Chapter 198: Jiang Heng Makes His Move
The drivers of the four black vans instantly knew what was happening when they saw the situation. They were targeted! If they didn’t escape, they’d be in serious danger. So, without hesitation or braking, they mashed the accelerator and sped right through.
Boom~
Boom~ Boom~ Boom~
As expected, the four vans plowed straight into the vehicles blocking their path. It all spiraled into chaos; cars flipped and ended up by the roadside. And right then, the rest of Jiang’s bodyguards arrived on the scene. Instantly jumping out of their cars, they brandished their weapons, circling around the area with the intent to capture the perpetrators. No one was going to get away this time.
This chain of accidents looked quite gruesome, but none of the vehicles caught fire—so there was no risk of explosions.
The Jiang family’s bodyguards dispersed among the vans, effortlessly yanking twenty-seven captives out.
Unsurprisingly, the aftermath of such a colossal crash left most of the captives head bloodied and unconscious. A few, however, still had some semblance of consciousness. “Save me~”
“Please save me~”
When one of the Huang family members pleaded for help, the Jiang family members remained unmoved and uncaring. They knew these people brought this upon themselves. Who did they have to pick on if not their young lady?
When Jiang Kekai and Xia Hong reached the tunnel entrance, it was already congested outside, honking nonstop. Jiang Kekai found this unsurprising and simply abandoned the vehicle to walk inside the tunnel.
Xia Hong followed closely, curious to see how far this young lady would go and whether she truly intended to k*ll.
Following a quick car change, Jiang Kekai and Xia Hong continued briskly toward the accident site.
Xia Hong gasped, witnessing the wreckage. This interception was intense!
Then he noticed the twenty-seven injured individuals—each suffering their own wounds. Xia Hong almost felt sorry for them… for the “young lady.”
Seeing Jiang Kekai approach, the Jiangs made an unspoken channel for her. “Young Lady Jiang, I know I’m wrong… please forgive me… please…”
“I’m sorry, Young Lady Jiang, please forgive me… please….” [multiple]
“I wasn’t trying to… Young Lady Jiang, don’t k*ll me….”
Listening to these cries for mercy, Jiang Kekai didn’t feel any pity. Instead, she coldly asked, “Who planned to harm Little Yu?”
“No, it’s not me… it’s him, he’s the one who ordered it.”
One man, still somewhat coherent, betrayed his leader in order to save his own life. Not really choice, you know.
Looking at the pitiful leader still in a coma, bl**d couldn’t even respond. It didn’t matter though; she’d deal with the leader later.
Thus, bl**d pulled out her g*n and shot each person in the forehead. Click
Sound suppressors minimized the noise, yet the power was intact enough for easy dispatch. Each round pierced the target’s skull. After emptying one magazine, bl**d expertly swapped it for a new one and carried on with her judgment.
Until only the leader remained unconscious. Jiang Kekai wasn’t letting him off easily—he dared to target Xia Yu, he’d have to endure her wrath.
Notably, Xia Hong jumped at every gunshot, shocked that such a child could commit m*rder.
Pow! Pow! Pow!
Once all bullets were spent in the leader, Jiang Kekai calmly handed back her g*n to Commander Ah Cheng and casually left for the car. Clearly, mission accomplished.
Xia Hong snapped out of his trance, unsure whether he should continue with… a murderer?!
Reluctantly, he got into the car, figuring it wasn’t worth fighting against someone who only aimed to protect her kid.
Driver Zhao Wei glanced at the hesitant Xia Hong silently.
Jiang’s clan handled the corpses post-haste. The traffic jam was reported, but they waited for the authorities to give the Jiangs face and arrive late.
The ruthless reality of society.
—
Throughout the drive, Xia Hong remained silent, still processing how young Jiang Kekai was willing to m*rder for her son.
This… was just too hard to accept.
No words; just a somber silence while lost in thoughts. Revenge complete; Jiang Kekai headed back to Western Heaven Hospital, awaiting Xia Yu’s awakening.
Her phone remained off; her father and grandpa surely wanted to contact her about the huge events. But she hadn’t made up her mind to go home just yet.
Only when Xia Yu awoke would Jiang Kekai return.
Meanwhile, Jiang Heng, a key figure, arrived at the hospital and went straight to VIP Room 404 where Xia Yu lay.
Upon arrival, the Dean greeted him personally. The Jiangs were untouchable!
Watching Xia Ling talk with Xia Xin quietly, Jiang Heng interrupted, “What are you doing here, Grandpa?”
“If I hadn’t come, your sister might have done something even more reckless.”
Holding a stern gaze over Xia Yu, he said, “He’s Xia Yu, right? Take everything off him and get him out of here.”
“Hey, who are you? What right have you got to throw my kid out? Is this your hospital?”
Wang Wenjuan stood up, daringly defending Xia Yu, who was still unconscious.
Ignoring her, Jiang Heng glared first at Wang Wenjuan, then Xia Yue, and lastly Xia Ling nearby before stating, “Maybe not at my place, but I have power to make this decision.”
Turning towards the Dean with a demanding look, he prompted him to act immediately.
The unwilling Dean took out his phone to call for help, “Little Li, send some nurses to remove the items from room 404.”
Soon, a nurse and six others rushed towards Xia Yu’s room.
Wang Wenjuan, Xia Ling, and Xia Yue blocked the nurses, refusing to let them proceed.
Jiang Heng merely waved his hand, three bodyguards stepping in to push the obstructive ones aside.
With nobody stopping them now, the devices on Xia Yu were removed per his wish.
Next, Jiang Heng looked at the Dean, quickly understanding the situation, “Ma’am, take your child home.”
The Dean suspected Jiang Heng’s ulterior motives—the older Jiang wouldn’t let Xia Yu leave the hospital because of his disdain and desire to exert control.
Sure enough, Jiang Heng spoke again, “I advise you not to move her, as no other hospitals will accept her. Stay home.”
Coldly dismissing everyone, Jiang Heng turned to leave with his guards.
The Dean sighed, seeing Wang Wenjuan weeping over her mistreated son. Perhaps to make amends, he offered, “Would you like… a free ambulance for the ride back home?”
Angered by the Dean’s compliance, Wang Wenjuan rejected his offer and decided to move Xia Yu herself. Fortunately, Xia Yu was underweight and manageable for her.
Xia Ling instantly helped, dragging Xia Yu to lighten their mother’s load.
Though risky, it was necessary; the hospital refused Xia Yu anyway.
