felt good to have someone rely on her.
Then Xia Ling realized something important—wasn’t Xia Yu her second brother? How could he have a period that only girls get?
Taking another look at Xia Yu’s bloody situation, it hit her. Xia Yu wasn’t her twin brother—she was clearly her twin sister!
As for why Xia Yu’s identity was that of a boy, Xia Ling decided to hold off on asking her directly and thought she would ask their mom later. Surely, Mom would know more about it.
After cleaning Xia Yu’s hands, Xia Ling tossed the remaining tissues to her. “You should wipe down there and your little panties. I’ll look for the supplies for when you get your period. I think I brought a pack with me!”
While saying that, Xia Ling rummaged through her pocket and indeed pulled out a pack of blue sanitary napkins.
With practiced ease, she helped Xia Yu stick the sanitary napkin onto her panties while patiently instructing her. “So… uh, pay attention! This is how you use it. Remember, I’m only showing you this once.”
Such a mortifying thing, Xia Yu clearly etched this moment into her memory; forgetting it was impossible, especially since her sister had practically seen everything…
Thanks to Xia Ling’s help, Xia Yu finally tackled the issue of her first period like a champ.
Then Xia Ling shooed her away. “Go wash your hands for now! I need to hit the restroom. Don’t leave without me, okay~?”
Baffled, Xia Yu stumbled towards the sink to wash her hands, her head still buzzing. Why did this have to happen to her?
She began to think about what she would do if her sister asked more questions—how would she even answer?
To Xia Yu’s surprise, when Xia Ling returned, she didn’t bombard her with skeptical inquiries. Instead, the two just casually made their way back to the family.
Next up: grocery shopping! But Xia Yu couldn’t shake off the feeling that Xia Ling seemed even clingier than before. Sure, she’d always been attached, but now it was like they were joined at the hip…
