Chapter 180

### Chapter 180: The Impersonator

After a night of hard work by Jiang Kekai, Xia Yu’s silver rank escalated to gold, and Xia Ling, Jiang Hanhang, and Xia Le’s gold ranks were also promoted to platinum, making them all feel incredibly awesome.

If Jiang Kekai hadn’t insisted that Xia Yu should go back to sleep by ten o’clock, they might have continued winning and moved up even higher in the ranks.

Both Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan supported Jiang Kekai’s insistence that Xia Yu go to bed and her encouragement for Jiang Kekai’s little sister to get some shut-eye as well. The “Great Lady” was really disciplined.

But once they were back in their room, whether or not they decided to sleep was a matter between them.

Similar to what happened at noon, Jiang Kekai transformed Xia Yu—known for his cuteness—into an adorable steampunk-style character, and the two then had a cozy sleep.

The next morning, after Xia Yu had washed up but still felt somewhat drowsy, he wanted to keep on wearing the sky blue school uniform. However, Jiang Kekai reminded him early, “Xiao Yu, did you forget that yesterday we got new uniforms?”

Jiang Kekai then brought Xia Yu his new school uniform while she herself already donned her chestnut-red one. True enough, despite being part of the Jiang family, they had to follow the school rules.

School uniforms aren’t just to make students look the way they do; they avoid showing off wealth within the campus. Otherwise, with the status of Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang, they would show up in designer clothes every day. It could easily demoralize students from less wealthy families. So, Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang didn’t put the school through that; they themselves also wanted to experience a normal student life. Under Jiang Kekai’s supervision, Xia Yu reluctantly put on the chestnut-red girl-specific school uniform.

Xia Le saw Xia Yu dressed like this for the first time—was this his brother anymore? He seemed more feminine every day.

However, Xia Le wouldn’t dare advise Xia Yu in front of Jiang Kekai; otherwise, the same thing might happen to his own door. In silence, Xia Le finished breakfast and went to school.

After all, Xia Hong couldn’t wait around every day to drop off his kids at school. He needed to focus on work. After a few times, he stopped accompanying them entirely.

Fortunately, Xia Yu had Jiang Family’s car to take him to school.

Upon arrival, paired with Xia Yu’s cute face and his chestnut-red uniform, people stopped staring awkwardly, wondering if Xia Yu was a boy or a girl. Instead, they focused on admiring him discreetly.

Again, Jiang Kekai dropped Xia Yu off at class and reminded him once more before leaving: “If anything happens, let me know, okay? I’m usually free.”

She said this to Xia Yu, Xia Ling, and Jiang Kekai. She wasn’t the type to ignore friends for someone’s looks.

Jiang Kekai patted Xia Yu on the head again, feeling at ease about leaving Yingying Building to grab her laptop.

It dawned on Jiang Kekai then that she needed her laptop brought over by house help right away.

By now, everything was ready as per time.

“Wow, Xia Yu, you actually wore the girls’ uniform to school. Now, no one will recognize you as a guy!”

Heard Xia Yu’s optimistic classmate teasing as soon as he sat down. He found it not very funny because he really did want to use the girls’ restroom.

Over the last few days, some curious students had searched online for information about the Jiang family and understood why Jiang Hanhang excelled—she had powerful backing behind her.

These students began gossiping within the classroom about how the Jiang family operated, spreading it throughout the school, educating others about the Jiangs.

Then they started to respect Jiang Hanhang and Jiang Kekai more.

Since Xia Yu and Xia Ling were close friends with these girls, they hesitated to mock Xia Yu further lest they provoke the Jiangs’ wrath.

Currently, in Classroom Fifteen, no one dared call Xia Yu names anymore but instead called him various other things like the “Impersonator.” But just when Gao Xiaotian tried to speak with Xia Yu, the school loudspeaker suddenly blared:

”Attention! This morning there will be a commencement ceremony. All students of the Elementary School Department, please gather at the auditorium to prepare for the ceremony.”

