### Chapter 19: It’s the Audience Performer!
“Group Leader, are you guys going to perform in the theater from now on?”
After Night Star was warned by the group leader not to randomly approach the two abnormal girls, she continued to follow him around.
“No, this place is where we rest. The performances take place outside.”
“Why?”
“Because nobody will come to this theater, so we have to go out and capture people’s attention ourselves. Unfortunately, our performances seem rather unpopular.”
“Really? They seemed quite impressive…”
Actually…
Star Eclipses can’t be noticed by ordinary people.
The performances of the Tragic Shadow Theater are inherently a type of star eclipse.
Ordinary people are only affected by their power, which is essentially spiritual pollution, allowing them to see the abnormal ones.
In general, there is only one kind of person who can resist this spiritual pollution and see their true essence, that is, those who become the audience.
Only Star Holders can see the new world, making them necessary for these performances.
Besides, most Star Holders are actually Night Watchers, whose duty is to solve star eclipses. Why would they have the leisure to appreciate the shows of the Tragic Shadow Theater?
They would immediately turn hostile upon meeting each other.
The only possible audience would be Night Watchers, but they often interfere with the performances, creating a vicious cycle.
But now…
A completely clueless new Night Watcher met the group leader and expressed heartfelt admiration and love.
So, the Rising Sun Theater welcomed its first audience, Night Star.
Even now, Night Star still felt this was just an odd theater troupe and didn’t find it dangerous at all.
“Hmm… No one likes your performance…?” Night Star felt tragic.
A troupe without a single loyal audience—how sad.
It’s as if her presence negates the very existence of the troupe members.
The group leader had said he wanted to bring joy to many audiences; such a simple dream, yet so hard to achieve.
If it were Night Star, she would probably have already changed her dream.
She gradually made up her mind, gathering courage.
“You know… Group Leader, if you think no one enjoys your performance, don’t forget about me. I enjoy watching, and I can be your audience. I’ll support you forever!”
Night Star’s face blushed adorably.
It was like a public execution.
Remember, getting a socially awkward person to say something so embarrassing took great courage.
Right after saying it, Night Star wished she could bury her head in the sand.
“Woo~”
If the group leader laughed, she would flee as fast as possible.
That would be so embarrassing!
But the group leader didn’t mock her, smiling gently instead.
“Lady Audience, I thank you sincerely for your support. I am deeply moved. Instead of showcasing fantastic performances to those false and cold-hearted ‘audiences,’ it’s enough to entertain you, this adorable little audience. Your happiness means the world to us.”
The Fraudster and the Gentleman were standing nearby, seemingly listening to the conversation.
Upon hearing Night Star’s words, both shared a smile in agreement.
A form of acknowledgment?
This was the first time they heard someone say that.
It wasn’t bad at all.
Back to Night Star:
Hearing the group leader’s words, Night Star felt a bit shy, fidgeting with her hair.
“Hehe… You make me feel so bashful.”
“Hey, Lady Audience, I formally invite you to join our troupe. You don’t need to perform; just watching our show is enough. You’ll be the only audience here, and the first to see any new performances. What do you think?”
“Eh?”
Night Star widened her eyes in surprise and then slowly understood what he meant.
“Join the troupe? But I’m lazy and enjoy staying home. I might not come every day.”
“That’s fine. Come whenever you want. The gate of the theater will always be open for you. Your freedom won’t be restricted.”
“Really? Then I’ll join.”
In Night Star’s mind, joining was just a nominal thing, sort of optional.
Since it’s not a job, no big deal.
Without pay, it’s even better—it’s free entertainment!
Useful for killing time. Lots of perks.
The group leader smiled happily.
“Then you’ll become part of our troupe from now on. Our troupe has a custom: addressing each other with code names. Just like calling me ‘Group Leader.'”
“Okay, sounds good.”
Night Star even found this custom cool, super-suited for her as a 2D character.
“From now on, call yourself the Audience Performer outside. Let everyone know we have such a member. And when speaking about you, we’ll call you simply Audience. How does that sound?”
“Audience Performer, huh? Hits the spot somehow. Thank you, I like it.”
Since becoming a loli, Night Star felt life became much more colorful.
First, another version of herself, Night Lan, joined the Night Watchers and befriended Zero Meow.
Now, Night Star joined a seemingly awesome theater troupe and met some friendly colleagues.
One part extraordinary, one part ordinary.
An experience never had before.
As Night Star’s excitement grew, she suddenly remembered something and grabbed her phone to check the time.
“Huh? It’s so late? I haven’t eaten yet…”
Night Star only then realized how hungry she was and apologized to the group leader.
“Sorry, I need to go back now. I’ve memorized the way. If I have time, I’ll surely come again. See you next time.”
“If that’s the case, then I’ll bid you farewell for now. I’m looking forward to your next visit.”
“Goodbye!”
After a brief goodbye, Night Star turned and left.
Her small figure faded from view.
The group leader watched quietly, recalling something.
“I forgot to put on an exclusive show for her. Oh well, next time.”
The Fraudster and the Gentleman approached.
Fraudster asked, “Group Leader, how did you find such an interesting audience?”
“Fate.”
The Gentleman chuckled, “Audience Performer? I don’t mind polite kids. She makes a good audience.”
Except for the two abnormal members, the other members of the Rising Sun Theater had accepted the simple, adorable loli.
On her way home, Night Star was unaware she had joined some weird organization.
All she cared about was getting home and filling her belly.
It was too late to go out to dinner.
Best stay home and wait for delivery.
