“What? My grandpa came too? And he even kicked Little Yu and the others away?”
When Jiang Kekai heard this, she immediately felt the trouble coming. She never expected her own grandpa to get his hands dirty. In her mind, Grandpa Jiang Heng was notorious for his ruthless nature, and he didn’t hold back on enemies. Seeing her so flustered, the Dean continued, “Before they left, I think I heard them say they were going home.”
Hearing this, Xia Hong immediately turned around and ran off, not wasting any time. He had a bad feeling something was wrong when he got back.
Jiang Kekai wasn’t any slower. She also turned and bolted out of the hospital, abandoning her previous plan to drive. “Driver, take me to Tianyang Residential Area, stat.”
Stopping a taxi, Xia Hong panted as he gave the address, hoping the driver would hurry. Meanwhile, Jiang Kekai climbed back into Zhao Wei’s car. “Take me to the Xia family. Hurry!”
“Yes, ma’am,” Zhao Wei replied, a bit exhaustedly.
You see, she knew about Jiang Heng’s plan all along because she had to stay glued to her headphones at all times, catching every detail from other bodyguards. She knew there was still a big fight going on between the Jiang and Lin families. If she took Jiang Kekai directly to the Xia family, who knows what kind of trouble they might be in later.

Meanwhile, Xia Hong was desperate. He called his wife, Xia Ling, and Xia Le’s numbers—nobody answered. Oh boy, this made him even more unsure about what to do.
On the flip side, Zhao Wei, upon learning the Jiang family had backed off, was ready to take Jiang Kekai to the Xia family. No idea if the Lin family had traps set up.
So Zhao Wei asked Jiang Kekai, “Big Miss, since Master has pulled everyone back, do you want to go home too?”
“No! Take me to the Xia family. I won’t rest until I know Little Yu is safe.”
Knowing her boss’ stubborn nature, Zhao Wei could only comply. Thus, she drove Jiang Kekai to the Xia residential area.
As soon as they got out of the car, Jiang Kekai dashed upstairs, wildly ringing the doorbell and knocking loudly. “Are you guys home? Aunt, Uncle? Xia Ling? Please open up!”
No response.
Jiang Kekai, super nervous, pulled out her phone and began dialing Jiang Hanhang, Wang Wenjuan, Xia Ling.
Again, nothing.
In the next second, over a dozen bodyguards stormed up the stairs, surrounding Jiang Kekai. “‘Big Miss, Master wants you to come back with us.”
“No! I won’t be satisfied until I see Little Yu!”
Placing her bet on brute force, Jiang Kekai tried shoving past them and continued searching for Xia Yu.
This time, the bodyguards didn’t care about Jiang Kekai’s wishes. Jiang Heng was their priority now, and they chose loyalty to the boss over the orders of this headstrong lady.
“Sorry, Big Miss.”
Before Jiang Kekai could react, one of the female bodyguards attempted to pin her down, given Jiang Heng’s strict instructions that she must be brought back no matter what.

Lin Jie sighed and gave a helpless smile. “There’s another set of twins in there, friends with Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang. Xia Yu got hurt by the Huangs. Jiang Kekai even ran back from the capital to visit her. That’s why Jiang Heng targeted them—I bet he doesn’t want them messing with his daughter.”
Lin Hai nodded, understanding. “Right, after this, they’ll owe us favors. If they maintain connections with the Jiang sisters, it’ll give us leverage against the Jiang family.”
