Chapter 205: No Choice but to Have No Choice
Two hours later.

“What should we do now, father?”

Seeing that Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan were not opening the door, Jiang Kekai turned to her sister Jiang Hanhang: “Contact Xiao Ling, tell her to come and open the door for us.”
“Sure.”
Jiang Hanhang nodded. She had intended to do the same thing.
Thus, in Xiao Yu’s room, Xiao Ling received Jiang Hanhang’s message and sneakily left the house.
In fact, Xiao Ling was unsure whether bringing Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang here was right or wrong since Xia Yu’s condition stemmed from the Jiang family. Although she knew it had nothing to do with Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang, she couldn’t be certain her parents felt the same way.

Seeing Xiao Ling leave the room made Wang Wenjuan’s heart tighten, fearing something might have happened to Xia Yu under her watch. However, Xia Ling shook her head to dismiss Wang Wenjuan’s worries and walked silently to the door to let Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang in.
Wang Wenjuan and Xia Hong both had suspicions about why Xiao Ling was letting Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang in, but they hesitated, unsure if they should stop them. After all, Xia Yu’s condition wasn’t improving and having outsiders assist might be necessary.
And so, Jiang Kekai and Jiang Hanhang entered Xia Yu’s room once again. A quick glance revealed Xia Hong glaring at Jiang Kekai with hatred, seemingly ready to attack her.
This didn’t surprise Jiang Kekai. Her grandpa had really done some outrageous things, and Xia Hong hating the Jiang family was inevitable. She felt thankful for their willingness to let her and Jiang Hanhang in, even if she wasn’t sure why.
Jiang Kekai was too preoccupied to ask and focused on checking Xia Yu’s condition.
So, when Jiang Kan returned, she remained silent and immediately rushed into Xia Yu’s room and saw the weak Xia Yu lying on the bed.
Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan naturally didn’t trust Jiang Kekai with Xia Yu alone, so they got up quickly and went to Xia Yu’s room too.
Looking at Jiang Kekai so lovingly holding Xia Yu and helping her sit up, Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan were speechless. They never thought something like this could happen, but Jiang Kekai was still so tender towards Xia Yu.
Indeed, Jiang Kekai’s concern for Xia Yu was obvious to everyone, but Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan hadn’t read between the lines. One reason was that they didn’t think anyone was worthy of Xia Yu; the other believed it was impossible for two people of the same s*x.

Noticing disbelief in Wang Wenjuan’s and Xia Hong’s eyes, Jiang Hanhang continued, “Actually, the one targeting you yesterday was my grandfather, not me or my sister. My sister truly cared about Xia Yu.”
Her tone sank a little as she continued, referring to her grandpa, after all, he was still family.
Wang Wenjuan believed her as she had witnessed Jiang Hanhang being forcibly taken away by Jiang Heng, unwillingly.
But these two young ladies had fled, and now their identities were no longer applicable or helpful for Xia Yu’s sake. This renewed hope in Wang Wenjuan only to crash it once more.
Then, Jiang Kekai, who had been holding Xia Yu, seemed to make a decision. Looking towards Wang Wenjuan and Xia Hong, she said, “Uncle and aunt, what if I take Xia Yu to seek medical treatment? There are no professional instruments here, and leaving Xia Yu like this poses a significant danger.”
“I take Xia Yu where? If it’s to Jiang family’s place, I won’t agree. That’d be even more dangerous.”
These stern words came from Xia Hong. Experiences had made him hard to trust the Jiang family now.
Sending Xia Yu back to Jiang Family’s territory for treatment meant risking Xia Yu’s life if someone within the family wanted her gone. Taking action on her own was akin to sending Xia Yu into a trap.
Though upset, Jiang Kekai held back her pride and explained: “I understand what you’re worried about, Uncle. I want to take Xia Yu to a clinic in my company in Peng City. My grandpa doesn’t know about it, so it should be safe.”
“Should be?”
The word ‘should’ made Xia Hong uncertain.
“No one else can treat Xia Yu right now. The hospitals refuse her under my grandpa’s influence. At least this clinic is reliable, and it’s better than here with nothing.”
When Xia Hong still hesitated, Jiang Kekai got anxious. Xia Yu’s condition worsened the longer they waited; no telling when she might have another episode, and there were no professionals present.
Closing her eyes in deep thought, Xia Hong finally agreed, “Alright, let’s go.”
Indeed, Xia Hong was exhausted. He hadn’t slept last night due to worry for Xia Yu. Without Jiang Kekai’s sincere concern for Xia Yu, he wouldn’t have agreed.
Thus, Jiang Kekai rebooted her phone and contacted someone from their company to fetch Xia Yu. Eventually, after a bit of effort, Jiang Kekai lifted Xia Yu up and brought her downstairs.
Following behind in silence were Xia Hong and Wang Wenjuan.
Meanwhile, Jiang Hanhang and Xiao Ling didn’t know if it was due to what happened yesterday, but their bond seemed stronger as they walked hand in hand.
