Chapter 17: Brewing it Up
“Not kidding, I’m serious.”
“Mmm, I know!”
“In that case, I suggest you turn me back to normal right now.”
“No way! I refuse!”
Night Star wore an expression as if she were absolutely right, her voice full of confidence.
“It’s not bad at all! The look of a loli is super cute! Plus, you’re single, so what’s the point of turning me back into a guy? Uh… hold on.” Night Star leaned close to Mo Tu’s ear and whispered, “Are you thinking about showing off your skills?”
Mo Tu pushed her away, looking utterly speechless.
“Hey, what weird thoughts are you having in that head of yours?”
“Eh? Isn’t that true?” Night Star looked curiously confused.
“You should probably clean up your mind first,” Mo Tu groaned.
“Well, what’s wrong with a bit of fun?”
“I’m technically still male at heart, so this kind of talk is not my cup of tea.”
“So what? Fun has no gender. I… uh…”
Night Star fell into deep thought.
She wasn’t originally a little loli after all, but now she was fully accustomed to it.
Seeing Night Star fall silent, Mo Tu continued, “Now that the grand performance is over, I need to temporarily leave the theater group until I feel like coming back.”
“Ah? Why leave the theater group?”
Night Star thought the full group would be great. They could all get along harmoniously, and as long as they stuck together, nothing could stop them.
The grand performance, aside from Night Star herself, must have been the most impressive for the announcer.
It was thanks to the announcer’s abilities that they managed to build such a grand stage facing the entire city.
If the announcer quits, how will future performances continue?
To this, Mo Tu replied, “I need to go back to the Night Watcher base. Do you think they’d ignore my long absence? To do that, I need to get back to my original form. I wanted to stay a bit longer in the theater group, but since you found out, let’s just call it a day.”
“Ugh, can’t we just pretend you didn’t find out?”
Mo Tu gave her an assessing glance and slowly said, “What do you think?”
“Fine, looks like that’s not an option.”
Night Star couldn’t bear to give up the adorable Mo Rabbit. Ignoring her inside, she was truly cute.
How about making a wish to completely turn Mo Rabbit into a girl?
Nah, just joking.
“What strange thoughts are swimming around in your head now?” Mo Tu suddenly felt a bad omen.
This was probably the work of the stars.
When this loli had odd ideas, it had a good chance of being realized by her absurdly whimsical stars.
Like the change into a little loli, that was a prime example.
He had lived almost twenty years and never encountered something so bizarre, and it happened to him.
It seemed things always got complicated when dealing with this loli, huh?
Seeing the doubtful look in Mo Rabbit’s eyes, Night Star’s head shook like a rattle.
“No, no weird thoughts. None at all.”
“Really?” Mo Tu didn’t believe her.
“Probably really.”
“Whatever. Just figure out a fast way to turn me back. After all, you should know how to use your own star.”
“I don’t know.”
“Come on… Are you really still clueless about using stars?”
Seeing Mo Tu’s slightly disdainful gaze, Night Star became anxious.
“The boss told me not to rush my growth. As an employee, obviously I should follow the boss.”
“Growth and learning to use stars are different concepts. Don’t try to dodge me like that.” Mo Tu felt frustrated.
“Uuuu!”
Night Star turned and threw herself into the singer’s arms.
“Wah, Singer, Announcer is bullying me~”
“Alright, let me clarify.”
Gently stroking Night Star’s head, the singer explained his findings to her.
“The crucial factor is the intensity of desire. You need strong emotions to make a wish successfully. Last time, it failed because you were drunk and your emotions weren’t stable. Now, try to evoke different emotions.”
“Ohhh, so that’s how it is. That makes sense.”
Night Star suddenly realized the singer understood the wish machine better than she did.
Mo Tu seemed to know a lot too, likely understanding it a bit more.
It seemed only she, the owner, was left in the dark.
Seeing this, Mo Tu calmly said, “Since you get it, hurry up and find a way to turn me back. Although you can wish for my return, I currently have nothing to offer in return.”
Night Star touched her chin, seemingly deep in thought.
Abruptly, she took out her phone and snapped a few quick photos of Mo Tu.
Mo Tu was utterly bewildered.
“What are you doing?”
“Taking memories! Maybe I’ll never be able to turn you back. So, let’s take some keepsakes. A special moment for Mo Rabbit.”
With that, Night Star came closer and took a selfie with Mo Tu. The result was quite good. If only this Mo Rabbit could make even cuter expressions.
Mo Tu had no words for this.
She felt these photos would bring her terrible experiences in the future, solidifying them as black marks in her history. Yet, her rationality told her it was better to comply with Night Star for now to avoid further issues.
If things kept going like this, it would still be somewhat bothersome.
After several photos, Night Star happily put away her phone.
“Mmm~ Not bad~ We’ll definitely have fun with these later. Hehe~”
Mo Tu tried ignoring Night Star and replied, “Should we start then?”
“Hmm, not yet. Let me brew it up.”
Night Star closed her eyes and muttered, seeming genuinely in thought.
Minutes passed.
Still staring at the lost-in-thought Night Star, Mo Tu walked up, grabbed her face, and squeezed lightly.
“Owww, that hurts!”
Night Star quickly opened her eyes, covering her face and teary-eyed, staring at Mo Tu.
“What are you doing!?”
“I figured you were struggling, so I offered some help.”
“Don’t lie; this is clearly revenge!”
“Never mind, let’s get on with it.”
“Ugh…”
Covering her slightly hurting cheek, Night Star mumbled.
“Just turn me back. Cursed on you, you’ll turn back into a little loli when entering the theater group again, d*mn you.”
Mo Tu twitched her lips.
What strange wishes was this one adding now?
Oh well, as long as it works.
“Did it work?”
Night Star blinked her eyes.
“Approximately.”
“Then I’ll be off. Take care of yourself.”
With that, Mo Tu left the theater and headed outside.
She was no longer the announcer but was now a Night Watcher.
In the next second, her body started to transition from petite to tall, returning to a tall, handsome youth with black hair.
“A familiar feeling.”
As for the Star Eclipses aura…
With a thought, her Star Eclipses aura vanished, and she returned to being human.
After all, the concept of the trickster had a severe flaw—simply thinking it absurd made it so.