“Yay~”

Almost immediately, the whole class erupted in excitement. They wouldn’t have to attend class, which was super exciting!

For some reason, Xia Yu didn’t laugh anymore, even when Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang had been fooling around the other day. But Gao Xiaotian didn’t care; he immediately grabbed Xia Yu’s shoulder and exclaimed happily, “How did it go yesterday when you hit silver?”

Feeling pressure on his shoulder, Xia Yu frowned slightly but replied, “Yes.”

“Did you bring your phone?”

Gao Xiaotian’s tone held some hope, but he was unsure what exactly he was hoping for.

“Yes,” Xia Yu answered.

To his surprise, Gao Xiaotian became thrilled, “That’s great; later, we’ll play together, I’ll bring some friends, and then—”

Before he could finish, he was rudely pushed aside by Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang.

“Stay away from my sister.”

“Stay away from Xia Yu.”

Both Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling felt awkward.

Indeed, Jiang Hanhang knew Xia Yu’s position in her sister’s heart. Her sister had warned her not to let Xia Yu get too close to any boys, so that’s why she intervened.

Pushed by the two girls, Gao Xiaotian was perplexed, “What’s with you guys? Xia Yu is a boy. Why can’t I touch shoulders with him?”

“Of course,” “Of course.”

This was Jiang Hanhang and Xia Ling’s synchronized response.

Xia Ling then didn’t bother talking to Gao Xiaotian anymore since she disliked any boy who came near Xia Yu. So she took Xia Yu’s hand and left the classroom.

Meanwhile, Jiang Hanhang fetched a thick book from her desk and marched after Xia Yu and Xia Ling.

With everyone gone, Gao Xiaotian’s friend approached him, grinning, “What happened?”

“The devil knows! I just messed with Xia Yu’s shoulder, and they shoved me hard enough to twist my back!”

“Haha, that’s the problem. I guess you need some exercise,” he teased.

“Get lost. Do you have your power bank?”

“Of course.”

The seats in the school auditorium were arranged by class, with the front rows lower than the rear ones, to easily check attendance.

To promote fairness, boys sat on the left and girls on the right, instead of alternating rows. Thus, when Xia Yu joined Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang in the auditorium, she was unsure if she should stay with the boys or the girls.

According to her registration, Xia Yu belonged with the boys, but she wore a girl’s uniform now.

Xia Yu hesitated, but Xia Ling didn’t. Xia Ling grabbed Xia Yu’s hand and dragged her towards their class row.

Xia Yu resisted, not as compliant as before.

Xia Ling realized Xia Yu was struggling again. Xia Yu’s dilemma was clear, but Xia Ling didn’t get mad. Instead, she whispered into Xia Yu’s ear, “Think you’re still a boy? Go on then, sister won’t stop you.”

Xia Ling loosened her grip, giving Xia Yu a chance to decide. If Xia Yu still chose to join the boys, there was nothing she could do.

Xia Yu stood there, perplexed.

True, after all this time, Xia Yu finally accepted that returning to a normal male life was impossible now. She had lost that identity. Seeing troubled Xia Yu, Xia Ling sighed. Xia Yu clearly didn’t know what to choose.

Therefore, Xia Ling gently pulled Xia Yu’s hand, leading her to the girls’ seating area. Behind, Jiang Hanhang also breathed a sigh of relief. Xia Yu’s transformation wasn’t voluntary; accepting a new identity wouldn’t be easy in such a short time.

In the end, Xia Yu sat in the middle, with Xia Ling and Jiang Hanhang on either side. Jiang Hanhang handed Xia Yu the thick book she brought, saying, “As I mentioned, start learning about this stuff. If you don’t understand something, come ask me.”

Suddenly, Jiang Hanhang felt Xia Ling’s stare burning her. She added, “Or you could ask your sister. Just persevere, and when you finish this, I’ll give you some bonus materials.”
