### Chapter 18: Little Clever Ghost
Around five in the afternoon, Xia Le, Xia Hong, and Wang Wenjuan finally returned home. Naturally, their return was accompanied by the van loaded to the brim with stuff.
Upon hearing the sound of the motorcycle, Xia Yu immediately got up and went downstairs to start cooking. Thanks to Xia Ling’s help with her care, she was feeling much better now.
After dinner and washing the dishes, while Xia Yu was taking a shower, Xia Ling, unsurprisingly, handed her another panty liner. Although Xia Yu felt a bit sad about how quickly they were being used up, she couldn’t deny that the user inside was her own older sister.
Later on, Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan were watching TV in the living room, while Xia Yu, not wanting to compete with her parents, simply retreated to her room.
Meanwhile, Xia Le went to find his buddies to play those boyish games—like playing with sparklers…
Indeed, on their way back from the street, Xia Le had asked his parents to buy several packs of sparklers. This would keep him and his friends entertained for quite some time.
If it had been in the past, Xia Yu would have shamelessly followed Xia Le to play, but these days… every time she heard the popping sounds of fireworks, it reminded her of those unpleasant memories. You see, the sound of the fireworks exploding was too similar to… gunfire.
Thus, Xia Yu could only sit in her room and space out. She really had nothing else to do, and it was too early to go to sleep yet.
But right as Xia Yu was contemplating going back to spacing out and then to bed, her bedroom door was knocked on:
“Big Brother Two, open up fast~”
From the voice, Xia Yu could tell it was her younger sister. Suddenly, she remembered that she had promised to let her younger sister come over and play tonight.
Sighing, Xia Yu reluctantly got up and went to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, Xia Yu realized her younger sister wasn’t alone; her mother Wang Wenjuan was also there.
Seeing Xia Yu open the door, Xia Ling wasted no time dragging her mother in and promptly locked the door in front of Xia Yu and Wang Wenjuan’s eyes.
“Alright, Little Ling, why did you ask me to come here?”
Hearing her mother’s words, Xia Yu felt a strange, uneasy sensation come over her.
Sure enough, Xia Ling instantly wrapped her arms around Xia Yu, who was the same height and similar appearance to her. She then said to Wang Wenjuan, “Mom, actually Big Brother Two isn’t a boy—he’s a girl, right?”
Yes, Xia Ling persisted in telling their mother that Xia Yu was now a girl. Otherwise, it would be too awkward for Xia Yu to always be using sanitary napkins, and besides, she’d be running out of money.

Wang Wenjuan didn’t believe what Xia Ling was saying at all. Her daughter had been rambling nonsense all day, right? Besides, Xia Yu and Xia Ling were both her children, so could she not know the gender of her own daughters?
She knew her daughter was still young and naive, but she couldn’t afford to be naive herself. So, she took Xia Ling’s hand and said, “Alright, Little Ling, stop playing around. I get that you want a big sister, but you can’t mess with Big Brother Two like this. Let’s go, don’t disturb Big Brother Two.”
With that, Wang Wenjuan tried to lead Xia Ling away.
Seeing that her mother still didn’t trust her, Xia Ling turned to Xia Yu: “Big Sister, did you have your period today? Did you bleed down there?”
Xia Ling thought if Xia Yu admitted it, her mother would believe her. She hadn’t lied; Xia Yu was indeed a girl now.
Hearing this, Wang Wenjuan also looked at Xia Yu, wondering if Xia Yu was in on this madness too.
Xia Yu: “No, I’m a boy~”
And so, Xia Ling was dragged out of Xia Yu’s room by their mother…
Simultaneously, Xia Ling spat out some parting words with a huff: “Hmmph, Big Sister, you won’t admit it! When you get bellyaches, don’t find me!”
