Chapter 201

### Chapter 200: The End

“What? My grandpa came too? And he even kicked Little Yu and the others away?”

When Jiang Kekai heard this, she immediately felt the trouble coming. She never expected her own grandpa to get his hands dirty. In her mind, Grandpa Jiang Heng was notorious for his ruthless nature, and he didn’t hold back on enemies. Seeing her so flustered, the Dean continued, “Before they left, I think I heard them say they were going home.”

Hearing this, Xia Hong immediately turned around and ran off, not wasting any time. He had a bad feeling something was wrong when he got back.

Jiang Kekai wasn’t any slower. She also turned and bolted out of the hospital, abandoning her previous plan to drive. “Driver, take me to Tianyang Residential Area, stat.”

Stopping a taxi, Xia Hong panted as he gave the address, hoping the driver would hurry. Meanwhile, Jiang Kekai climbed back into Zhao Wei’s car. “Take me to the Xia family. Hurry!”

“Yes, ma’am,” Zhao Wei replied, a bit exhaustedly.

You see, she knew about Jiang Heng’s plan all along because she had to stay glued to her headphones at all times, catching every detail from other bodyguards. She knew there was still a big fight going on between the Jiang and Lin families. If she took Jiang Kekai directly to the Xia family, who knows what kind of trouble they might be in later.

But hey, Zhao Wei couldn’t ignore her lady’s orders. So instead, she drove all over the map, taking routes that were prone to traffic jams.

On the other side, the battle between the Jiang and Lin families was winding down.

Old Man Jiang Heng got lucky; despite having thirty-plus fighters sent after him by Lin Hai, his bodyguards kept him safe and escorted him off in a car.

And Jiang Hanhang? She wasn’t captured by the Lin family. Just as she fainted, several female bodyguards whisked her off to safety.

Jiang Hanhang wasn’t their top target, so the bodyguards’ job wasn’t as hard as Jiang Heng’s. Unlike him, who almost got stuck there.

With Grandpa and Second Miss safely away, why were the remaining Jiang family bodyguards sticking around? So they grabbed their injured comrades and all went together.

It’s best not to stick around after a big fight like that, or else you just cause more trouble for your family with the enforcers.

The Lin family bodyguards got the message and stopped beating up on people, choosing to help each other instead.

Hearing this, Lin Hai angrily smashed his car window. “Useless! With so many of us, we couldn’t even stop an old man. What a waste of my money!”

“The thing is, Boss, we had the roads blocked off, so Jiang Heng should’ve been stuck. But some of our guys must have betrayed us and helped Jiang Heng escape in their car. I bet they were bribed by Jiang Heng.”

Lin Hai: “……”

Looking at the mess outside his car, Lin Hai lit a cigarette. It was a wasted chance for revenge. The fight was over now, Lin Jie rushed out to meet Xia Le, who’d arrived via a tiny bridge car nearby.

“Guys, take these people to our family’s personal infirmary.”

At first, the Lin family bodyguards weren’t thrilled about moving random strangers. But since young Master Lin insisted, they had no choice. They carefully moved Xia Le, Xia Yu, and Wang Wenjuan out of the car.

They were headed to the Lin family treatment center.

Sure enough, this moment, Xia Hong met a block. The police put up barriers and wouldn’t let anyone pass.

Xia Hong tried talking to the officers anyway. “My house is right there! Can’t a guy go home?”

“No can do. There’s a special situation here, no entry allowed.”

Just then, a neat line of small bridge cars started rolling out, looking suspiciously untouched by any fighting.

Seeing this, the cops quickly removed the road blocks, letting the cars out and assuming someone important was inside.

But once those cars cleared out, the barricades went back up. Better make sure bl**d stains and such were cleaned up first before regular folks wandered in.

Meanwhile, Xia Hong was desperate. He called his wife, Xia Ling, and Xia Le’s numbers—nobody answered. Oh boy, this made him even more unsure about what to do.

On the flip side, Zhao Wei, upon learning the Jiang family had backed off, was ready to take Jiang Kekai to the Xia family. No idea if the Lin family had traps set up.

So Zhao Wei asked Jiang Kekai, “Big Miss, since Master has pulled everyone back, do you want to go home too?”

“No! Take me to the Xia family. I won’t rest until I know Little Yu is safe.”

Knowing her boss’ stubborn nature, Zhao Wei could only comply. Thus, she drove Jiang Kekai to the Xia residential area.

As soon as they got out of the car, Jiang Kekai dashed upstairs, wildly ringing the doorbell and knocking loudly. “Are you guys home? Aunt, Uncle? Xia Ling? Please open up!”

No response.

Jiang Kekai, super nervous, pulled out her phone and began dialing Jiang Hanhang, Wang Wenjuan, Xia Ling.

Again, nothing.

In the next second, over a dozen bodyguards stormed up the stairs, surrounding Jiang Kekai. “‘Big Miss, Master wants you to come back with us.”

“No! I won’t be satisfied until I see Little Yu!”

Placing her bet on brute force, Jiang Kekai tried shoving past them and continued searching for Xia Yu.

This time, the bodyguards didn’t care about Jiang Kekai’s wishes. Jiang Heng was their priority now, and they chose loyalty to the boss over the orders of this headstrong lady.

“Sorry, Big Miss.”

Before Jiang Kekai could react, one of the female bodyguards attempted to pin her down, given Jiang Heng’s strict instructions that she must be brought back no matter what.

Jiang Kekai struggled fiercely, but one woman against multiple adult women?

It was no use. She found herself restrained and dragged towards the car. Still in Zhao Wei’s care, but to the Jiang family this time.

After Jiang Kekai left, the Jiang family bodyguards seemed to get a new order and evacuated, leaving nobody behind to guard the place.

Simultaneously, Xia Yu, her mother Wang Wenjuan, Xia Ling, and Xia Yue were transported to Lin Family’s private clinic.

Perhaps thanks to Lin Jie being the eldest son, the Xia family received priority treatment—fast-acting relief from their injuries.

Lin Hai tracked down Lin Jie, likely to give some instruction.

“Son, I have something to say to you.”

Without delay, they walked out of the clinic together.

Lin Jie and Lin Hai were no stranger to father-son chats.

“Why did you save these unrelated folks?”

Lin Hai didn’t beat around the bush. Straight to the point, he wanted answers.

Lin Jie, unfazed, replied honestly, “There was someone I knew; his name is Xia Yue. So it’s not unusual that I saved them, is it?”

“Hmm. I think there’s something else you’re not telling me.”

Turning, Lin Hai stared hard at Lin Jie.

Lin Jie sighed and gave a helpless smile. “There’s another set of twins in there, friends with Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang. Xia Yu got hurt by the Huangs. Jiang Kekai even ran back from the capital to visit her. That’s why Jiang Heng targeted them—I bet he doesn’t want them messing with his daughter.”

Lin Hai nodded, understanding. “Right, after this, they’ll owe us favors. If they maintain connections with the Jiang sisters, it’ll give us leverage against the Jiang family.”
